Dave is Awesome! Don't believe the Bad reviews. If you look closely, the only negative things that are said about Dave is that he had a hard time getting back to clients. Think about it. The guy does such good work, and is in such high demand, that he's backed up! But when he does come to work on your car (and this is supported by every other review,) he does an Awesome job! My car has a problem that even this 25+ year veteran has never seen. He's already been out 3 times, spent $500 on a part, which we might not even need, and he's not even going to charge me for it, and is still helping me with my vehicle, by helping me get it to his buddies shop, where he can work on it out of the rain, to try and solve my completely unique, hard to solve problem. It takes a lot for me to even write a review, let a lone a 5 star review. But Dave is knowledgeable, has called me on time, every time he said that he would, and I'm giving him 5 Stars, before my car has even been fixed! As someone who knows a good amount about cars, he has EVERYTHING a mechanic needs to do a first class job, and the Last thing he said before he left today was "I'm not going to Abandon you! I will get your car fixed, for as little as possible. I promise, I will get your car running!" That's dedication, and great service. Absolute loser. First he tells me he's booked out a month, which I was ok with. So I ask him to pencil me in on the next available Monday or Tuesday, as those are my days off. Dave was extremely professional and friendly and he did a great job on our car. He infact went out of his way to explain how to maintain our car and advise us on battery which is very different from other mechanics we have used (who installed a cheap battery and didn't tell us). Dont pay attention to bad reviews here especially ones which said he didn't receive their calls. he is just one guy who gives his everything to all the jobs, ofcourse he won't be able to get to all the calls! just leave him a voicemail or message and he will get back to you. I have a 20yr old Silverado truck with years of dings, dents, bangs, etc. It runs great but looked like crap. The front & rear bumpers were bent and pushed in. The side panels had some minor/medium damage. I researched replacing the bumpers myself but never did it because of the cost of new parts & shipping. Dave fixed it all for a fraction of the cost of going to an auto repair shop or even doing it myself with new parts! Basically he bent, pounded & pulled, the parts back into shape. Sorely overdue review. Long story short, my battery died. The day after New Years. Awesome start to the new year. Couldn't find a single mobile mechanic that seemed to have decent reviews on the interwebs except Dave. He found time for me a few hours after I called and got me a temp fix to get me off the Hill and agreed to meet me the very next day to take a closer look. Next morning arrives and Dave gives me a ring to tell me that he's outside of my office in Renton for my scheduled appointment. Turns out, my battery cables were horrifically corroded and needed to be replaced ASAP. Dave somehow found all the obscure parts (drove ALL over the Seattle metro area to get them for me) and cleaned the battery bay, replaced my battery, cables, and some crazy weird adapter that only Honda dealers carry, and there was only one left in ONE shop in the all the dealers in the area he called. Oh and he did all of this in one business day, in the freezing cold, while my car was still in my office parking lot as I was happily in my warm office. Total costs for 2 diagnostics, parts (note he replaced my battery with a high end exide one), and labor? ~$450. Cheap prices? No. Reasonable prices? Yes. Quality work? Yes. I'd like to mention again that Dave got this done in under a business day while I was at work so that I wouldn't have to take any more time off work and got me a temp fix before that which cost less than a tow to a shop, where it would have sat for god knows how long. I could've been out 3-4 days from work, so he saved me a boat-load of PTO. Also, he REFUSED the tip I tried to give me, because "I'm my own employer so I don't think it's fair to take tips". So here I am, writing the best review I can because this man saved me like $1000 in PTO and got my baby fixed and running in less than 6 hours and then refused to take an extra tip because he thought it wasn't fair. Been chasing this dude for 2 weeks. 4 calls, 1 voicemail, 5 txt's.....and not a single response. Maybe he has gone out of business....but for sure isn't responding to new customers. This happened across the 1st 2 weeks of March 2019. I've used this company twice now. The first time was to change spark plugs and distributer cap. Everything went well, and I was happy with the outcome. The second time, however, solidified our working relationship. He came out with the assumption that we would need to replace the fuel pump. (Approx. $800). However, when he looked at the car, he realized that the pump was fine. He gave me a $40 dollar solution and my car worked great again! Not only has he always fixed my car well, and has always told me that I should call if I have any problems with his repairs but has proven himself to be an honest mechanic that values my continued business more than a quick buck. I cannot say enough positive about Dave!!! I contacted several mechanics (shop and mobile) trying to get an answer re; issues with my Ford F150 truck....what a WASTE of time and money! In the end, the truck was sitting in the drive for a year with still no answer. Finally found Dave's Mobile service drawn to his experience re; diagnostics. I just needed someone to tell me the issue was and I could even do the work myself - I knew it was something fairly simple. In a nutshell, a basic issue that any mechanic with 6 mo + experience and ETHICS should've spotted immediately and would've/should've been able to remedy in an hour. My car wasn't starting last month. I was worried because let's be honest, you can get screwed over pretty badly by a mechanic. After doing a quick search on Yelp, I stumbled upon Dave's business and thank God I did. 1st off, he comes to you which really helps on towing expenses. 