Good food but slow service. First of all, the place is rather small so make sure you make a reservation prior to coming. I made a red 3 days in advance at the latest possible dinner time available for a Friday was 630pm (quite early for me but I really wanted to try the place so I took it!). I actually never even got to go inside of the building as we were sat on the patio and my friends were already there when I arrived. The food was good... tasty. We started with the beef tartare which I thought was mediocre. It was a bit bland for me (if it wasn't for the capers in it, I wouldn't have finished it). The pasta was the star of the show as it should have been. We tried the cacio e pepe, bucatini alla bolognese and carbonara. The pasta noodles in each of these was delicious. Nice and fresh. The Bolognese sauce was flavorful. The carbonara had a nice balance of flavor with the salty bacon, fresh peas and creamy egg yolk. The service was slow. It took awhile for me to get my first drink and quite a long time for the server to come back around after we were doing eating to ask if we wanted dessert or the check. A quality restaurant experience for me is equal parts food, service and atmosphere. a mano delivers on all fronts with a price point that is on point. Let's start with the service. I rolled into the bar and was immediately greeted by Brendan, who was not only fun and personable, but also knowledgeable and passionate about the well curated wine list and the food. We bonded specifically over amaro and their great selection, but his wine suggestions were equally top notch. Again, it's about quality not price here and it's nice to find an ATL foodie home base while I'm here for work for next few months. Let's move on to the food. The octopus is everything you want in an appetizer. Beautifully charred and a must. But it's the pasta that makes this place singular for me. Hand made and perfectly al dente in preparation. I had the Cacio e Pepe and tried my friends bolognese and they were both next level. I can't wait to try the other pasta selections. We attended dinner on Saturday, September 16th with a family member who has extreme food allergies. Our server and the manager were AMAZING in helping us navigate the menu to ensure a safe, healthy experience. The manager even went so far as to contact the owner of the local company who produces the gelato served at a mano to ensure that it didn't contain polysorbate. It was a rainy Tuesday night and patio seating was still open and made for a beautiful evening. The main draw to this restaurant is the staff. So helpful and kind. This place has a very laid back yet chic atmosphere with a beautifully complex menu. Your standard anti pasti, primi, secondi and dessert but with very peculiar yet tongue tantilizing offers. From grilled octupus to a duck breast, there is something for all tastes. As a non meater I did the italian skillet bread which was DELICIOUS!!! I would go back just for that. I also had the scallop and fusili in a cream sauce. I usually stay away from cream sauces in a pasta, but I am so glad I tried this. read more

Was really excited to try this place out but ultimately felt it was just okay. We were able to get seated outside with our dog fairly quickly on a Saturday evening. Most tables had an individual heater which was much appreciated on an unusually chilly ATL night haha. We started off with the charred cabbage because I had read some raving reviews. I love cabbage and pretty much all veggies so I'm not that hard to please but I was less than impressed by this. It was hard to eat...we couldn't cut the cabbage into bite-sized pieces with the butter knife that came in our silverware so ended up eating the pieces less than elegantly. The flavor was okay but it was overwhelmingly oily. We saw the burrata at the table next to us and really regretted not going with that. We got two pasta dishes - carbonara and cacio e pepe, both of which were presented beautifully. My boyfriend had the carbonara and said that the pasta was well cooked but the egg was the best part and the rest of the flavors were very underwhelming. I had the cacio e pepe and felt similarly, nice pasta but very little taste otherwise. We had a side insalata mista which was quite nice. Portions were okay, we left satisfied but not overly stuffed (still had room for some dessert at home). We felt prices were reasonable for being a trendy restaurant. Service was very friendly. As with other places they seemed understaffed but the servers did their best. The table next to us had an extremely delayed meal and the restaurant comped their pasta which was an appropriate gesture imo. read more

