Located a few minutes down the road, I came across this cute little Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Taco Tuesday & a Karaoke night, SCORE! The place was lively, filled with music and offers outdoor seating. Our server was attentive and food delectable. (The sliders were a bit salty.) The carne asada fries were the highlight. I'll try again.

So I think this place might've just opened or it needs something. It looks amazing. Friday reservation @7:45 maybe 8 tables as I'm walking to table. It's a cool vibe and nice bar inside, and have outside dining as well. Gorgeous space. Pros: Food was good. Not blown away. But good. The meat was certainly under seasoned. Both the chicken and asada needed more love. Margarita we wound up sharing was good. The beans and rice were on point. Nicely seasoned and Smokey. Cons: Service. A lot of people working but overall time between touches was lazy. Very friendly and nice but they just need guidance and training. On a personal note. I really think it's a good concept and want them to succeed.

Ate here a couple times the first time I ordered to go. The elote appetizer is phenomenal that's the reason I went a second time! I also had the carne asada fries they were ok. The second time I had the stuffed airline chicken breast it lacked flavor and was very dry. The beans and rice were ok. My friend had the tequila mahi and she really enjoyed it. The staff was nice. The ambiance is friendly we sat outside which was nice.

A'LU is one of the most ambitious restaurant buildouts Boynton has seen in years. Huge, beautifully designed space with dramatic lighting, a strong bar presence, and enough room to host serious events without feeling cramped. This is not Tex-Mex. The menu leans San Diego/Baja with regional depth -- smoked short rib mole, goat birria, Siete Mares seafood caldo, steak chimichurri, and a creative corn "lasagna." The overall polish reminded me of the specialty restaurants at upper-end Riviera Maya resorts -- composed, elevated, and intentional. Standouts: *Empanadas with a delicious smoky braised meat filling (would prefer sauce on the side). *Smoked short rib mole -- tender and well layered. Ask for rice or tortillas; they're happy to bring them. *Goat birria taco -- flavorful and not gamy. Go light on the consomé. *Siete Mares -- tomato-based seafood soup that reminded me of cioppino. *Corn lasagna -- creative vegetarian option. *Strong mezcal and margarita program. Pricing reflects the ambition: Apps $12-$18 Tacos $6-$9 each Entrées mid-$20s to low-$30s Cocktails $15-$17 I'm usually critical of expensive tacos and elotes in Boca/Delray, but most of those spots aren't trying to be this regionally focused or ambitious. Here, the pricing aligns with execution. Bottom line: A'LU is operating at a higher tier than much of the immediate area. It needs more traffic. If you're in Delray or Boca and say there's nothing different nearby, this is worth the short drive.

Well, the ambiance is absolutely gorgeous! It looks amazing, the outdoor space as well. My husband had a steak with rice and beans and I had steak tacos. The food did taste delicious, no doubt about it. But the reason I can only give three stars is the amount. You would think we had gotten only appetizers ,for I have never had so little food on my little plate.! 4 small strips of beef and 2 little hard fajitas. My husband got plenty of rice and beans but his steak was pre sliced and placed 1/2 inch apart so it would look bigger. Very sad because nice ambiance, food delicious and service ok.

There's really not much to dislike about A'lu! From the ambiance to the food, everything was on point. The space itself is beautiful--open, stylish, and inviting, which makes me imagine how fantastic it'd be for a holiday party or a special event. As for the drinks, Margaritas Monday is a total win! Discounted margaritas? Yes, please! We tried both the Strawberry and Guava margaritas, and both were fantastic--refreshing, flavorful, and just the right balance of sweet and tangy. For food, we kept it light. Since I wasn't super hungry, we opted for the Asada fries. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The fries were crispy, but the cheese sauce, while good, wasn't exactly my favorite. It had a nice richness, but I think I'd prefer them without it next time. Service was solid--our server was multitasking, running the bar and the floor, so she was definitely busy, but still managed to keep everything flowing smoothly. All in all, A'lu offers a great blend of food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you're popping in for a casual meal or planning a bigger celebration, it's definitely a place to check out!

It's a pretty space tucked away almost out of sight from the road. We started with guac & chips - they offered chunky or smooth. We tried the corn lasagna & the street taco entree. Both were very good. Service was on point. They have a large, beautiful patio that is partially covered.

As a foodie, I love trying new places, but this one missed the mark for me. I stopped by on a Monday, and the season was super slow. There were only about three people in this huge restaurant, yet I wasn't even acknowledged for 15 minutes. Eventually, my server (Autumn)came over with salsa and chips and literally said she had forgotten about me. The outdoor seating in the back had such a beautiful view, which honestly was the best part of the experience for me. But the service stayed painfully slow, and I waited way too long for my food. To make it worse, I had to go inside just to pay. The manager (a tall white guy) checked me out, and when I mentioned that my server had been really slow, he barely acknowledged what I said. That kinda hurts honestly! Sadly, between the poor service and lack of accountability, this is not a place I'd come back to. Oh yeah! Food was okay!!