2nd, he's a really nice guy. Very helpful and explained everything to me that he was doing. In the end, my car didn't really need more than a jump start but it had been acting funny so Dave could of told me that I needed something fixed but he gave me the honest truth which I really appreciated. On top of that, he drove all the way to Auburn and back, so I would not be late for work, and had my car running again. Dave came out to our house to fix my roommate's car, he was on time for the diagnostic and early for the repair, and was very friendly and understanding about communicating with both the owner of the vehicle and the person who could be home during the day to hand over the keys and payment. He did a quick diagnostic and came back the next day with parts for the repair. Worked on an old truck (I mean ollldddd) and was honest when he let me know she needs to be put out to pasture but set a few settings more optimal for it to run until we decide on next step. Didn't feel at all ripped off and I loved his 'to the point' way about him. He was friendly and didn't make me feel like he was anything but honest. Total rip off. Takes advantage of people who don't know about cars. He may be a good mechanic but he's a horrible and rude person and doesn't deserve any of your money. In the end it was just a bad alternator which I figured out on my own, Dave was trying to do all these other things that didn't need to be done and never checked the alternator. My girlfriend called Dave and set up a appointment for her car. Let me just say that first off I may not be a mechanic but I know a lot about cars and have been working on them since I was 10 years old but I have had zero time due to work to fix my girlfriends car. From as soon as we walked outside to meet Dave he was rude. You could easily tell that he didn't want to be there or help us and not to mention it took weeks for him to call and set up a date and when he did give us a day he ended up rescheduling twice and was then late when he finally came. My girlfriend had called him to find out why her car wasn't starting. Dave literally just keep revving the throttle until it finally started, was maybe a 30 second job. He then says okay how you paying? So I'm thinking great just paid for basically nothing but oh well at least the car is running, so my girlfriend was just going to pay him anyways. He then says that my car needs a turn up without even looking at anything. He starts naming all these parts that he wanted to change. First off how do you know they need to be replaced if you haven't looked at them and second, half the parts he named had just been replaced maybe 3 months ago but because he didn't do it then it was done wrong. As she went inside to get the money the car started idling funny. High then low, high then low. So I ask " why would it be making that noise or what could it be". He clearly already knew what it was but tells me "i can tell you for an additional charge." I say "If you know what the problem is why can't you just tell me it's not like it took him very long to get it started" and he didn't even have to do much and was already getting paid 65 dollars for 30 seconds. He didn't even plug in the diagnostic tool, which was the reason we called him in the first place.out of no where he responded back " what do you know your just a punk ass kid" now let me just say I did absolutely nothing to deserve this comment and was nothing but nice to him until this point. I am a hispanic male who may look young and dress a little "steet" you could say, and I actually do know a little something about cars. I know enough to know that what Dave did was not worth 60 dollars and that he was clearly ripping my girlfriend off. Not to mention he was rude and totally out of line calling me a punk ass kid. You have no idea who or what kind of person I am Dave so you can't go calling someone a punk ass kid, in my opinion Dave is a racist. Just so you Dave know I'm 24, graduated from the university of Washington with all A's and B's and have a very good government job where I've moved up 4 times in the last 2 years because I work my ass off, so punk ass kid that. But anyways I called him out and said he didn't do anything to deserve that money, he says "oh I didn't do anything thats what you think huh" I said " yeah you didn't do anything, all you did was feather the gas until the car turned over" he responds, "well, you don't know how long it took to get here" totally trying to avoid the problem and change the subject. You are a mobile mechanic dude traveling is part of your expenses don't come at me with that crap. In the end Dave stormed off saying " I don't have time for "you people" and that we didn't know what we talking about and for us to keep our money" He knew he was in the wrong and was pissed I called him out on trying to take advantage of a woman who knows nothing about cars. If he truly thought he was being honest and fair then he wouldn't have stormed off like that, he would have waited for his payment that we were going to give him anyways. Have a nice day Dave. I called Dave for repair of my son's car that broke down in Kirkland. I live in Olympia and needed help. He said he would call me back in the evening. When he called, I gave him the address where the car was parked right near downtown Kirkland. He said what address is this and I said it is an apartment. He was quite short and as I attempted to explain where specifically he would find the car he said "I can't just go out there to find this car" so I said "fine, I will find someone else." This is the 2nd time I've had Dave work on my car. Have found him to be very knowledgeable & reliable. My car wouldn't start on a Saturday & he was booked up that day but said he could take care of it first thing Sunday. Showed up right when he said he would & my car was running that afternoon. The problem didn't affect my getting to work at all, which I am grateful for. His prices are more than fair for the services provided. He's my go to guy on car issues now.
