To be fair, some cuts came close, but in most cases, once I washed my hair, I couldn't make it look like the original cut. However, after I get a cut at Salon 212, my haircut falls into place day after day until the next cut. In addition, I get many compliments wherever I go! And, as if all that weren't enough, despite this salon being upscale, the professional and non-professional staff are all extremely down to earth and nice. I put on their robe, put my belongings in a locker, and headed downstairs for my 50 minute classic head spa with an added curl relief service. Gabby told me that it is a shared space downstairs so that we will be whispering when talking. I didn't mind this at all, and it did not take away from my experience. When I laid down on the table she put a warming mask on my eyes, which was glorious and began the whole process. She worked on my scalp the most - massaging, gentle scraping, using one of the vibration machines (sorry, don't know what they are called), and the water fall halo. All of it was AMAZING. I felt so relaxed and just entirely in the moment. The mini shoulder massage and facial were fantastic as well! As others have said, I wish it could have gone on and on! Afterwards, I went up to their blow dry bar and did my hair for the day. Even that was a lovely experience in and of itself. It was just the perfect me time I needed. Thank you Aura Head Spa. I needed a doctor who specializes in the treatment of African skin, which easily scars and hyperpigments. A few customers in my hair braider's shop recommended her. Dr. Downie successfully treated my melasma because I have not since had a recurrence. Dr. Downie is both my medical and cosmetic dermatologist. I drive over and hour and a half from Eastern Long Island to see her. She has performed on me many cosmetic procedures, which beautify my skin. I use the skin and hair products she recommends. My scars have reduced significantly, and my hair is now growing like wildfire. I have never received more compliments from strangers about my image. All staff are friendly and professional.
