Recently, I had a last minute alteration that I needed a quick turn around on so I walked into Martin Cleaners. The man behind the counter was super nice and asked me when I needed it by. I told him expecting him to laugh or tell me that I'm crazy but to my surprise he replied, "no problem". I couldn't believe it. When I returned to pick it up , it was perfect. Excellent job. 2 Stars only because of the sister in the business. Over the past 2 year we have taken plenty our clothing to this location. On occasion there were errors on their part that were handled very professionally when the sister in the business was in the front. On one occasion my daughter asked for an alteration to sleeves on a blouse. The seamstress came out marked the sleeves and left. When the item was picked up and tried on the sleeve were over 1 inch shorter then marked. The brother right away took no responsibility and said that's what was asked. My daughter tried to explain to him that his seamstress pinned correctly but did not complete job right and now blouse ruined. The brother started to get agitated, raising his voice and said they would not compensate for ruining the blouse. The sister intervened and arranged for credit for ruining the blouse. We continued to give this place business. Only entering when sister in the front. 2 weeks ago took clothing in and pointed out spots on a jacket and a pair of pants. When we picked up clothing the spots were not taken care of. Again, the sister apologized and said they would do over. When I went to pick up the clothing the brother before getting getting items said next time you pay. I said don't worry there won't be a next time. I am extremely disappointed with this place! Not only is it expensive but their service is Terrible. I'm fuming in my car right now. I left a pillow case and a new pair of pants to be sown from the side from Top to bottom Because they have a slit. I specifically told him I wanted the sown shut. . Not only did he tell me he didn't know how much he was charging me when I left the items, but when I returned a week later on a Saturday to pick up my garments, one slit was 3/4 sown, the other was halfway! Really? I'm supposed to wear pants that are sowed unevenly? When I realized, I walked back to his bussiness. He didn't want to deal with my concern, and just handed me a portion of my money , as if he was doing me a favor for free and told me to go elsewhere, instead of addressing the issue. I live around the corner and it was my first and LAST time here. I took a fur Armani sweater and a brand new Tory Burch sweater to get dry cleaned. When I got home, after picking them up, I noticed the fur on my coat's hood had been absolutely ruined! Parts of the fur turned into clumps! I can never wear it again; I was absolutely devastated. I won't explain the, rude, ordeal the first time, but here I was last Thursday dropping off six garments. Two of those six was a new tailored business suit. And to top it off the woman at counter told my mom who was picking up the dress that the dress was too old AND she charged her. I have been a loyal customer for the last two years. I take $65 to $100 in clothes weekly. I took a $350 white silk blouse to dry clean and they got dye on it. The owner tried to say that it was already there but there is no way I could have possible gotten dye on it because I was no where near any dye. It's a white silk blouse, I'm sure if the stain was previously there he would have marked the stain as it's in front of the blouse and it's impossible to miss. He tried to remove the stain for two weeks and only made it worse. When I asked him to compensate me for the blouse he went off on me. I asked him if he was sure he wanted to lose a $4,000 a year customer over the $200 I was asking him to comp me and he continued to be rude. Needless to say, I will never go back. read more
