I found this place from a Yelp Event and loved it. The venue is great. Easy parking, spacious interior, and an amazing back patio. The staff is also super nice and willing to go out of their way to help and make you feel appreciated. I tried the Avocado toast and it was by far one of the best avocado toasts I've had. It looked really aesthetically pleasing and I loved how light the sandwich was. It was the perfect pick me up to start my day!

I always ask for suggestions and this one was a really good one. I asked what flavors of Matcha they had and when she said lavender, I knew that I was going to try that one. Then she said that some people will do lavender vanilla Matcha, and that was really good! Great vibe in a quiet setting with plenty of seating and space to separate and enjoy your time. Once it gets warmer, I will enjoy their outdoor seating as well.

Third visit...always good!!! I can't wait to get some of their lemon ice. Joe is always so helpful.

Such a cute spot! They have really good choices of hot and cold coffee. They have a small selection of food items. My hot Americano with Brown Sugar was really good...not too sweet. They have a small dining area and merch.

Overall, I had a good experience at kindred coffee, and kitchen. They had homemade flavors and the latte I got was not too sweet and had a good coffee taste. The barista was helpful and nice. Inside there was plenty of seating and felt like somewhere you could sit and chat or work if you needed to. If I'm in Jamestown again soon, I'll go back.

Such a cozy gem! A friend and I stopped by Kindred Coffee & Cafe on a Saturday morning around 8:45, and it was just the vibe we needed to kick off the weekend. It wasn't overly crowded, and we were able to grab a cozy little spot in the corner--perfect for catching up or even getting some work done. The space is super clean, thoughtfully decorated, and honestly, the lighting alone gave me life. It's the kind of spot that feels energizing without being chaotic--ideal for studying, remote work, or simply relaxing. We both ordered the Farmer's Toast, which struck that perfect balance of light but satisfying. The hot honey drizzle? Chef's kiss--it really brought everything together. I also tried an iced caramel latte, and it was smooth, perfectly sweet, and just what I needed. Service was quick, friendly, and effortless--always a plus. And bonus points for the location! There's a bakery right across the street, plus some adorable boutique-style shops and other restaurants nearby. It's a great area to stroll around before or after your coffee fix. We'll absolutely be back! Highly recommend.

Second time visiting this gem today and it was just as great as the first visit! The decor is super cute with a community table concept and individual tables as well! The same gentleman working the first time was here today as well. They were super busy the first visit and very quiet today, but the service was just as friendly! I love how they will bring your food and drinks to your table! The food is amazing! First visit I got the pimento cheese and bacon! Today I tried the Farmer's toast! I could have eaten another service of either one they are so delicious! I'm always thankful for a coffee shop that provides more than just oat milk as a milk alternative! Kindred has almond as well! Definitely a great little spot! I cannot wait to visit again!

Kindred is a coffee shop in Jamestown and they have a few breakfast food options as well! I got their chai latte and their avocado toast with microgreens. The avocado toast had a lot of flavor just based off the lemon garnish they had on too and other seasoning. The microgreens also added to the flavor! The chai tea latte was okay I should've customized it some more. I'll definitely go back! They have some outdoor seating too and have a decent amount of space inside. The baristas were very helpful as well!

This is a small hidden coffee shop in Jamestown that is just adorable. It has a rustic farmhouse look and feel. The drinks are served quickly while the food takes longer but it is one of the few coffee shops that offer savory food with your coffee. Its not too crowded so its nice to go to when you want a little treat in the morning or for a quick catch up.