My wife is Gluten free due to an allergy. We were visiting Atlanta and after a lot of yelp and online searches of Italian restaurants (many of which don't make it easy to find out of they have gluten free options), we came across A mano. It wasn't close to our hotel but we decided to take a rideshare anyway. Soooooo glad we did. This place is awesome! The gluten free pasta made by hand is phenomenal, (I am not gluten free but could not tell the difference when tasting my wife's). My wife got the gluten free fettuccine with Caccio e pepe sauce and the sauce was so good. You can get gluten free fettuccine with any item on the menu. This place is so good we came here two days in a row. For non gluten free I had the carbonara one day and the Bolognese the other day and both delicious! Came here on a date night and loved the atmosphere!! If the weather outside is decent, definitely ask to sit outside because their lighting adds so much to the mood. The service was great and pretty prompt. We got there at 9:30 (and their kitchen was closing at 10) and we were able to order an appetizer and entree just in time. Their burrata was absolutely delicious. The basil oil and balsamic were perfect compliments to the cheese, and the tomato jam added the right amount of sweetness for me. I did ask for the tomato jam on the side because I was unsure at first - I will probably do that again just so I can choose how much jam I want in each bite. The appetizer was the perfect size for us to share. For our entree we just decided to split the cacio e pepe to save room for dessert at another restaurant, and we enjoyed it. It was well seasoned and the pecorino really added to the flavor. I thought the spaghetti was cooked well - not too soft and fun to eat. Definitely coming back here! I hear they have pop-up restaurants, so I have to try it one of those nights. read more

What a great little restaurant! I have driven past this place for some time and finally decided to stop in and see what it is all about. I love good grilled octopus and have eaten some of the best around the globe - the grilled octopus here is probably the best I have had anywhere. Everyone's food in my group was great, the service was attentive and drinks delicious. First time finally having dinner here this week. I have been wanting to come here for awhile after a few friends recommended this spot. Everything was super appealing both visually and in taste. We got the burrata and cacio e pepe, both simple and elegant dishes I've had elsewhere but these were possibly the best I've ever had. The ambience was quiet and romantic. Perfect date night spot. Let me start by stating this review is not for a mano standard. Tonight was a Vietnamese pop up from the chef at AIX. The food was spiced correctly, however, the portions sizes were incredibly small and didn't work well with the menu. We spent 150 on the meal and left with a spicy stomach but still hungry (50 bucks on 5 drinks). Pho shot: literally a shot glass with pho broth and a little Lemongrass. $2 each. Wtf. Fried wonton tortellini: 3 mini pastas that we devoured in 2 bites Ratatouille: one bite and nine bucks. Not great. Banh mi: $14 for a sliver of chicken and a crouton style Piece of bread. Not bad but overpriced. Beef: undercooked and not good. Served with cold spicy noodles. $18 Again, the spices were right but the delivery was off. Better off getting full on Buford Highway. I came here with friends for dinner on a Saturday night. It was small but cute ambiance. Let me preface his by saying that the food was 2-3/5 but I have a very specific reason for one star. Let me back track. The cauliflower side was a sweet and yummy starter for us served in a generous portion. I had the "chef's daily selection" of veggies as my main. At our table of 6, all 5 of my friends' food arrived promptly. I sat waiting for my "veggie" plate and a man came by to apologize saying it'd take a couple more minutes. A few minutes later a plate came out with the following: the end of a sweet potato, 2 pieces of roasted butternut squash and two small slivers of eggplant. That's the chef's daily veggie plate. The presentation was appalling and the flavor was lackluster. Lastly, I asked for a decaf coffee/americano to have with dessert because I'm 7 months pregnant. Fast forward to 2am when I was up, jittery and the 3lb baby in my uterus was, too. I am so irritated that I specifically asked for decaf just to be served a regular caffeinated americano! Ugh! The poor server was so embarrassed. Everything else appeared fine, but I couldn't eat because I had the after taste of the raw bit from the original serving. We shared 2 small plates (Burrata and the cauliflower), 3 pastas (cacio e pepe and bucatini alla bolognese) and then had granita (italian ices). Honestly, everything was epic. The food was fantastic. The pastas are not to be missed, and do not downplay cacio e pepe. This is not an easy dish to make well. It's super easy to make; and easier to F up. a mano nailed everything that night. The granitas were fantastic as well...we did a flight. The wine we had was also slammin'. This is hands down my favorite Italian in the city now. Great for couples and group dining. I waited a week after eating here for both brunch and dinner to rate it. I was really excited to start writing about this place after I had brunch but since they are known for what