The purchase included a 10-year parts warranty and a 2-year labor warranty, which was a primary reason I chose them. Our heating system failed completely within just 1.5 years, well within the warranty period. What followed was an unacceptable experience. Despite numerous calls and text messages, the contractor has been almost entirely unresponsive. After the initial breakdown left my family--including young children--in a very cold house, after many calls and text he came to check the issue once but provided no fix and no follow-up plan. My wife said he said he found the issue and will come back in the morning to replace the bad part. Since that visit, he has completely ignored all subsequent communication. This isn't just poor service; it's a breach of contract and a dereliction of his warranty obligation. He took our money for a premium system and installation, then abandoned us the moment his work proved faulty. We were left to suffer in a freezing home during cold weather, which is an absolute failure of a basic HVAC contractor's duty. Do not be misled by advertised warranties. This contractor does not stand behind his work. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic concern for a family with small children is appalling. My main issue was that my previous system was not keeping up with temperature when the hot outside reached above 92 F. I contacted them and asked if it was the system, the duct system, insulation issues or my windows, and they said a new system would fix the problem. I accepted and they sold me a new system. When installing they found mold within the system, so they recommended an air purification system to go along with the HVAC. Having a baby in the way I accepted no doubt to what I asked "if thats on the system, could that be in the ducts as well?" to which they replied "we checked when installing and no issues were found, plus the purification system will prevent that" so I trusted that response. The next weeks the AC upstairs (Damper system) was not functioning and temperatures were reaching as high as 90F inside the second floor. I reached out, they sent a technician to tell me it would be an additional $1.5K to fix. I call them very angry as they never mentioned that and this should have been resolved when installed. They agree and send a crew the next week to fix without a cost. I liked that. It was September/Oct already so heat went down and AC didnt need to work so hard so no issues there. In summer of 2024 the HVAC system could not keep up with temperatures over 92 F - which was my main issue to start with. I called them several times, they sent 3-4 different technicians that tried filing up the gas in the system, switching stuff, or just simply telling me "it was too hot outside and that wsa the issue". After dealing with that all summer I was fed with that and call them angry again, to what they told me "we will send the best technician we have" and they did. This super technician came and told me the duct system was not set up properly, and needed to be updated, with a price tag of $1.5K. I called them angry again since that was my question to begin with when quoting them for a system, and have been ghosted ever since. Its been 3 months now. On a separate story, my family and I have been having health issues without explanation. We did some mold testing here and there with negatives coming up, only to look into one of the ducts directly connected to the system and finding a goooood ole black mold colony hiding in there - even when having a air purification system, and having the installing team they saw nothing when installing. So not only they have costed me 1.5 summers with the same issue I originally had, $13-14k in costs, Health issues for me, my wife and my baby, but they also are now ghosting me and refusing to answer my emails or calls. This for me is as evil as it gets, and should not be even considered within your options for any type of services. After I agreed, they showed up early Thursday morning, around 8:00 AM, pulled the old equipment, installed the new, had everything inspected, tested the system, installed a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector, and where on their way. Total time start to finish, about 5.5 hours! My neighbor recommended them to me, and I recommend them to you! I had another estimate from another company, also very reputable, but they were about 20% more expensive, and at this price point, that's a lot!

Three days later not only did his team show up but Charges the owner did as well!!! Him and his people took care of everything. They were extremely efficient and professiona! They had several obstacles to overcom, such as the opening to my attic was too small to get the old air blower down and replace with a new one. Charles took apart the old one and removed as reassembled the new one in its place, himsel. Charles is one of employers that care about their clients that he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty!! Changed circuit breaker for Unico System. Still had problems with system cutting out. On the third day both Peter and Andy came in and worked on it. Said a wire in a duct had burnt out. Replaced. Claimed was all done. After they left whole house fan ran. Could not turn off or cycle fan. Heat & AC worked. Fan stayed on. . Called to call them back. Tried general contact number several times over several days. Voice mail box full. Have Andy's direct line. Called him. Left message. He returned call and said he will arrange time to come over. Dead air. Crickets. . Looked up Unico Systems contractors. Showed three. (Huneycutt not listed anymore). Checked reviews. Decided on Dulin Mechanical Services. Called them. Explained situation. They said they would make appointment and let us know. The next day Dulin technician Brad called and came over. Brad diagnosed. Tested. Determined Unico System wired incorrectly. Got out maintenance manuals and schematics. Took off all wires. Rewired per specs. Checked wires. Turned on all breakers. Now HVAC system working properly. Fan cycles as needed. All good. I rearranged my entire workday and worked from home specifically to be available. At 10:40am -- with 20 minutes left in my window -- they called to say they were "on their way." I was on a work call and couldn't pick up. I called back TEN MINUTES LATER and was told my appointment had been canceled because I didn't answer the phone. Let me be clear about what happened here: I was home. I was available. I was on a work call for ten minutes during a workday. That's it. And somehow that's grounds to cancel? At no point was I informed that my appointment was contingent on answering a phone call within some undisclosed response window. That's not in any confirmation I received. It was never communicated. They simply decided that ten minutes of phone tag -- during a workday, mind you -- was enough justification to leave a customer stranded after waiting nearly two hours. This is an embarrassing way to run a business. The audacity to call at 10:40am, give a customer zero grace period, and then act like the cancellation is somehow the customer's fault is truly something. The parts came in within a day or so and they came right back and installed everything and made sure every thing worked properly. We had other people work in our house before and they kind of left us high and dry... I wouldn't call them back in other words... We actually signed up for a maintenance program with Nyree and Zaire Comfort. We know that now that they're on the job we won't have to worry ever again.