We arrived on a Friday night without a reservation a little on the later side. We got up front parking and sat outside on the patio under the lights and on the lake. It was beautiful weather and a beautiful night! Our waitress (I forget her name but she was a young girl who had been there for about two months) was so sweet! She made excellent recommendations and explained everything to us in detail. We got chips and trio of salsa, guacamole and empanadas for appetizers. The trio of salsa was dynamite!! I wanted to drink the salsa it was so good! Then we each got our own meals. I got the mexi bol with grilled peaches and chicken thighs. If I hadn't eaten so many chips and salsa, I would have eaten the whole salad. It was amazing! One person got carna asada tacos and said it was good but the meat was a bit dry. Then someone else got barbacoa tacos and the shell was saturated and broke apart. She said the meat tasted amazing but wishes it was on a hard shell. (They don't have hard shells- FYI). Then we moved on to dessert. This is where it fell flat for all of us. The chirps had no flavor. The tees leches was good, not great. Just average. Next time we will try the dulce de leche. Waitress said that's the best one and we didn't listen! Our own fault. I give his four and not five for a few reasons. One the dessert menu was lackluster. Two, the taco shell situation and three the dry steak. Overall, we WILL returning (we actually have a large party in one day arriving since this place is GREAT for a large party) and we did enjoy just about everything we tried. One other thing to note, it's in an odd location, in an odd plaza but once you step inside, you don't even remember because it's so beautiful inside.

I just wanted to update my review because the menu has changed quite a bit and the happy hour is not as great as it used to be. Happy hour used to be 1/2 off all drinks and now it is just a slight discount on a few drinks, not all. Also taco happy hour list is not on all tacos, also still just a select few. Another thing to note is that the taco entree is more expensive and now doesn't include the fish tacos and the birria tacos, which are my favorite. Also mussels were new to the happy hour menu... not really a fan of their sauce. Ambiance is still beautiful and both the indoor dining area and outdoor patio provide the perfect backdrop to a girls night out, date night, or after work drinks with friends. Service is also great and servers/bartenders are nice and attentive. However, with the changes I probably will not be back unless it is an occasion because there are better taco spots for less. A'lu still hits if looking for an upscale Mexican experience.

Margaritas were great! Chips and salsa were great! Service was great. The tacos were .... Ok. Not the best tacos I've ever had but not the worse either. Will have to go back to try some over menu items. The inside is pretty big and really clean. They also have a huge outside covered patio overlooking a lake!

There was a large free parking lot right in front. This was an easy stop and Yelp friends are raving about them. I smelled the tacos as soon as I got out of my car. Taco Tuesday was cute in black and orange with lots of clean tables, high tops, and outside tables. We went straight over to the tablets, scrolled and placed our order, tapping a credit card to finish. We weren't really sure if there were specials or meals were the best way to order. It is Cinco de Mayo and Tuesday here and we didn't see anything special. We grabbed a table near the walk of fame and sat down to watch the music video while we waited for our food. There was no hand soap in the ladies room, so I used the soap in the men's room. I mentioned it on the way in and when I washed up to leave, there was still no soap. We each had 2 birra tacos, shared a drink and rice and beans for $15 pp including tax and tip. Our food came out quickly with a bottle of green and a spicy red salsa. Our lunch was okay the tacos were a little messy crumbling as I was trying to eat them. They weren't full of fresh flavors, they just tasted washed out and watery.

When you first walk in its lit up like a weird black lit night club. You have no one greet you and the staff couldn't be bothered - not good!! Standing up front staff where just ignoring EVERYONE except the door dash people who streamed in one after another - no signage mention of how to order your food or where to sit - nothing? So after standing around for a while we figured out you have to place your order on a little computer kiosk set off to the side. And then sit yourself down and wait the vibe of the place like I said was a black lit club with cool neon signs and glow in the dark paintings. The place was a yuppies idea of a cool taco joint - which was overly expensive and pretentious and unfriendly staff and tasteless food. I had a steak burrito which had barely any steak and what was in there was under seasoned the birria tacos where a little better but the sauce was bland. So $48 for a burrito and three tacos and a pico salsa was just overly priced and lame. They did have decent chips so there's that. Guys if your gonna have a gitchy cool taco joint first rule is to have GOOD FOOD!!! Second is to have friendly staff which you don't have. Third is to not to be so expensive!!! Honestly I would rather have a family run taco shop like tacos el carbon down the street half the price and better tasting food and responsive staff.
