It just didn't give "you're about to have a really good espresso" if you know what I mean. Then I took my first sip and was immediately reminded not to judge a book by its cover. The espresso was smooth, bold, and really well-balanced. The pistachio flavor was noticeable without being overpowering, and the pastry was delicious too. The quiche was decent tasting but vey flat and tasted that it was heated by microwave. Just wast turned off overall, especially by the water thing. Won't go back, plenty of other places for breakfast.

I ordered what is called the Benedict Maddie which is their take on eggs Benedict. This is my go-to breakfast and their version was nearly inedible. From substituting the English muffin with a brioche bun that can't stand up to the moisture of the eggs and became a stodgy mess of sickly sweet pudding to the curdled and flavorless hollandaise that left me feeling sick afterward. Adding insult to injury was upcharging for ham that is a core ingredient of eggs Benedict. This was absurd given that already astounding prices they charge. Sides were potatoes which were okay, but it was also served with salad that I was suspect of given the current health issues with lettuce. My wife was equally disappointed with what was supposed to be a French omelette but turned out to be an overcooked, open face western omelette that was more like rubber than eggs. Her $9 blueberry smoothie was delicious though Service was slow with only two other tables occupied when we arrived, although our eventual server turned out to be quite pleasant. Coffee was never refilled and the bill for two people was just...well...arrogant. I guess this place really is French. The two stars are for the smoothie and our waiter. This bread had crust too. It was soft and flavorful with an excellent texture. I think it's made with buckwheat, and had a bit of a sweet hint to it. The bacon was plentiful, thick, and a nice mix of crispy and meaty. I didn't want this sandwich to end. My husband got the same sandwich but on a Kaiser roll and loved it as well. The bakery itself was cozy and had a lot of options for freshly baked bread, croissants, and pastries. They had a full coffee bar with lots of options as well. I like that they have a station set up where you can add any type of milk or sweetener you want, as well as condiments, plasticware, to-go bags and more. And for dessert, I got a GF brownie to go...it was phenomenal. Big, moist, delicious, and had a layer of chocolate fudge and chunks on top. My only regret is that I didn't find this place at the start of my trip, because I would have been there every morning. I can't wait to come back on my next visit to Saratoga!

It took every ounce of my willpower to not indulge in the cider donuts or double chocolate cookies or pumpkin pie or apple fritters...etc. Attached to the adorable country store is an equally adorable café called Lunch Thyme. They only serve lunch as per the name. Locals remember when they had a big breakfast offering back in the day. New owners are running a lovely, clean, fresh and simple menu as of April, 2022. I had a turkey sandwich with a side salad and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Iced tea was just right and the portions were "normal". Nothing too overstaffed and I really liked the condiments. I tasted the quiche, macaroni, salad and cheddar broccoli soup. Everything is clearly homemade and quite delicious. Friendly service, nice people, good food, chill vibe.

Lunch Thyme welcomes its visitors into its warm and breezy arms. It offers a small but finely chosen selection of items. Quiche lovers, sandwich lovers, salad lovers, and soup lovers alike will find solace in the menu at Lunch Thyme. One can sample a roast beef sandwich on a tender ciabatta roll, a salad with roasted beets, or several juicy and meaty balls on a bread as if it were taken from Italy itself. And the prices. The prices, it may be said, are reasonable for the area: not a bargain per se, but nor does Lunch Thyme greedily tear away visitors' wallets to gorge itself upon their contents. In short, it is reasonable. That is it. That is it indeed. In a word, Lunch Thyme is reasonable.

I had no idea. But I was just there this morning. I gazed into the pastry case at the croissants, and my heart sank. I felt sick. The croissants looked like something you would see in an airport. I think the croissants at Costco might be better. These were flat, flabby, and pale things. Far from the perfect, golden, flaky, structured, glistening beauties of the past. And this isn't about fond recollections. I have receipts. Photos from the past and pictures of the present. It's night and day. If the new owners aren't going to preserve Mrs. London's food, they should have the decency to put someone else's name on the joint. I too asked about the breads, and was told "their baker retired". Fortunately, Michael London taught other people to bake amazing artisan bread, and his legacy lives on elsewhere. Unfortunately, nobody at the shop bearing his name bothered to pick up the torch. What a shame. It is so sad. I am literally heart broken. This was one of my favorite bakeries in the country. I went out of my way to make a special stop in my limited time passing through the region. But I suppose nothing lasts forever, and this is a valuable reminder of that unfortunate fact. My days visiting Mrs. London's are over. I can no longer recommend it in good conscience. Perhaps the hot chocolate is still good, and the decor is still lovely.
