I have had several opportunities to assess Todd's work over the last couple of months and he is both talented and priced fairly. This is not to say work is inexpensive, we're talking automobiles after all, but he is less expensive than the dealerships and he comes to you. Gotta like that! I've had him work on 36' RV, upon which he's given a full engine tune-up, completely bled the brake lines, service the gas tank and oil reservoir, and the generator. Runs better than it ever has. I couldn't be happier. He has also worked on my wife's 2006 Mazda. She broke down on Alaska Way. We towed the car home and called Todd. We talked about symptoms and agreed that the likely culprit was the alternator/voltage regulator assembly. He came with the part and knew just how to get to it, which required removing a whole bunch of stuff from under the car. He buttoned that up at like 1am. The man is dedicated. She later broke down again and since it was with my child in the car, he dropped everything to rescue her. Again he knew what it likely needed and showed up with the part to get her back on the road quickly. We later schedule service with him to do her front brakes, which he noticed were quite thin when he was doing the alternator job. The convenience of a mobile mechanic cannot be overstated. My only complaint would be that Todd isn't always super punctual. But I've gotten to know him and his situation, if you will. He's a single dad and primary caregiver to two children. His skills are in constant demand, it's difficult to say exactly how long a job will take, and there's a flood of customers vying for attention. If you can be flexible on time, he's a great option, and if you've got a legit emergency, he will be there. Otherwise, relax, he's gonna get to you and the price and convenience make it worth it. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! I should have known better looking at his yelps during this project. With his history of classic cars and stories that Todd told us about his Grandparent's cars, I paid for him to rebuild my Grandma's 1956 T-Bird that I inherited when she died. It was my Grandma's pride and joy, as we told Todd all her amazing stories owning this car. 30-60 days to rebuild the engine has turned into 2 years... 2 years of an emotional lying / no show nightmare. Yes covid has played a part in some delays, but the amount of times this person has "no showed" (beyond count), moved times, showed up late (beyond count), missing parts, left after only working on the car for a minimal amount of time saying an emergency has happened is beyond belief. In December finally had to threaten to call the police to return my engine and thousands of dollars in parts. It was returned. Some work continued with a commitment to complete this job. Writing this makes me sad that I gave him so many chances. I was holding onto a dream that this person would finish a job. Todd knows the stories of what this car means and the trust that was given. When we called other mechanics explaining what has happened, no one so far will complete it not knowing what he has done. Todd has a passion for cars but obviously looking at his reviews and what he has put us through.... I am done....... Unfortunately with a car in my garage in pieces with $10,000 paid in labor / parts and no returns calls or texts. We have everything documented, calls and texts copied and would sue if there was anything to sue for. UPDATE: We've had 2 different mechanics inspect this work. So many items are installed wrong, bent, stripped screws, used parts and I bought new etc etc. Everything needs to be taken apart and redone what's not right. Devastating! This guy's response to me is full of BS. The job took so long because HE DOES NOT SHOW UP! At least three times he said he would be here and just did not show or call. Getting parts was not as difficult as he is making it sound. My son was going to pick up the parts but you insisted on doing it yourself, that way we don't know what you paid for them. I asked for a receipt for the parts but you would not give it to me. I filed a complaint with the Business Consumer Alliance, and they contacted him twice. He will not respond to them. If he keeps appropriate records he should have my address phone and email. I don't believe he ever made a receipt. I think he just pulled a number out of the air. No way did that job cost that much. You just didnt work that many hours to justify what you charged. And yeah, I think my neighbor knows a guy peeing when he sees one. read more

