Visited with work colleagues last week - we had reserved a table and started with three types of oysters - all of which were fresh, and tasted distinct from each other. I also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was creamy and filling! For my entrée I, and most of my colleagues, ordered the warm buttered lobster rolls. I ordered mine with salad and Cole slaw, and it was superb! Very good service. Went on a weekday for a celebration. Server (Astry) was very knowledgeable and answered our questions and explained some dishes. She was very attentive and filled our water frequently. We ordered the mussels, monkfish and haddock dishes with the banoffee pie for dessert. Four of us for dinner on a Monday night. Great parking, which is a huge bonus. Big lot out back. We sat in a booth. All the booths are designed to seat six so it was roomy but surprisingly difficult to hear each other. The restaurant interior has a lot of concrete and hard surfaces so the noise level was higher than expected for so few patrons. Food was delicious. We all had the Spicy tuna tartare to start. It was huge and really fresh. It was also pretty spicy so beware if you don't like spice. I had the fish tacos (2 to a serving) and loved them. Sizable serving and I liked the toppings of guac and house made salsa. Others had the scallops over pasta and also loved it. Dessert was shared by the four of us: banana cream pie. