Cozy little spot in downtown High Point with some of the happiest people! Stop by for a drink and snack and watch your heart fill! My order was taken quickly and made to order perfectly! I was even offered a piece of cake because they recently celebrated their birthday! My iced coffee was awesome and the decorated cookie was yummy! There are several different spaces to sit and enjoy the shop or work! This is an awesome spot with a great mission! People that are "different" are very capable and deserve to work too!

    And a present for me!

Met a girlfriend for coffee today and I knew exactly where I wanted to go! My friend opted for the Sweet & Spice coffee, a delicious seasonal feature! I never grow tired of a London Fog and this one was super tasty. It was hard to resist the wide variety of baked goods but I had just had breakfast and could not eat another thing. I was able to pick up some locally made dog treats, by The ARC, for the neighbors dog though and an adorable handmade sweater ornament for my tree, made by Azerbaijani Socks. Emilia makes the most adorable little treasures!! Service was super attentive and friendly. There is plenty of room to relax with a group here and the vibe is cozy and peaceful. Love everything about this place!

A Special Blend is a really cool place to grab a cup of coffee or a pastry and hang out. The coffee tasted great, and the service was friendly. Their goal "is to empower individuals and promote a more inclusive society for all." Their mission "is to enhance and improve the quality of life for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by providing meaningful employment and skills training within an interactive community." They also offer lessons to learn American Sign Language (ASL). We will definitely return.

Tasty food and drinks, cozy space, and kind service. During my first ever visit, I was greeted at the door by a staff member and the staff/managers were extremely helpful. I got the delish apple crisp drink and also the spinach pastry. The pastry was flakey and totally hit the spot! I was impressed by the size of the space. There was a room that can be rented by the hour for meetings. Their conference room has a discounted rate for non-profits, which is really cool. There was also a poster hanging advertising the opportunity for to volunteer with the coffee house as a manager/trainer. I just love that this coffee shop provides an opportunity for a population that is often systematically excluded from the job market to get specialized job training and mentorship. In addition to being a cozy coffee shop with lots of laptop loitering space (#1 thing I look for in a new haunt), there was a shop in the corner of the store. The shop had thermoses, local goods, and coffee. I chose a bag of whole bean coffee and the staff graciously agreed to grind the beans for me. They asked me what kind of coffee maker I have so that they could get it for right. I appreciate the attention to detail. I originally came here for a Yelp event and am so glad I discovered the place. I'm looking forward to stopping by the next time I'm in High Point!

It makes me so happy that we have a local non profit coffee shop like this in the High Point area. The location is not to far from work so that makes it super convenient for me. It was my first time here and I got their white chocolate iced coffee which was so yummy. They have a good amount of options to choose from on their menu. Everyone there is so sweet. The cashier even handed me a card that thanked me for being a kind customer. Aside from the coffee, there's a lot of space for you to come in and work if that's something you're looking for!

If you haven't experienced the amazing place that is A Special Blend, you need to put your Starbucks down and make your way there ASAP! We arrived at 7:00a, and the staff was eagerly awaiting to welcome us. The place is so bright and inviting and the drinks we ordered were delicious, but the highlight of this coffee shop is the incredible staff who work hard to make sure you leave smiling. They have so many options on the menu that you will have a difficult not finding something you like! It's very easy to get to this shop and they have a great parking area. My daughter said this smoothie was the best smoothie she has ever had, and that is coming from a Juice Shop junkie!!! I would recommend this place to anyone whether you drink coffee or not!

I was finally able to stop in at the new High Point location for A Special Blend. The staff here are just as wonderful as they are in Greensboro and they gave great service. My coffee was nice and hot. I ordered the Americano and they left enough room for cream, which I appreciate. They also offered to heat up my pastry, which went very well with my coffee. I look forward to visiting them again soon since they're in such a convenient location

Such a wonderful find!! Went today for my first visit. I love that I was greeted at the door. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff and the helpers were so pleasant and helpful. They made sure that I understood the menu options. I bought a sweatshirt and it is so comfy!! The coffee was perfect! I can't wait to go back.

I love this place. I love their mission to employ adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an interactive community setting to enhance their lives and the lives of the community. That makes me feel so special that they can make me a coffee.

Just like dining in, they don't skimp. They pack the sandwich and the to go box full, it was more than enough for a filling and healthy lunch. Their house dressing for the salad is fantastic, maybe some sort of deviation of thousand islands(?), tasty with just a little sweetness. Highly recommend for dine in or take out!

I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.

It's a little set back from the main thorughfare, but now with the food hall and other development happening nearby, I passed it a couple times and got curious about it, so finally stopped in. The building, the parking lot, everything about it is in serious need of a remodel. Curb appeal certainly limited, but I didn't feel that the inside was unclean in any way. Just very old and dated. Places like this often sneakily have some of the best food, so this didn't deter me. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you, get your own drinks, which really is about all I ever want in a sandwich shop. I had the club sandwich with fries. It came on nicely grilled bread with a decent amount of cold cuts, cheese, and bacon. They subbed in honey mustard to replace the mayo as I asked. It came with a HUGE order of fries! The fries were well done, maybe a little more cooked than most would prefer, but they were perfect for me. If I had eaten them all, I would have been very full. Flavor on everything was satisfying, nothing crazy, price was pretty good as well. Overall, I think I would come back here on occasion, for those times where you need "just a lunch" where it would serve me well.

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.