It's #ThankYouThursday and today I wanted to focus on a business that has become a favorite of mine, that I originally discovered as part of a Yelp Event. Yes! Believe it or not, I discover new loves through my own Yelp events all the time, and Kindred Coffee has really become my spot. Whenever I need a pick me up, especially paired with a healthy and fresh bite, I love going over to Kindred in the heart of Jamestown. The Main st. setting, particularly on a nice day, just has that vibe everyone wants to find in their coffee shop. The coffee is made by true coffee aficionados, I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with the owner, Greg, where he dives deep into his vast knowledge of the subject, and I just have to stand by and admire. I'm kind of a coffee rookie, it's not something I drank at all until a couple years ago, but through social and professional need, it's become something I like to have on occasion. Speaking of things I didn't know I was missing, the avocado toast here is simply on a different level. I admit, I consider avocado toast pretty humorous normally. Sure, healthy and delicious, but also... can I not just do this myself? The answer is yes, but, not at the level they are doing it at Kindred. There is a very specific mix of spices and citrus notes happening on their version that I don't know that I could replicate. It is far and away the best avo-toast I've had, and only one of two that I would bother to order. It seems crazy to me that this place is the only coffee shop adorning a brilliant stretch of small town charm on Main street, but I am so glad it's here. I have become a regular, and encourage anyone I meet looking for excellent coffee to stop by. Cheers to Kindred, and THANK YOU!

    Lisa M.

I am a sucker for an affagato and I can't find them at very many places here in the Triad, so I jumped at the opportunity to check out this new coffee shop! This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Greg, one of the owners of Kindred Coffee. One of my favorite things about this place is that it is a family owned small business. I love supporting small businesses. Another happens to be the nice outdoor patio they have, it's a great big space! Greg was super helpful and willing to make me my favorite coffee drink though it was not on the menu. He also explained how they make most of their pastries in house daily except they partner with a bakery for their cruffins which are also brought in daily. Everything from the scones to the affagato were phenomenal and I cannot to come back again!

This food was amazing! So healthy and so light. Cute little coffee shop. Great to cowork in. Nice and quiet. Service was sweet. I found a new spot in Jamestown!

Fantastic coffee made professionally. Real deal. I was here for a Yelp event, but ended up lingering for a while and buying extra food/coffee. I had an iced americano and they executed on it well. It was strong and I could tell that the coffee product quality was high. I also had a lemon cruffin and coffee cake muffin. Both were delish, but I really liked the cruffin. It was flakey and the lemon filling was perfectly tart. The coffee cake muffin was super filling. I ended up sharing half of it with others because there was so much. Not a complaint tho. Complaining about too much delicious pastry would be unhinged. This would be a nice place to work on your laptop or have a coffee date. It seemed to be attracting the post- yoga class crowd. I got the vibe that they are LGBTQ+ friendly, which makes me so happy. I'm looking forward to returning!

The term "hidden gem" can be thrown around often, but this place is truly hidden and really a gem. Tucked inside the Carolina Core Center, you'd never know it was there even if you drive right past the building. It only makes the discovery that much better. Everything was exceptional. The woman behind the counter was warm, funny, and one of those people who instantly lifts your mood. I ordered the Shaken Hazelbee (espresso, honey, hazelnut, oat milk), and it was perfect. It was actually stirred not shaken, and I wish I caught the barista's name because she was classic. As a James Bond fan, I couldn't stop laughing when she said, "As 007 would say, this is shaken not stirred. So this being stirred not shaken, he must go as 700." That absolutely made my day. Coffee was spot on, service was incredible, but the real standout is the space itself. This is easily one of the most relaxing and serene spots anywhere in the Triad. It's huge, with multiple rooms for working, unwinding, or hanging out with friends. Comfortable couches everywhere, quiet corners for privacy, soothing music, and a large covered and cozy patio. The lake and waterfall right next to it take the ambiance to another level. If you want a peaceful, beautiful spot far from the hustle and bustle of chain coffee shops, come here. You will truly enjoy it.

It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. The food is always delicious and seasoned perfectly with FLAVOR. For the appetizer, the Salad Pizza is absolutely scrumptious and was recommended by our server our first visit here last year. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas. There's a bar inside with a TV if you choose to go watch sports and the food here is always on point full of flavor and makes you want to come back and try more things on the menu. You can't go wrong at southern roots.

We just had lunch at Southern Roots and really enjoyed it! I had the grilled chicken panini with…read moresweet potato fries, and my coworker got the Jackson with squash--both were super good. The waitress was friendly and polite, and the place itself was nice and clean. It was a little loud inside, but nothing too crazy. I get takeout from here pretty often, and the food is always consistently good. I didn't get it this time, but I love their grilled Thai shrimp--it's definitely one of my favorites! Definitely one of my go-to spots!
