Have been customer over past 5 years. Scheduled appointment at least 10 days in future. Given appointment time between 10 am to 3pm. I asked for a decrease in appointment window. Friends employee stated this was not possible. As days went by, I concluded my business will be appreciated elsewhere. Even if a window was given, I understand if customers have more urgent issues. Decided either Friends just can not handle customer demand with current employees. When I called to cancel the 5 hour window, then I was offered a more defined window. I recently bought a new dishwasher and paid Lowe's to come to install. Unfortunately, they couldn't install because the shut off valve was frozen and told me to contact a plumber. He then gave me friend's plumbing phone number. I called you to come out to change the shut-off valve(s). In the meantime, my kitchen sink kind of had an issue with slow draining. It obviously had a clog. So in order to install the new dishwasher, the drain obviously had to be unclogged before installing the new dishwasher. Jay & Jarrod came out, they replaced the valves, unclogged the blockage but when it was time to install the new dishwasher, that's where the problem started. They did not even open the manual to read the instructions and just shoved it in at a slant instead of leveling it & adjusting it and DID NOT even bolt it in on the sides. So there was a HUGE gap on the sides and was sticking out. The dishwasher is the same size as my old one. Jay suggested that I can buy a side guard trim to fill in the gap which I had trouble finding online and in local hardware store. Then he said the plug/outlet was in the way. I was very skeptical as this didn't sound right to me, so I ended up calling someone else to come and paid an extra $300+ for them to install the same new dishwasher and they installed it CORRECTLY in less than 15 min and now there is no gap, no need to buy anything extra as Jay suggested. Therefore, I was out a lot of money for a simple project which should've been done right the first time around. I figured, plumbers are supposed to be knowledgeable on installing a simple dishwasher!! Don't get me wrong, your plumbers were "friendly and knowledgeable on plumbing" but NOT at all knowledgable on installing appliances! read more

I was in a bind. I had a hot water leak under my home. Dunedin Water was kind enough to call me and let me know that I was losing a 100 gallons of water per hour. If they didn't call I would never have known until I got my next bill. I called Friendly because of reviewing their reviews and because of them promoting they are a long time family business. Their technician Tom came for about one hour. He said we needed to get a camera guy to find the leak which made complete sense. Had to wait 2 days for him to come. Found the leak and marked it on the kitchen floor. He was there for less than an hour. I agreed out of desperation to have them fix it on the spot. Cut through the floor. Replaced about a 7 inch piece. Put a bag of quick dry cement. Took less than four hours. Total man hours. Initial visit 1 hour. Camera guy 1 hour. Fix the pipe 4 hours. 6 total hours. Materials. Piece of copper pipe and a bag of cement. $2495. I think it's safe to say now that this old guy who just recently moved here just got taken totally taken advantage of. Maybe a mistake on the pricing? I am asking to review my job and hopefully you did make a mistake on the pricing. For a company to call itself Friendly and family owned, you certainly weren't too friendly to my family. I can say that Tom was a nice man but he and his company should huddle together and do me right. I don't know even know if lawyers charge $400 an hour. When you need to make a quick decision you sometimes get burned. I fell for the urgency created. read more

We called Friends Plumbing to replace a water heater. We removed the old one and the new one was ready nearby. We were quoted $1300 to install. We were shocked and i asked how much they charge per hour and the tech told me we dont work like that and charge by the job. I sent the tech on his way and found another way to get it done. Total time to install was about 2 and a half hours. Thats about $520 an hour! I dont think Doctors get paid that much. This was skilled labor, yes but doesnt require a PHD. I will not call them again i would not recommend them to anyone as their prices are outrageous. read more

Reached out for a quote to replace a hot water heater, The quote with the "member discount" was $1690, It's ok if that's the best offer, but the employee said this is the best price around, no one could do lower. Went elsewhere and got a quote for $600 dollars lower. Would definitely recommend to look at multiple quotes, because they were on the higher end. Also buy your own Hot Water heater, Lowes and HD have many in stock, no need to spend +$500 more for whatever they were charging. I choose to have the valve, cartridge and handle replaced with Moen parts. David was easy to talk to, patient and answered all of my questions. My hot water was coming out brown, a tech came out and informed us that it was time to replace the water heater. I wish I could remember our techs name he was absolutely wonderful. He really cared about his job and making sure everything was done correctly, after draining the nasty brown water into our shower he actually took it upon himself to clean the shower and left no trace he was even there, one less thing I had to worry about. He found our water softener was installed incorrectly and the previous company rigged the water lines to "make it work" he suggested it be removed, I'm so glad he caught that and didn't try to sell me another softener just to get money. In the past I hired Friend's Plumbing to install a toilet for me, which was not done correctly, so they had to come back and correct their mistake. I therefore decided to give them a 2nd chance by scheduling an appointment with them, and being told I would have to wait about a week until they had an opening, so I said that was OK with me. Today 3/21/24 they were to come down between 2 PM and 4 PM to fix that toilet they installed, and also a leaking bathtub faucet. 4 PM came & went and no one showed up or called, so I called them and was told they would be down around 5 PM instead, as they were still on another job, so I said OK again. A short while later their Manager called telling he was cancelling my job, because I complained. They should not have scheduled me for a service call in the 1st place if they did not intend on showing up. It was New Years Eve and the worst tragedy happened. My wedding ring was accidentally flushed down the toilet. It was awful. It was valuable but the emotional value was priceless. They actually estimated my issue at more than 90% + less than my previous quote who tried to tell me that not only would I have to pay over 16k to fix the issue but I would need to hire a contractor for thousands of dollars more to repair all of the damage they were going to create. I called Friends plumbing for a second quote and not only did they come right out to diagnose the issue which I may add was the total opposite of what the other company told me was wrong but also fixed the issue at a very reasonable cost. Had a clogged toilet, after 4 different times and 3 days later that they showed up finally got a toilet to flush, still not right. After they left I noticed a bottle of pills missing, called the police and filed a report, called Friends to talk to a Manager, never heard back from them. They will not be coming back to my house.
