A Mano has our heart. After living in Atlanta for a few years, when we decided to move, leaving A Mano was honestly one of the hardest parts. A Mano is one of our favorite restaurants ever, Anywhere in the world. It's that good. First, the ambiance is great. It's that perfect blend of, if you show up dressed up, you'll feel right at home, but also if you just throw on jeans and a tshirt, you'll also feel right at home. Their patio and inside are both super nice. The service is amazing. We never had any issues with anyone or any part of our service. Everyone was always super helpful, gave great recommendations, checked on us the perfect amount, but weren't overbearing, just top notch experiences every time. Now drinks, we don't drink much, but they've got some very classy cocktails, plenty of spirits to choose from, and to top it all off they've got several Mocktails (non alcoholic)! The mocktails are great for those of us who don't drink or are the DD, but want something more classy or interesting than a coke on the rocks they also have a large selection of desert liqueurs with an option for a mini flight to pair with dessert. Now for the food, they've got seasonal specials, all great, and they've got their staples. Honestly, everything we tried at a mano was sensational. We've eaten our way through their entire menu at this point and fell in love with every dish! We've had some pretty incredible Italian across the US, in Europe, and in Italy itself, and I may be sacrilegious for saying this, but a Mano give Nonas a run for their money . All their pasta is hand made fresh (hence A Mano meaning "by hand"), and it's evident in the taste. Our favorite appetizers were the burrata and the carpaccio. The burrata was smooth and creamy, served with basil and a tomato jam that tied together the flavors so incredibly well. The carpaccio was well flavored. Our favorite dishes personally were the carbonara, and the pan roasted salmon. The carbonara is perfect, the guanciale was cooked to perfection, the pasta was always cooked perfectly (never too al dente or too mushy), and the egg yolk complimented it all so well. The salmon... oh the salmon... perfectly crunchy skin, flaky fresh meat, served on a mashed cauliflower bed, which was way better than it sounds. Again, those were just our favorite dishes, we've tried it all and it's all amazing. Honestly the thing that we thought was the most, average, was the chicken parm. It wasn't bad, in any means, in fact, it was great chicken parm, just nothing out of this world, like pretty much everything else on the menu And finally, the desserts. Honestly, we still dream about the desserts the banana Foster's bread pudding, immaculate. Warm, smooth, caramelized banana syrup goodness, complemented with some vanilla gelato, just insane. The lemon ricotta pound cake is also to die for. Perfectly dense, not too sweet, just everything you'd want. We're both foodies, and we've been blessed to eat some incredible food around the world, but a Mano... a mano is the whole package. We often rate places just between the two of us, and to get 5/5 you've got to hit the nail on every category, and honestly a Mano is a 6/5 everyone we ever brought to a Mano fell in love as well. One of atlantas best for sure. We look forward to every trip back to Atlanta we can, especially since it means another a Mano visit! read more

