Having a plumbing issue in the middle of the night is not fun. First thing this morning I consulted Yelp for an emergency plumber. Since I needed a plumber today, my first call was to Today's Plumbing. Shawn advised me he was already on his way to a job but could likely fit me in this afternoon. He took my name & number and said he would call me this afternoon to schedule a time. Leaving the water turned off I ran errands for the morning and sure enough around lunch time Shawn called me. We set an appointment for 3pm and just after 3 he arrived. He got right down to the problem and quoted a price. The guts of my toliet were bad and were causing the problem. The price he quoted was reasonable, included parts and labor, so I told him to go ahead and start. 10 minutes later he was done! The bathroom was clean & he explained what was done. There has been a problem with our kitchen sink for a bit so I figured while he was here maybe he could fix that too. I might mention here that my handy-ish neighbor hooked up our kitchen sink when we got a new one so I suspected that was probably part of the problem. Shawn quickly assessed the issues with the kitchen sink plumbing - there was more than one.. thank you neighbor - and told me what he could do then and there to help the problem and what we could do ourselves to fix the other issue. After he quoted a price, again reasonable, he got started. Snaking out the main drain line for a kitchen sink is no picnic on the 4th of July let me tell you. This was dirty, smelly, hot work. Shawn explained everything while he cleaned out the line and gave us some more suggestions on future maintenance of the plumbing to prevent future issues. When it was all said and done, I got two problems fixed by a very honest and knowledge plumber who discounted the service when I paid with cash. I have a few other plumbing projects planned - garbage disposal and new dishwasher - got estimates for these as well, again reasonable!! I will be calling Today's Plumbing again soon for these projects and any future repairs! read more

I called due to a toilet leak and Shawn was at my house within the hour. Honest and up front about the suspected issue, he quickly got to work... only to find the problem was bigger than expected. He took the time and explained what was going on before updating his estimate, which was quite fair. Once I agreed to the new estimate, he again got to work and our plumbing problem was soon a thing of the past. Bottom line- I was super impressed and would highly recommend him to anyone. This review is long overdue because we have called Shawn with Today's Plumbing for various issues over the last 5 years and have always been so happy with his work, expertise, responsiveness, and price. We had a faulty tankless heater that had a multitude of problems. Shawn went above and beyond to address it, repeatedly, working directly with the company so that we didn't have to, and spending many weekend hours in our garage so that our toddler could have a hot bath. We replaced the unit, Shawn did the installation, and we have not had an issue since. He has helped us with leak detection and toilet replacements as well. We've used other companies but won't again. Don't confuse "Today's Plumbing" with "Plumbing Today"! They are not there same and we did not have as good of an experience! Just call Shawn. He is the best. read more

I was housesitting for my Mom in Palm Harbor. I noticed a leak under the kitchen sink. Regular handyman was on vacation so called Today's Plumbing based on great Yelp reviews. So glad I did. Shawn the owner was on vacation but still arranged for Fermin to come, within 3 hours! Handyman had diagnosed a bad faucet so I ordered a new one online. (as an aside, not a good idea!) Shawn gave me a quote over the phone to install the faucet. But Fermin found a bad valve and replaced that too. Turns out the faucet didn't fit for many reasons and I ended up buying another faucet locally (shoutout to Les at Home Depot at 19 and Curlew). Fermin had to come back the next day and got it in successfully. He even had made some calls to his plumbing supply folks to try and make the original faucet work. Yet when time to pay, I was only charged the original quote, despite Fermin spending 4+ hours, with 2 visits, extra calls, and the valve replacement. Fermin did excellent work, and was so careful to clean up. I just can't believe how service oriented, professional and honest these folks are. It is so refreshing. Specifically we needed the now-dead garbage disposal replaced and a newer version of our kitchen faucet installed. After a mutual miscommunication regarding the schedule for the aforementioned work was resolved, the work commenced quickly and efficiently and within the quoted budget. He returns calls promptly, calls on route, and either fixes what's wrong at a reasonable rate, or as in my washer drainage problem (as mentioned by the appliance company I have to use for warranty), told me flat out that nothing was wrong with my plumbing. Even though he was here quite some time, since he didn't have to fix anything, there was no charge. He only charges reasonable rates when he actually has to get supplies, and do the work. He is professional, pleasant, and I enjoy finally finding a plumber I can count on after over 25 years in Pinellas County.
