I've been going to A Northwest Dental since they opened up in our Shoreline neighborhood years ago and will be a forever client. Dr. Lee and his team are the best. Each person is kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and professional. I recently fractured my tooth over the weekend and left the office a voicemail and text. As soon as they opened Monday morning, the receptionist called and got me scheduled the next day. They also offer dental packages for those who don't have insurance via their employer. I know this b/c I love to eat as Yelper and have the fillings to prove it. They're very friendly here, and they clean teeth well. I trust Dr. Lee with my teeth. He's cleaned them for over 5 years. If anyone says they've had a bad experience here, don't believe 'em...(real talk, it's probably because they haven't brushed their teeth enough.) Excellent service and dental expertise. Dr. Lee suggested a bonding technique to repair a broken crown and chipped teeth. The appointment was less than an hour for 4 teeth repaired. I am sorry I didn't write this review sooner! My son came home from college and wanted to get his teeth clean that week. His dentist was busy so he found a coupon for a free cleaning and Mr. Lee saw him. He came home very upset and said his wisdom teeth needed to come out that week. Mr. Lee told him a horrible story about his teeth needed extraction or they could bore out the other side. I went in and talk to Mr. Lee and he told me the same story. I felt I was at a car dealership, with all the pushing to make me buy. I took my son to my family dentist and they said he was fine and could take up to 6 months or more before an extraction was needed. It was a great learning lesson for my son! Don't believe everyone and get a second opinion! I will not call this dentist a Doctor! read more

I have been seeing the same hygienist (Lora) since I was 4 years old. She is the best! She recently moved here and I followed her once again. On my most recent visit I found out I had a cavity.... so I got to know Dr. Lee and not just my awesome hygienist. Dr. Lee and his assistant that helped fill my cavity were great. I was pretty tearful during my appointment because I was trying to be tough (turns out I'm not) and I really did not want Novocaine. Of course, I was unable to make it through without it. Dr. Lee was attentive and made the process as painless as possible (no injection site soreness!). I will continue to be a repeat customer (I love Lora) but I will also recommend them to my friendsl. I would not recommend this office. I will preface saying I have a huge phobia of dentists - and after my last visit here left in absolute tears never wanting to go to another one ever again. I didn't even want to brush my teeth! I drive from Shoreline all the way up to Lake Stevens now to a dentist I've been seeing for the last 10 years, just because I know they know how to treat their patients. When I mentioned - several times - that I have a sensitive gag reflex, the lady still managed to shove the x-ray paddle as far in the back of my mouth as she could, every time. (And really? Do you really only have ONE size? Every other dentist I've been to have smaller sizes for children or people with smaller mouths, and they take pictures of my teeth just fine with them, without threatening to make me barf up my meals.) They had me in some room in the way back, chilling with a huge oxygen tank. One lady checked over all of my teeth. And then they moved me to another room, where all of my teeth were checked again?! I scheduled my husband's appointment simultaneously with mine - we always do this. For some reason, they only kind of poked at his teeth, talked to him some, and sent him out the door, but gave me x-rays and cleaned my teeth. We were scheduled for the same thing? They said I needed a cap on a back tooth (and universe help me, I'm not even sure this is true anymore). Worst experience ever. Numbing agents DO NOT work well on me, and I told them this. It takes a LOT to get there, and it takes a lot to keep it there. Every time it began to wear off, I would let them know. And I swear there was this growing frustration every time I stopped the procedure. And the temp cap popped off the very next day. I refused to go back and have them fix it. Worse! When the perm cap was going on - which is supposed to be easy-peasy right? - somehow cotton got stuck to the cement. But the lady doesn't tell me this. She just starts SCRAPING at my tooth and PICKING at. And it HURTS. And I'm like, WTF are you DOING? She does this for ages, and I am actually crying by the time she finally admits that there is something stuck to my tooth. They have to numb my mouth to drill it off. It hurt for a week after. So, no. Never going back. The receptionist is very nice. UPDATE: Had my teeth checked recently, and according my dentist and the x-rays taken, the cap wasn't even placed properly. I've also asked to be removed from Dr. Lee's mailing list and text reminders - repeatedly - and yet I still get them like clockwork. read more