I hired this mechanic to do a new car inspection. There was some issue with getting it done in a timely fashion but honestly I wasn't too worried about it. Upon looking at my payments, it turns out he was paid twice. Because we use PayPal I sent one payment and then he said he needed to verify his account and if I could please resend it, well he ended up getting two payments of 175. I saw a couple other really bad reviews on Yelp about this guy but I decided to take them with a grain of salt and hire Todd with A-Plus Mobile Mechanic. This has been the WORST automotive repair experience of my life. I hired Todd to replace my steering gear box on my 2004 Chevy truck. He failed to show up when he said he would three times. He finally showed up and removed my gearbox, pitman arm and turbo down pipe. Said he would return with new gearbox and fix my turbo pipe. That was 2 MONTHS AGO!! Nov 17th. I heard nothing from him for two weeks. Then he finally responded to me and since then I've heard every excuse in the book from him. Facts. I've paid him $365.00, he disassembled my truck, he has a $1,000 of my parts (gearbox, pitman arm, and turbo down pipe), I'm now worse off than before I hired him. My truck is in pieces in my driveway. I can't even drive it to a repair shop. I've asked him numerous times to just give me my parts back and he has failed at even that. Stay Away at all costs !!!!!! Todd constantly was hours late or a complete no show with no contact. He had to be stopped from working on the wrong vehicle after tearing apart the brakes on my other car. After attempting to charge me 13 hours for just the front steering bushings I was horrified to find out he destroyed my new bushings by "hammering" them in and destroying them. Installed my steering completely upside down and left trash around my yard and greasy handprints on my garage door. Not pleased. Will not use him again or refer him to anyone. I asked him more than once what his fees were prior to him making the trip. But he refused to give me an answer. When he showed up, the only problem I had was that the bolt on my battery cable needed to be tightened. The charge for that was $160! I was pretty sure all it needed was bolts tightened, yet when I asked him how much he would charge, he refused to tell me. Then when I challenged the $160 charge, he started threatening to put a lien on my vehicle and he walked around my vehicle taking pictures. Very very traumatizing and stressful! Thank goodness for Todd. My engine started overheating on the highway, but I made it to work safely where I parked for a few hours. I called Shell first, and they told me to go ahead and buy some engine oil. On way (walking) there, I called an autoshop and they told me since my car was smoking/steaming, it was likely something to do with my transmission fluid but they said they'd be closed until tomorrow. Finally, to get another opinion, I called A Plus and Todd told me he would pick me up from the Shell station so he could bring me to AutoZone, which would have both engine oil and transmission fluid for half the price. Turns out the Shell station wasn't a normal store anyway, so I couldn't purchase either of those things anyway. He picked me up in a van, and I was just now starting to realize that what a mobile service was really like. We picked up some coolant (which was what he thought I needed) as well as some engine oil just in case. Then, Todd drove me back to my car to diagnose its issues. All of this was local, and it's great that Todd lives in White Center too because he knew everybody at AutoZone, as a regular customer of theirs, and got a 20% discount off parts. We drove back to the AutoZone with my car and his and he fixed my car in their parking lot. The problem was a lack of sensors for the heat which prevented the fans from turning on, and also a bad cam end plug which resulted in a huge oil leak (which he cleaned up). It took about 2.5 hours and he fixed both of those issues and helped me order a new radiator cap to pick up the next day. I bought us tacos while he worked and shared them with him afterward. He charged me $360 for the labor and it was about $60 for parts, so $420 total, which is really not bad for a quick fix for some major issues. A Plus gets an F Minus from this customer ... for several reasons: 1. Missed the original time window he was given for doing the repairs; texted 45 minutes after it closed to say he was finally on his way. 2. Offered to send a bill that I could pay online (since I wasn't able to meet him at the vehicle) but instead sent a simple PayPal money request and then stated that he'd have to send the bill when he got home. 3. Agreed to a partial payment of $300 (on a $591 bill) while I waited for the bill but chose to DISABLE THE VEHICLE (without telling me) so it couldn't be moved / driven. 4. Sent an itemized breakdown that had astronomical prices on it and refused to provide a receipt for the purchases or any justification for paying more than DOUBLE what he needed to in some cases. For example: a. The local parts store carries 2 crankshaft position sensors for my vehicle; one is $52.99, the other is $57.99. He said he paid $84.15 b. The parts store carries 2 distributor caps ($13.99 and $18.99); he said he paid $46.74 c. The in-stock distributor rotors are $5.99 and $6.99; he said he paid $16.98 5. Questioning him about the charges brought excuses and THREATS - he says that he'll put a lien on my vehicle if I don't pay the full amount he says he's owed; quote: "This isn't my first rodeo." Long story short, I would NEVER recommend Todd to anyone for any reason based on the experience that I had with him. I am reluctantly submitting the rest of the payment after I post this review and considering it a lesson learned. In