they serve for dinner, I had to restrain myself! We had heard about a mano from 2 people in the last week talking about how it was now their favorite restaurant and the "hot new place" that people had to try, so when you hear that, you put that on your bookmarks and you go. Atlanta has a lot of selection when it comes to Italian. Plus it's popular for chefs to make their own pasta and long gone are the days where you are allowed to use store bought pasta. So not only do you need to make your own pasta, but the flavors have to be above the rest. This place does that right. a mano is located in a beautiful building that reminds me of the little restaurants attached to a winery. Everything on the outside is made with wood including a little trellis area where you can eat outside with your pets. On the inside, you have booths and tables as well as a bar that many people seem to enjoy sitting at. When you make your reservation online, you can request any of these seats. a mano apparently only recently started offering brunch so we decided to give it a try. I'm going to review these two separately so I apologize for the wall of text! Brunch - We came on a Sunday at 1pm and had made a reservation but quickly realized that at least right now there was no need for this. We and only 2 or 3 other couples were there. That is unfortunate because the rest of Atlanta is really missing out on some of the dishes here. Their brunch menu is abbreviated from their normal dinner menu with about 5-6 items on there. We were hungry (well at least I was) and we ordered the arancini, duck hash, and the carbonara. The arancini were nicely cooked (although I'll admit that I have had better) and came with 4. We used this as our split dish in the middle. The duck hash was excellent and something that you really don't get to try elsewhere. But the star of the show in my opinion was carbonara. I'm glad I was able to try this because they have not only excellent pasta making skills but the mix of ingredients was outstanding. Tagliatelle with house pancetta, spring peas and a farm egg on top. I would go back for this breakfast lunch or dinner. You tell me when and I'll be there! Excellent brunch. Highly recommend it. Dinner- We made a reservation for dinner here and started off with a charred octopus. I don't know what they do with their potatoes but on both occasions that we have been here, the dishes with potatoes were excellent. They are not messing around. The charred octopus was excellently seasoned, lightly crispy and perfectly burnt so that it's not too chewy. Hard to do and they managed to do it. For the main, we went with their fusilli and their cacio e pepe again allowing them to really feature what they do best and that is the pasta. Both were unique in their own way but I have been really appreciating the simplicity of cacio e pepe pastas so that stood out to me tonight. But of course, I also enjoyed the seafood that came with the fusilli! Since we were extra hungry, we also ordered their ribeye steak special which had a nice seasoned crust on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. I would say that it was a touch on salty side so if they could tone that a bit on the outside, this dish would be elevated. Save room for dessert because they have a granita a la mode which is exactly what you think it is... kinda like a sorbet on top of a vanilla gelato. I find granita hard to describe but once you see it you'll know what it is. Don't underestimate this, this was delicious! We also got the butterscotch bread pudding which was wonderful. If they topped it with just a tad more butterscotch on top, it will suit all those with an insatiable sweet tooth like me! This will become one of our favorite restaurants and one that we can easily see frequenting a lot. If you haven't been before for either dinner or brunch, you'll have to make sure you go! Would recommend the carbonara as well. I usually prefer the cocktails over the wine. Not a fan of the home-depot orange color theme they've got outdoors right now, but that doesn't detract from the ambiance too much. Young woman with very-cool tat of lady and cat being beamed onto a UFO) was bubbly and friendly and knew the menu very well. Every course was excellent: a peach-and-greens salad with herbed buttermilk dressing; a mini course of pasta with cheese (It's obvious they make their own pasta or hire someone to make it for them....nice and chewy and perfectly cooked.) My eggplant parm was among the most unique I've ever had....it was actually light, with very little cheese. Lots of modern designs tied in with simplistic a wooden features. The menu, although limited (which isn't a problem at all, I'm assuming this is for a good reason) is amazing. Everything we tried, apps, drinks, entrees, became shockingly delicious with every bite. Definitely a nice spot for a date. I have a gluten intolerance, and they were very accommodating with GF options (they do have GF noodles). One thing to note is that the parking is very small and limited.