The location is deceptively small - it is truly small but there is a decent amount of seating for what space they have inside, they have multiple cute patios. I had dinner outside and midway through dinner they did turn on a heat lamp as well which was nice. The lighting added to how cozy the patios are. For dinner I had the steak frites which was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, I do wish there was a bit more steak and chimichurri but it was still a decent meal for the price ($23). The fries were also seasoned well and I enjoyed the various flavors of the different complimenting condiments they serve this with. I enjoyed the lemon ricotta pound cake for dessert. The cake was mild and not too sweet, the buttercream with this was divine. I also ordered a lavender limonata mocktail with my meal, this was good - I would have enjoyed more lavender but it was well made. Waters were left unfilled and our glasses would be empty and we would need to ask our server several times. I asked for a diet coke refill as well as they didn't really notice I was out. I ordered the bucatini and the fried potatoes. From my last review, I was hesitant on the bucatini and I shouldn't have ordered it. I thought the first time was an off night, but the dish felt lack luster and forgettable. The fried potatoes were the redeeming part of the night and they were DELISH. The restaurant has a small parking lot on the side and in the back but it's very small and all filled up. We took uber which we glad we did. I made the reservation ahead on their website. I specifically chose the dining room when making the reservation but it didn't show up in the system. I had to search my email to show the seat choice proof to the host. The place seems to be always full, especially in the weekend so reservation is recommended. We got seated promptly after the hiccup of reservation and system. The rest of the dinner was good. The server was very attentive and friendly. She has a good knowledge on the menu too. When we dined in, it's still bright outside so maybe that's why the ac is very strong inside. We don't feel so cold while eating but while waiting for the food, it was very cold. They take max usage of the space. So you might sit really close to the next table, especially when you're on booth seat. The room is not big and tight so it's pretty loud when the space is packed. We had: + Drinks: zero proof cumberbatch and a beer + Appetizer: - Fritto misto (which are calamari and fried zucchini). This dish tastes good. We're not a fan of zucchini but it's fried and seasoned well. - Creamy broccolini: it's the special dish of the day. The cooking is fine but the broccolini is too chewy to bite in. + Entree: - Bucatini alla bolognese - Carbonara - Flank steak frites + Dessert: bananas foster bread pudding Except for the broccolini quality, every other dish are good. Food was incredible! We visited for our anniversary and we were highly impressed. The staff was so gracious and helpful. I ordered the 2020 Nebbiolo for my wine choice and the as my entree I ordered the pan roasted salmon (flash fried cauliflower, olive relish, citrus, herbs) and charred cabbage (romesco, olive relish, toasted almonds). I think the 4.5 you see on yelp is based mostly on location, management, and trendiness. The food wasn't bad, but don't drive from North Fulton if that is your focus. The Good: The atmosphere is nice. The female brunette manager was in tune with her restaurant and recognized when something wasn't right when the waiter (elmers hat) wanted to be on his couch at home. The salad was well executed. Some of the pasta was cooked al dente. Sat upon arrival with a reservation. The Challenges: Our waiter was not attentive or good at his all around job. He was vaping the funny stuff out back when we parked so that might explain it a little. We were not offered outdoor seating which would have been nice. The carbonara was a pile of overcooked thinly made pasta with an egg on top. There were four peas and six pieces of pork. Most of the undressed pasta was left in the bowl. Probably the worst pasta dish Ive had in a while. Carbonara is hard to screw that egregiously. The pesto dish lacked seasoning. The food in general was mediocre. Our waiter ignored empty glasses and didn't provide silverware. The menu lacks diversity. The manager eventually noticed the bowl of pasta sitting there and asked about it. She then removed it from the bill which was nice, but the damage had been done. You are paying for location for the atl trendy's here. Nothing about the experience was at the level of an Il Galio in SS or even Grana which is just ok for me. A Mano was a disappointment overall. I made a reservation on Resy, we were on time. The reservation was at 8:45 pm. We didn't get our entrees until after 10:00 pm. We received our appetizers promptly. The waitress was great! Then, we waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. 3 couples around us had appetizers and entrees and paid their bills before we received our entrees. They all arrived after we had, and finished before we received our food. I asked for the manager who was rude. He was very insincere about our inconvenience. He collected our plates and said he would return to talk with us. There were 2 of us. He returns and does not offer anything for our horrible experience. I've never had an experience where the lapse was so bad and obviously bad and have the manager not offer anything. Not even a genuine apology. I've been here several times and had been satisfied. This will be my last visit. Sadly, it's only 2 blocks from where I live and I gone occasionally since it opened. read more

I will say the outdoor area is very hot and muggy, not letting that affect my review because i did know i was sitting in the outdoor area when i made my reservation. I will say if the heat affects you, don't sit outside. The drinks were amazing. The hugo spritz is hands down 100% the best one I have EVER had (like i need the recipe)! The burrata was delicious. My boyfriend got the carbonara and it's the only restaurant carbonara he's ever really enjoyed. I got the pesto e pomodoro and it was incredible. i have a severe nut allergy and this pesto had no nuts which i am always so excited and grateful for, but aside from that it was perfectly el dente and the flavors were amazing. a mano has definitely been on my places to try list so was excited to have a girls night dinner here with friends. The parking lot was tiny so anticipate parking on the street or taking an Uber if you can in the event you don't luck up on a spot. The restaurant was pretty intimate with different seating areas, we enjoyed dining on the patio. Our server was super attentive, personable and made great recommendations. To start we ordered the Fritto misto which was pretty good but the calamari was a bit on the gummy side along with the Brussels sprouts. ALL of the cocktails were delicious. We ordered the slime time live, whispered serenade and the satin slipper. For our entrees my friend ordered the fusilli e scallops and loved the freshness of the pasta but did not feel the entree was very flavorful. I felt the same about my carbonara as well. I visited after recommendations from friends. We got the calamari, pesto pasta and carbonara. The calamari was classic, tasty. The carbonara was creamy, good flavors. But the pesto was underwhelming. There's raw thinly sliced squash on top and the pesto was underseasoned. Overall, pasted bland and I wish there was more to it. I can see the appeal especially when it's sunny outside because there's an outdoor patio (dog friendly). I'd come back to try again and order a different pasta. One thing to note is that our experience was odd because our waiter didn't really give us recommendations or say much. Entree: Carbonara 4/5 I was torn between the scallops and the pesto, but nothing on the menu can be altered/substituted. Which is totally fine with me. This dessert is comforting and decadent without being rich and nauseating. It had a solid carmelozed crust and a soft middle that melts in your mouth, thanks to the ricotta. The cake itself is perfect. Add a bit of the basil garnish to each bite and you're elevated to level two. The basil seriously rounds out the dessert. Like a reminder that the dessert is only part of the show, not the only performer. Then. THE BUTTERCREAM. ... I hate buttercream. Well. I did. Until today. The homemade buttercream is beautifully whipped, with lemon zest sparkling across your palate in every bite. This was such a nice experience. Amari: Xila 5/5 If you like sweet and deep soft (herbal, mild heat), get this. This was another hard decision. The menu of apertivos/digestivs was robust. I was drawn to quite a few, but the carmelized pineapple with hibiscus was winking at me. In addition to bromelain helping with digestion (especially meats), I know clove and hibiscus can assist with lowering blood sugar and blood pressure, respectively. I totally regret not making my way here sooner. I was attending an event nearby and decided to stop in. There were a few parking spaces behind the restaurant and along the side, but street parking was available as well. I arrived a little after 6 and they were busy. I opted to sit at the bar. I reviewed the menus online previously and saw they had extremely creative cocktails. One in particular, the prosciutto e melon peaked my interest. The thought of Prosciutto in a cocktail scared me, but the bartender described it as a melon margarita with a hint of salt. It was delicious! They had a few specials for the evening and I chose the stuffed jalapeños. They were topped with bacon and came with a delicious sauce. For my entree, I decided on the fusilli e scallops. I browsed reviews previously and it seemed to be a crowd favorite. It was absolutely delicious. The dish included spinach, mushrooms and scallops in an amazing cream sauce. My entree took longer than expected, but the customer service was pleasant overall. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at A Mano and will be returning soon. read more

