But I'm the type of person who gets really attached to things, probably because I just didn't have enough growing up, so when my shoes started to wear down, I despaired. I looked up best shoe cobblers in Queens and found this place on Yelp, so with a great deal of anxiety mustered the courage to go. And wow, am I completely blown away. Arthur was transparent from the beginning, even going so far as to tell me that the work might be more expensive than the shoes themselves (two pairs of boots and two pairs of sandals; I wore the heck out of them for three years), and that it would be okay if I needed time to think about it. That alone made me trust him. I arrived a week later and the shoes were restored to their former glory, beautifully resoled and all the stains in the leather taken out. I couldn't believe it. I will definitely come back!

He experimented with attaching the velcro using yellow glue(as shown in the photo), which made the sneakers look dirty. He also tried sewing the velcro, but the stitches are poorly done(as seen in the photo). For the top part, he simply stuck the velcro on, which was easy for him, but it did not stick well and kept coming off. I addressed these issues with him, but his response was dismissive: "So what do you want me to do?" I told him to clean the yellow glue off the shoes. I came there with my son and when he started whining I got distracted, then he told me that he had to work and told us to leave. I paid $46 for the velcro that probably cost only $5-$8 per roll, and the service was terrible. He did not solve the problem, and his attitude when I raised these issues was offensive. I regret coming to this cobbler.