the future, I'll call AAA when my vehicle has an issue and tow it to a shop that doesn't treat their customers like they're an enemy or someone for them to take advantage of. Todd was very thorough and although I had told him what the previous road assistance people told me was wrong, he looked into it himself before he fixed it so I didn't get charged for the wrong thing. Called Todd on Sunday, September 22nd to replace my front break pads and rotors. He completed the job for a total of $491 plus tax and a 3% service charge for a total of $565. Upon finishing the job and completion of payment, he informs me that one of my front calipers is cracked and needs replacing and gave me an estimate of $500 to replace it while simultaneously checking my break fluid levels and promptly letting me know that my break system had to be flushed for an additional $300. He then offered to drop the price down to $700 to replace the caliper and flush the break system. While I didn't have the money up front, we had agreed to finish the job on Thursday, September 26th. The day before coming out to finish the job I had text him to make sure the price was $700 and he responded trying to negotiate a higher price which I couldn't understand considering we had agreed on a price. Losing my trust, I called a local mechanic shop and they quoted me a price of $390 to fix the same caliper and flush my break system. I don't know where this guy gets his estimates after claiming that he got in the business to help people and prevent them from getting ripped off. I decided to take my truck into the mechanic shop to get fixed rather than have Todd finish it just to find out that my wheel lock was missing and was necessary to have the rest of the repair finished. I text Todd to ask if he knew where the part was and originally told me it was on the drivers side door and had fallen out when he opened the door last Sunday. I go to check the drivers side door and nothing. I text Todd again and his story in regards to the wheel lock had changed, telling me that he has a master kit and never used my wheel lock. Below you could see the text in which he changes stories. I am under the impression that Todd stole my wheel lock in order to assure he would be the one to finish the job. No response from him, no call back, no text back. If you are looking to pay very steep prices for average mechanic work, this is your guy. If you enjoy necessary parts being stolen from your vehicle, this is your guy. If not, I suggest sticking to a regular and reliable mechanic shop than hire Todd. Five stars is not enough for the exceptional customer service I recieved from Todd tonight. I was southbound on i5 bear Southcenter when I blew the intercooler pipe off my Duramax diesel. Great first impression. Nice guy. Quoted us 1400$ we gave him 800$ upfront. He said he'd be back the following morning parts in hand. Didn't hear from the guy for almost two days. Called and messaged him, he shut his phone off then sent a text saying he'd be here later. We don't want dishonest people on our property and don't deal with flakes that have been paid upfront them bolt with no communication. We drove to the business address. Very obviously some shady stuff going down. Junk cars and cameras everywhere. Beyond security; paranoia level of cameras. Wouldn't want this person back on my property after the song and dance he did. A simple phone call would have been enough. But we feel robbed by the way he conducted himself. I've given him an ultimatum to return our money by the end of today or I'll be contacting the sheriff. Todd is a gem and as honest as they come. I needed my brakes changed and I was not sure if it was pads and rotors or just pads. Todd brought the parts for both and it turned out that I just needed pads. A much cheaper repair but Todd was not phased by that, it felt like he just wanted the right thing for me vs. the right thing for him which is how most mechanics operate. To boot, I had a bunch of scrapes on my car, so much so that I thought I was going to need to replace my bumper at $1,000. Unbeknownst to me, Todd removed all the scrapes with a compound he had and did not charge me anything to do so. Now that is great service, and I am pretty sure he does that for all his clients. I am an avid Yelp lurker but have never before felt compelled to write a review on Yelp. However, Todd deserves the highest of recommendations. The short story is that he went above and beyond what any other mechanic, or any business for that matter, would go for his customer. He is knowledgeable, hard-working, and above all honest. What sets Todd apart from other mechanics is his diligence. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be my go-to mechanic for as long as he is in the business. Now here is the long story. I had just bought this car, and gotten it "inspected" by a shop on the Eastside that specializes in German cars before buying it. This shop had told me upon inspection that I required new accessory belts, rear trailing arm bushings, and control arm bushings on my '92 BMW 318i. So, I bought the replacement parts and just needed somebody competent to install them on the vehicle. I had gotten many exorbitant quotes from local workshops for replacing these parts and was getting ready to pay close to the value of vehicle for the repairs. Finally, I got on Yelp and found this listing with a five-star rating. Almost immediately after texting him, Todd provided me with a labor estimate that was under half the LOWEST estimate I had found at shops. I was a little hesitant as Yelp is notorious for having fake reviews nowadays and his quote was so cheap, but boy am I glad that I went with him. The next morning, Todd shows up at my work at the promised time ready to perform the repairs. After getting under the car and looking at the parts that this other shop had claimed were damaged, he said that the rear trailing arm bushings were in fact not damaged and did not require replacement! He could have just replaced them and pocketed the money but it is obvious that his goal is to save his customers money. He replaced all the belts in record time, and the wretched belt squeak was history! He then moved on to the control arm bushings, and quickly realized that I had ordered the wrong part. I should have ordered the bushing already pressed into the brackets. BMW requires a specialized for pressing the old bushings out and the new bushings into their brackets. He promptly ordered the press for rental, which would be available the next day at 10am, so he would come back to finish the work. Since he got done so quickly, I asked him to look my car over for other potential issues that would be coming up soon. The first thing he did was checked the oil dipstick, and immediately identified that there were metal particles in the oil. He showed me the oil with obvious glints of metal in there. Needless to say I was shocked, since this car had just gone through the pre-buyers inspection weeks ago, and that shop had completely overlooked such a glaring issue that Todd found in under a minute of inspection of the vehicle. Todd volunteered to go grab some engine flush and new oil and filter to try to drain some of the weathered shavings out of the engine. At no charge to me, except the oil and engine flush which he fronted money for, Todd flushed my engine and changed the oil and filter. The next day, Todd texted me a little before 10am and informed me that the press that he was set to rent was arriving late, and he was waiting at the distributor for the tool. Around an hour later, he informed me that the press that arrived was not the one he had ordered, but he was on his way anyways to give it his best shot. Upon arrival at my workplace again, Todd immediately began attempting to remove the old bushings out of the bracket. Unfortunately, they did not budge from their bracket after almost an hour pressing and prying. He then spent another hour sourcing brackets to just push the new bushings into so he did not have to remove the old ones. Todd told me that he had another customer waiting on a repair and then his kids soccer game to coach, and he'd be back by 7pm for the repair. An hour later (about 4pm), I got a call from Todd saying that he had not left because he did not want to leave the project unresolved, and in fact had delayed his next job and canceled his coaching engagement. He spent the next two hours going from shop to shop to find one that would press the bushings. Finally, by 7pm, they were pressed and ready to install. The grand finale installation took under an hour despite still not having the correct press, Todd just used brute strength to push the bushings into place. This review should demonstrate one point: Todd is a certified badass who canceled all other engagements to alleviate a doomed situation. He gave it all he had and persevered. The other stellar reviews on this page highlight his efficiency when all goes right. In this situation, Todd took a nightmare situation and used innovation and creativity to turn it into a flawless repair, even if it took 8+ hours of his time. The best part is, he did not expect more payment. In his line of work, there is no one else out there that compares. read more

I called this mechanic Monday morning asking about his services. He bragged about his great reviews and got me all excited to hire him. Done! I booked him for Friday and sent him all the information he asked, including model, make and my address. On Thursday night I texted him and confirmed our appointment, Friday came and my wife took Uber to work so that we could have the car here available for him. We had our appointment at 10am and he never showed up. I asked him at 11:30 if he was planning to come but he said he was at a doctor appointment (if you have a doctor appointment you simply do not confirm with a client). At 3pm I said, I needed to know if he was still coming because we took the day to figure out the car issue. At 4:22 he says he is still at the doctor and he would come tomorrow. Saturday comes and yep, no response from him. The whole thing was very weird and I simply cannot recommend a person who fails to book an appointment properly or even communicate clearly to a client. *I have text logs of this conversation if needed* read more
