Because of his incomplete and improper repairs on our snowblower I inspected the driveshaft to see if the repairs were completed satisfactorily...and they were not. On each side of the gear box retainer pins and washers were loose and unsecured. So not only did he not repair the snowblower...when he broke the lawnmower...he didn't repair the lawnmower properly. I described the problem and the man said it would be $65 for the visit. The $65 would be applied to the repair. He gave me a couple estimates high and low based on what I said was wrong. I thought it was iffy that I received a return call from another number. On top of the computer voice it did not seem right. I called the 312 number back and I asked the name of the company. He said it was Ace Appliance Repair. I asked for their location and he said we don't have a location. If they don't have a location then my guess is that their location is Sketchville USA. I wanted to support a small business. Hills Appliance Repair says they are on 80th Place. I also noticed that the reviews for this company are all 4 years old or more.

Given that we are due to officially move it to replace the other dryer in less than two weeks, this was definitely a snag we didn't need. So, before my head started to spin I did a quick Yelp search in the area. The choices were almost none, except for Hill's, who already had 4 other positive reviews. In any event, I called on a holiday expecting to get an answering machine, and surprisingly got Albert (the owner). He was so, so sweet, and was able to schedule someone to come out the next day! Damen (Albert's grandson) showed up right on time, and had it diagnosed and fixed in under 15 minutes. Seriously?! He was so kind, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. Plus, the repair (which is under warranty for 90 days mind you) did not break the bank. I would highly recommend Hill's for any of your appliance issues.
