They work with Maxcare (CARMAX's warranty policy) which has been a saving grace with my son's car, my daughter, and my wife's Mini Copper. I write this after my car was diagnosed as needing full front-brakes after just 7,500 miles by Loeber Motors. While I drive my car hard, that seemed odd. I dropped it off for D&R to access. The next day I was told brakes were NOT necessary right now, and we should reassess in 5k miles. This works for me because I trust these people with a trust that only comes with experience and proving themselves over time. The cost for checking my brakes, was nothing, a courtesy. When people new to the area ask for an automotive recommendation, it's a pleasure to point anyone to D&R. Last point: the keys to my courtesy car where tucked into the visor as I was told, in a ziplocked bag, sanitized for my comfort and safety, during the pandemic. Bear with me, because this will be long, but worth a read before you bring it to this heap of a shop.. To start, Nick is one of the worst people I have ever dealt with in a "professional" setting. We only brought the car there because the AAA tow driver talked us into bringing it to this nightmare of a place. When my car first got towed there for a flat tire, he called and said "what do you want me to do with this?" uhh...you're supposed to be the mechanic.. how should I know? anyway, we had all of the tires replaced and a free oil change (the nicest thing he did..). He then said there was a problem with my alternator and we said it was ok to replace it because we were frustrated and just wanted the issues fixed. Boy were we wrong. Fast forward 3 months and my car would not start. The defective alternator that he put in killed my battery. We had a second battery put in and brought it back to check the alternator. He said that the alternator was working just fine when anyone else I asked said it was running way too low. He made me feel stupid when I went and told him what other mechanics were saying. He pretty much laughed me out the door. THEN! boom. Another dead battery approx 3 weeks later. Finally had it towed to a different mechanic and they said that the alternator is not running with enough volts to support healthy battery life. They put in a new battery and alternator and I have not had an issue since.. with that at least. 11 months later, my tire went flat. Had it towed there only because of the warranty. He called and said that it is not a warranty issue because there is an issue with my "piece of junk car". Yeah, a man that we paid a lot of money to said this to me.. he even pointed out another car in his lot that he is supposed to be working on and said that was a piece of junk too. Sorry that we don't all have a bunk company the way overcharges so we can buy fancy cars. After arguing with him, we just went back to get the key. Extremely unapologetic and rude rude rude. Got it towed to Midas, they gave me new tires and an alignment for $400. Lord only knows what this trash company would have charged me. I am delighted to be done with him and his company. BEWARE!!…read more my car died at the car wash and these guys were right next door, they told me my alternator is dead and that the battery harness needs to be changed. these guys charged me 1350 for a simple alternator change (WHICH WAS NOT NEEDED) then when I told him absolutely not that it's insane for that price, the guy "moe" or something, got super bummed out and said "you have to pay diagnostic fee -$250. I said "WHAT?!" This guy just checked it for probably 45ms and decided to still milk me after I told him no, then he calls me back 40m later saying he found a cheaper part for $900, embarrassing. My car died right there in the car wash when it happened so I felt like I had no choice. I just bite the bullet and paid him $200, plus a 10% fee for using card, very embarrassing. DO NOT GO HERE, THESE GUYS WILL RIP YOU OFF. Oh and I also got the car fixed by just cleaning my battery harness, no alternator changed needed.
