I would recommend this shop %100! Very friendly and honest service. I brought my car in with absolutely no idea what was happening to it, and it could have been very easy to take advantage of my lack of knowledge....but, Danny was very knowledgeable and straightforward about what might be going on. After the diagnostic (which was very thorough as well as free), he worked on getting me the best price and talked me through every option. I really appreciated the way he related to me, and made me comfortable with the whole process. All of the staff is friendly, and helpful. There are two times you need a mechanic: preventative maintenance and "oh, crap." This was an "oh, crap" need when my car decided to not want to drive normally. Oh, and I live 200 miles away. First, open on Saturdays. BIG plus. Second, friendly and not demeaning. Third, honest. Did a quick diagnostic and gave me options on fix it now vs. don't fix it now and try to get home. Likely to make it but no guarantee. I couldn't stay in Houston as long as they needed so I opted to try to get it home. We're I able to stay here a few days and/or get a rental car and go home and back, I'd have left it here for them to fix with no reservation. Daniel Nanez was my service manager and I can't say enough good about him and his mechanics. In the process of repairing my transmission they found other problems; leaky rear motor seal. If this problem had not been corrected and repaired it would have gotten worse and the transmission would have had to be removed again to repair just this problem. His mechanic spotted it and fixed it. Several other potential problems were detected and they were all fixed on my 2004 H2 Hummer. They seem to be knowledgeable in many areas of auto repair. First when we brought our car everything seemed fine, it would take 2-3 days to fix. That turned into 2 weeks because the "manager" Tom kept coming up with excuses of why our car hadn't been touched since we dropped it off. Apparently one of the mechanics had Covid and that's why but he told me on two separate occasions that that mechanic was back and they would start the car. But each time it wasn't true. Then when I pick up the car there's a large scratch on the back bumper and when I try to tell Tom about it his response was, "Theres no way we could have done that" so finally the owner gets involved and he assures me that they will handle it to bring my car back. They'll have the paint fixed at Maaco. It'll only take 2 days. So I drop the car off on Monday and it doesn't come back until Friday. And it looks like a dollar store paint fix. Absolutely terrible. Tom tells us that Maaco didn't fix it one of his mechanics did because Maaco wanted to take the bumper off to fix the paint and it would have taken longer. So his mechanic fixed this large scratch with a paint pen. And it took them 5 days to do it! Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention before we hit 200 miles since leaving the lot, the check engine light goes off again on the same problem that we sent the car in for. The manager is very unprofessional, can't manage his time, can't provide decent service, and just overall terrible. Save your money. Go elsewhere. read more

To be honest, they are very respectful and all but will lie about prices, they want money just like anybody else but they over charge and give you prices that seem reasonable but as soon as they start the work they up the price without you knowing, and then they hit you with the "we do finance"... also I didn't get any help putting my truck on my trailer but on the phone they said they were glad to help, I just wish they were more honest read more

We t to this place for a Transmission flush. Bout a week later transmission started shuddering. Guy told me he'd have drop my whole transmission to tell me what was wrong with it. $500 dollars. I'll never go to this place again for anything. I thought they were better people when I walked through the door. From the guy story above sounds like they run there trick on everybody. read more

I got the total opposite from the other review. I was having transmission problems on my jeep and looked around for a place to take it. They were close to work so I went with them. I dropped my jeep off explaining the problem and asked them to take a look. When they called me back to let me know what was wrong with it I was told that the problem was definitely inside the transmission and they wanted to charge me $500 to drop my transmission and open it up to see what was wrong. $500 was the minimum I was to be charged as I'm sure they would have found something wrong inside. They guy said he just needed my date of birth to authorize them to do this and I said no. I wasn't paying they guy $500 when he wouldn't even give me an idea of what the problem might be. He then put the hard telemarketer sales pitch on me trying to bully or scare me into giving him my info so he could drop my transmission for $500 to "look for the problem" I finally got my jeep back and took it back to my small town/hometown, trading vehicles with my parents, to a mechanic my family uses and trusts. My dad drove it to the shop and they guy put a sensor on it and knew what was wrong in 5 minutes. Apparently there is a sensor on the transmission that was malfunctioning telling the jeep it was over 1000 degrees and this was causing the problem. this sensor is on the outside of the transmission. He didn't have to drop anything to figure out what the problem was or to fix it. Stay away from this place or get ripped off! read more

We have found the service here to be great. They have been repairing our cars here for over 15 years. We initially went here as it was close to our home and a friend recommended them. They have always been courteous and professional kept our cars in good running order over the years and we have had some real problems as our cars were older models. We were not specifically having transmission problems but they took care of what was wrong and got us back on the road. I have a hard time trusting mechanics as I have met my share of ones that just love to see an older woman drive up. It's true that I don't know as much about cars as I could but they the owners and managers there were all patient and explained things carefully to me so that I could leave my car with confidence. read more

We have switched over to A Plus after having some bad experiences at AAMCO. A Plus located the REAL problem quickly (our starter) and had our car repaired and back on the road within a day without costing us a fortune. I love that they are upfront with you. I didn't feel they were trying to take us for a ride or get us to do repairs that were unnecessary. I just wish we had gotten them to do our transmission. read more

If you want your transmission fixed right the first time or fixed at all, please go somewhere else. I had my transmission rebuilt here costing $1700. Several weeks after driving the car I noticed a whining noise and took it back in. I was told that the torque converter had gone out already. I understand that these things can happen even with new parts. I recieved my car back a week later. I drove it for a few more weeks when I had similar issues requiring me to bring it back again. This time they ended up buring out 2nd gear while attempting to find or fix the problem. I recieved my car back again to find transmission fluid dripping from the drain pan bolt. They put on a new gasket to only have it begin leaking which required me to return 2 more times for the leak that was not fixed. After the 3rd time they finally said ''we cannot find a washer gasket that will stop it from leaking, and it's only dripping every once and awhile so it should be fine". I have put on only 15,000 miles since the rebuild when the transmission went out again. I bring it back to the shop and they tell me it will cost another $1000 to fix it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This particular shop warranties transmissions for a year and I was over a year going by the very first time I recieved the car back, but this is not when the car was fixed. It was technically never fixed correctly. This should have corrected for me because it was their screw up that I'm paying for and for sake of their reputation. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Everyone has heard of someone getting screwed over by a car shop, I was the sucker this time. read more