After seeing all the cheesy and egg porn pasta posts on Instagram, and stopping in for a few pop ups, I took the day off and dined in for lunch. Unfortunately, all those cheesy egg porn pasta posts are only available at dinner. But there are nice lunch specials and a great dog friendly outdoor patio. I started with the garbanzo cucumber salad which was super fresh and tasty - a bit heavy handed on the garbanzo beans versus cucumber ratio, imo but otherwise I enjoyed it. The Roman Sandwich was classic - simple and basic, but nothing mind-blowing. However, the combo sandwich/salad combo was a great deal - also came with a snickerdoodle cookie, for just $14. I also ordered the baked pasta - (fusilli and meatballs) for $12. I'm missing these pre-crazy time prices - not sure how the lunch menu looks now but I really enjoyed the meal for the price. I was looking forward to dinner based on all of the positive reviews but it was very disappointing. It started bad with an odd table for 4 that faced a window on the patio that seems more like a waiting area than a place for dinner. The highlight of the meal was the kale Caesar but the rest of the meal was a let down. The carbonara was not a proper carbonara and tasted more like butter noodles. The buratta was fine and the chicken parm was a novel take but not great. The bucatini was fine but a little on the small side. The biggest disappointment was the "phony Negroni" that tasted more like a $10 juice. When I told the server that the drink wasn't good (she didn't ask even though I barely touched it) she literally couldn't care less. read more

Took my wife out for a birthday dinner and we sat on the heated patio. Ryan's service was top notch and we had a blast. For apps we shared the fried artichokes, fig salad (unreal how good this was), and the salmon tartare. The mains we had were chicken parm and carbonara. The in house pasta is always delicious and the chicken is always perfect and juicy. Another FABULOUS experience at a mano a few weeks ago. I dined by myself at the bar on a Saturday night (no reservations) and had a great time. The bar tenders were so helpful in making me feel attended to. It's often awkward to dine by yourself but they make great conversation. You know what else they make that's great? FOOD! and Mocktails! That evening I enjoyed the carbonara with a side salad and some vanilla gelato for dessert. The carbonara was delightfully creamy once I was able to stir the egg yolk around myself. The cheese was perfectly piled on top aswell. My gelato enormous and I couldn't finish it all, much to my disappointment but I tried! I'll be back as this is my favourite authentic Italian restaurant in all of the Atlanta metro area. read more

It's not a very large indoor seating space, but super cute and cozy. There is seating in three other outdoor areas. The dish looks well made, however the sauce was way too salty. I couldn't end up finishing the dish. Nevertheless; I'm keeping it a good review mainly due to the rest of the entrees and the wonderful service from our server (did not catch her name), she was very knowledgeable and courteous! Honestly, I came to the restaurant with 4 other individuals and none of us were impressed. I ordered the chicken parm and got a side of pasta since it did not come with it. The red sauce tasted sour for both the chicken and on the side of pasta. My sister ordered the carbonara which had no egg, when asked we were told it was to keep the dishes consistent. Hers was flavorless. My mother ordered the bolognese which seemed to be the best thing at our table. She also ordered the fried artichokes which were fine as well. My friend ordered the meatballs and beet salad. The meatballs had potential but lacked flavor all together and needed salt. The beet salad was sour and she said something was off with the beets. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye which was a bit chewy and did not seem like a ribeye cut but was okay flavor wise. We also ordered focaccia which was over cooked, flavorless, and dry. I was extremely disappointed as someone recommended this restaurant, and had good reviews online. I was looking forward to it. I immediately messaged my close friends and let them know DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I wish there was an honest review to help me before I wasted money. read more
