I recently had a hydrafacial performed by one of the estheticians. It was one of the worst facials I have had due to the esthetician's carelessness and poor bedside manner. She poked my right eye while cleansing my face and ignored the fact that I had to pause to gather myself. Rather than apologizing for the incident, she attempted to brush it off and proceeded forward with the facial until I kindly asked that she give me a minute for having hit my eye. She also failed to review my patient information, age, and past history of fillers. She aggressively massaged my face up to the point until I reminded her that I had listed facial fillers on my intake form. Additionally, rather than take the time to set the music and ambiance she chose to forego that in an effort to get out earlier. She did not share any of the product information or indications for the products being used on my face and haphazardly removed my blackheads only after I requested that she kindly perform the extractions around the perimeter of my mouth. Lastly, when getting ready to pay, she carelessly flipped the ipad expecting me to sign the payment upside down. I simply rotated the ipad towards me and informed her that her carelessness reflects poorly on the establishment. Her response was, "Nobody has ever told me I need to work on my people skills." Overall, I am very disappointed in the service, lack of professionalism and poor mannerisms exhibited at this location. I wish I could have loved it like everyone else but my experience here was subpar. read more

I absolutely love this place! I got lip injections with Juvederm and I am so pleased. Patty is so sweet and knowledgeable, she talked me through the whole process. I was slightly concerned with pain but turns out with the numbing cream and numb inside the syringe, I barley felt anything! Just a slight poke. Dr. Mai is THE BEST doctor to see for cosmetic procedures. If you have a problem area on your body that you've been thinking about having improved, you should definitely contact Newport Aesthetics and consult with Dr. Ann Mai. I need to preface this review by saying this is the first cosmetic procedure I've had done. I've been to several consultations over the last 5 years and never felt completely comfortable or assured by the doctors I met with. My trouble zones (despite years of regular exercise and a moderate diet) have always been abdominals and behind my arms. I got sick of hearing myself constantly complaining about these areas to girlfriends, my sister, mom, husband. After searching online once again for the right doctor, I struck gold! From my very first phone call, Taryn (amazing aesthetician) was able to answer all of my questions over the phone and set me up for Dr. Mai's first available. I was nervous when I arrived but Taryn was very sweet and set me at ease. I dragged hubby along for moral support - and because he's brilliant and thinks of every question under the sun. Even he, with such a strong background in all things medical and usually quite the skeptic, was thoroughly impressed. He appreciated her deep background as a physician, including her internal medicine practice and experience. I opted to book a package of three SculpSure laser treatments for my lower abs, upper abs and back of my arms. When I went in for treatment it was all very easy and straight forward. The abs were quick and went off without a hitch. However, the machine wasn't cooperating with the back of my arms so Dr Mai suggested Kybella off label for that area. I went ahead with that suggestion. The SculpSure is very tolerable. I loved that it was only 25 mins an area because Coolsculpting takes an hour. Coolsculpting can also leave awful shelving on your abs. SculpSure has no negative effects. Treating my arms with Kybella was a bit more painful, but cools down when the ice pack is applied. I was sore for two days after like I had worked out hard with weights. All in all, I'm very happy I did the two procedures. I won't find out for a few months what the actually results are. I will update when I see the difference. read more
