Broke a torsion spring on the garage last week so I called after a positive referral from a friend. Rep on phone recommended replacing both springs even though only one was broken but was not pushy about it. Reasonable since wear on a pair of springs is equal when installed as a pair so I didn't want another failure in the near future and went with the recommendation. Price was very reasonable and the technician (Lawrence) was on time within the window stated. He was courteous, professional and did a great overall job making several adjustments to ensure the whole unit operated properly. He didn't rush out to get to another job but made me feel that everything had to be perfect before he left. Even reprogrammed my garage door opener for me. Got new LiftMaster garage door opener about a month ago and while the mechanics of this work great the electronics have issues. The door opener panel has a digital read out menu where you can read time & temp and also has a menu to make adjustment or changes. Mine however show an error code 90% of the time. For awhile the error code would show up then go away. A&E came down and replaced the computer board in the opener and it seemed to fix the problem for a day or two. Now the error code is back and is not going away. I was told as long as the door works it is not a problem. IMO it is a problem when a product does not work properly. I must say A&E so far has come out and worked the issue several times and made attempts to resolve the error codes. I am going to give them more time but so far I can say the LiftMaster door opener has issues that LiftMaster needs to resolve. If it were not for this one issue I would rate this at 5 starts. And this rating is not so much at A&E but at their product form LiftMaster. I have updated my review based on A&E door and the service they provided. They are as frustrated as I was but they have been excellent on standing behind the product and doing all the can to resolve the issue. As with many items these days they tend to have problems once in awhile and it is not the fault of A&E door. I thank them for their support and patience. read more

They matched a competitor price on the door and the openers were a little higher because they were better quality and had more features. No sales pressure and no surprise charges. Just had 2 new garage door motors installed this morning. The installer showed up on time and was friendly. The equipment itself is second to none. I can now open and my garage doors with my phone and I can also setup alerts to tell me if I forgot to close the garage door. How technology has changed over the years. The installer did not help me with the smart phone portion, however, anyone with a smartphone can activate this piece. Very easy and user friendly system. The installer was done much faster than expected and did a very nice job with all of the work. He also ensured that there was no mess left behind. AE installed a new front door, a garage door and an opener last fall. While the ordering process was not as smooth as we would have hoped, the final products are just what we wanted for our home. I can not explain how incredibly grateful I am for this company. I live in a large condominium complex and one night I get home from work, get out my car, and BOOM garage door just slams down out of no where on its way down closing. I try and open the garage again with the opener all I hear is a chain rattling. Now the complex I live in there is only one way in the garage and one way out (the door). There is no handle on the front and this door isn't budging. I just push it off until the next morning because I didn't need my car that night and it was a Friday night at 9 pm not much I can do. So the next morning I figured I would wake up early get it done and fixed. Instead I overslept (great). I had to be somewhere, and I'm renting this complex so I can't really just call a repair company out of the blue because I would need to get reimbursed, file a complaint, etc. So I'm freaking out all the sudden out of the corner of my eye I see a AE repair man truck. I literally just walk over to him and ask if he can check it out for me. Very nice guy pops open the door notices the issues fixes it in a matter of seconds (FOR FREE!!!!!). The guy wouldn't even accept my tip! This company literally saved the day and I can not thank them enough. I worked w/Sales person, Mike (who had supposedly been w/the company for years) and mid-way during selection, apparently decided that since I had changed my price point from $4-5,000 down to $2500-$3500 that I wasn't worth his time. He failed mulitple times to get back to me about what entry doors he had at this price point and I never heard from them again - even though he did come out to measure. Thanks to the lousy serivce my money was better spent at a competitor. my garage door remote quit working jan. 2013. an ae repairman was repairing my garage door at that time, so i purchased a remote (895 max) from him . that remote quit working oct. 2013. i was given another remote. that remote quit working this month aug.1. i called ae again for another remote,they said they would not honor the warranty (1yr.). i thought the warranty started again oct. 2013. all warranties do. after all, this was three remotes in less than 2yrs. i heard they were having problems with this remote. refusing to honor this warranty has cost them a customer. buyer beware ! read more

Last May my house was broken into.. it took me months to decide which company I wanted to fix my window..I felt more comfortable with the solid slab of wood up there, non the less I decided to go with AE door...not one of my best decisions.. they send their sales clerks all fancy pantsy.. but then they send smelly scam artist to do the job.. they broke the frame around the window and tried to tell me it was like that.. IT WAS NOT LIKE THAT..fast forward months......later and they come to fix it with a huge tub of caulking.. i asked what they were going to do with that.. they say fix the window.. 10 min later I'm finished!! Finished with what???? So the hulk came out of me... I'm never happy when I get that mad.. and still I have a damaged window...Never...
