Bad experience - big mistake hiring this company. The first TWO appointments Daryl was no-show and no-call. Aggravating, I was sitting here waiting for him both days - big waste of my time. I should have followed my gut then and went with someone else but gave him a THIRD apt and he finally showed up. Installation morning Daryl is loud banging really aggressively on my front door. I shouted "I'll be right there" Less than 30 seconds later even harder banging! I have a front door bell clearly marked but I guess that wasnt obnoxious enough for him. Was a huge rush job from start, sloppy work, very disappointing. I had prepared PLENTY of open of workspace for them but Daryl HAD to park right over a big oil spot in my driveway. I asked him (at least twice) to back his truck up 3 feet so they would'nt be stepping in the oil and tracking it into my house. He refused and completely ignored my ask, rushing around like his hair was on fire. Should have told them to leave after that ugly very contentious start but I'm a reasonable guy and I went along with install. Mistake!!! Oil got tracked into my garage floor that I had to clean up. The Kitchen faucet - I told Daryl on estimate meeting that it's rusted up under there, he assured me "he has a special wrench that he can tighen down on that and can easily handle that no problem, piece of cake" Wrong! His guy hacked and sawed with sawz-all, banged with hammer and screwdriver and also pry-bar for almost 2 hours. Crazy.. No "special wrench" was used that I saw - his guy left a several deep gouges and lots of scratches all over the top of my sink. Damaged the sink, can't repair it, scratches are too deep. I tried.. AND the day after they left I went to use my garbage disposal and I hear loud clunking and grinding noises. Attached is the picture of the chunks of metal, plastic and debris they left IN my disposal! It's the broken parts of the old faucet... I had to fish them all out - this company is incompetent, sloppy and careless! You would think a plumber would know not to put metal chunks in the garbage disposal right? - this one does not. The Water Softner - the guy that did this work Danny, was pleasant so this is especially sad. He did'nt bother to connect the brine tank overflow hose - just left it hanging there with nothing attached to the valve, even after I specifically and clearly asked them both about softner hoses locations. I got "yeah, sure whatever, your gonna love it" and ignored me. Rude and condesending. That would have caused a flood if the unit malfunctioned. EVEN WORSE he installed the electric power pack cord pinched tight in between the upper cap and lower housing - instead of through the opening in the back of the unit where it's supposed to go. That would have been an electical short and serious fire hazzard. Very sloppy work all around. Of course Daryl suddently became pleasant and calm at the very end when time to get paid - almost $2000 dollars. If you like to be treated rudely / poorly and ignored and if you are OK with sloppy rushed work and eqipment installed wrong then A-Plumber is is the company for you.. He sent out Silas. Solar was professional and got the toilet fixed in no time. It would have taken me twoday. Being a guy, I tried to fix it myself. I had all the wrong parts! (Lol). Wonderful company, I called and talked to Daryl first thing in the morning, I told him I had a clogged drain, we had same day service. Silas arrived and introduced himself right away, he did an excellent job, he was friendly, polite, told me the game plan and was able to fix the problem and gave me things to watch for. We had a flood in our garage which appeared under the hot water heater. We called A Plumber because we had used him before and felt he was honest and reliable. We assumed that the hot water heater needed to be replaced although it was only four years old. They came in and replaced the heater at a cost of $950. After they finished the job they told us that our Water Softener unit was leaking. The water came back after they left and took the same path as before. The water softener company came out to check their unit and said that it was not leaking and discovered that the water was coming from the wall. We called A Plumber to come back and they said that this was now a different leak. The water was flowing in the same direction and under the hot water heater. They couldn't find where the leak was coming from so we had to call a leak detection company. The leak was located from a broken pipe in the wall. A plumber came out two days later to repair the leak. The came in with a jack hammer to break up the concrete in the closet, took the clothes out of the closet but did not cover anything in the room. The leak was fixed and we had a room covered with concrete dust. We had to wash and dry clean all of the clothes in the closet and clean everything in the room because of the dust. When we spoke to the owner about our disappointment that we spent the money for a new hot water heater he said it was protocol to replace it if their is water underneath. Our complaint is that they did not look further to confirm that it was in fact the water heater, Had they done so we would not have had to lay out the money for a new heater that we did not need. On top of that the mess could have been avoided had they covered everything in the room with plastic. Needless to say, we will not be calling A Plumber again to do any work in our home. read more