I was in excruciating pain due to one of my molars. I called, spoke with Sierra. She understood my situation and did everything she could to work me into their busy schedule. 1 day later I was in for a consultation, Dr Lee was amazing. Very informative and detailed with everything he was explaining. They then got me in 5 hours later to get a root canal. As a new ex-patient, let me just say first off that I received great care from Lora when I had my cleaning and initial exam. She was awesome! However, when I came back for the treatment plan, I encountered a horrible experience with the receptionist. There was no privacy while I was talking about my healthcare and financial situation as she had me stand at the front desk to discuss. When she couldn't answer my specific questions (this is not my first rodeo) she said I would need to speak to the dentist. Well, no kidding! Why would a receptionist talk to me about a treatment plan? (not that she introduced herself or title - but she was at the desk so that makes her a receptionist to me). This was weird. I was sent to the back without explanation, and sat in the chair. Dr. Lee came to talk to me but I was lying in an exam chair facing the wall while he was on my right. It was so uncomfortable I couldn't see him while we were talking, I was sitting there having a business discussion and I'm in an exam chair. What was going on?! He explained that I would need 4 crowns, and when I asked for a picture book of crown work he has done (as he was recommending 2 frontal redo crowns because of "softening") he said he usually does crowns at the back of mouth and that he wasn't able to take pictures. Sounds hinky - what does that mean? How are you going to do my front ones then if all you ever do is ones at the back?! Then someone behind me said that she is sure that I could go and find someone in Seattle who does the best crown work and that they will have picture books if that's what I needed. I asked who was talking because I couldn't see her - again with the weird situation of talking about my treatment plan in a non professional manner by me in the chair, doctor too close on my right and the receptionist out of my sight. I did make another appointment to come in but left feeling very out of sorts. After all this, they sent me a letter saying that I was no longer able to receive dental service from Dr. Lee. They said I had accused Dr Lee of talking too loudly and 3 witnesses deny this. I didn't know they were in the room. Also in the letter they noted that I said multiple times that I was uncomfortable - as if somehow this is my fault. This was my perception. I was uncomfortable and forthright enough to tell them so but they did nothing to assist me. If you ask me, my questions were out of their comfort zone and responded to in a hostile manner. I am a patient wanting to be an equal partner in the treatment plan. My $5000 would be revenue for this office, why wouldn't I be respected enough to have a sit down conversation with my healthcare provider. No, instead I received a stand-up meeting with a receptionist at the front counter while there were other patients in the waiting room. I don't appreciate having my medical and financial information discussed in an area that is public. It is not ok. Isn't this some type of violation to boot? If I had been brought to a room with privacy and treated with respect instead of what I received this review would never have happened. But treatment planning is a big part and should be taken seriously by all healthcare professionals. Check Healthgrades.com. There are national standards in customer service for healthcare providers. I would highly recommend Dr. Eric Lee at A Northwest Dental in Shoreline. I've been seeing Dr. Lee off and on for about 13 years (I've moved round - otherwise I would have been more consistent). Whenever I need complicated work, I come to see him because out of the handful of dentist I have seen in the past, Dr. Lee is the one I have the most confidence in. I had many cavities and fillings in my youth and now that I am in my late 40's some of those old fillings have evolved into root canals and crowns, and my last dental problem was very difficult because the molar broke and there was not much tooth structure to work with, but Dr. Lee was able to save my tooth!. Krissa at the front desk and dental assistant Sierra are always cheery and professional (not sure if I spelled their names right). They also get you seen right away. One time I had an urgent situation and I called and was scheduled for that same day. I know Dr.Lee often stays late to make sure his patients get taken care of. I went to this dentist because the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. They also accepted my Citi Health card, to the tune of $2000 by the time they were done. I went in for a crown but as it turned out I needed three crowns, on upper and lower and both sides of my mouth. Within a couple of years of having the dental work done I realized I had no 'bite' anymore. I called the office and was told to come in. When I had the work done it was under noisy and dusty construction, but when I went back in it was a gleaming showplace. From the minute I sat in the exam chair, the assistant was explaining this was not their fault. She gave me very painful x-rays, and asked if I had the mould from the work they did before. Of course I didn't, why would I? Apparently they dont' keep records of x-rays on file there? That's very odd. She said I was aging and teeth change with age. I told her that when I had the work done I was 49 years old and my teeth worked fine. Now at age 51 I couldn't even take a bit of pizza since my teeth don't line up. Next Dr. Lee came in. He said the same thing (not their fault) and that I only had two molars to chew with. Crazy! They'll take your money, in my case $2000.00, but after that you're on your own and they claim no blame.Dental patients beware and pick another dentist! read more

But Dr. Lee is always friendly and he talks to me about what he sees and recommends for me. The worst part of seeing a dentist for me has always been getting the shot for a filling. I've had many over the years as I love sugar. I have been seeing Dr. Lee for more than 10 years and have not had any cavities since I started. Somehow, he got me to actually floss every day (which I now love doing) and my teeth have done great. I have had to replace some old fillings from 30+ years ago, and Dr. Lee does a really great job. He pre-numbs my gum and the shot doesn't hurt. I don't know how he does it. My kids go there too, and they both like Dr. Lee. I highly recommend him. read more

I've been really impressed with the care I've gotten there -- very state of the art, and at least a dozen years ahead of the practice I previously went to! The first treatment Dr. Lee did was to make a crown for an implant that I had had put in in 2013. I go to this dentist because they are good, Dr. Lee has one of the best hands around the industry which is why I only allow him to do the dental work for me and my family and no one else. There was an issue with one of my recent appointments (JUNE 17, 2014). A northwest Dental calls me and asks me if I can come early for my cleaning appointment. I agreed on a 4PM appointment, drove an hour from Bellevue to Shoreline and dropped everything at work to make it. I show up and little do I know that I was passed on to a completely different person without my knowledge! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I learned 2 hours later that he took a higher paying procedure instead and put me to the side for one main reason, MORE PROFIT! It's just plain old wrong and uncalled for! and I was even told this"WE WILL DO YOUR CLEANING FOR FREE NEXT TIME! Bullshit! it's free in the first place because my insurance covers 100%. If you want to be passed around to other personel who has never worked with you and you haven't met and if you want to be passed around because they want more profit and money, go to this place!
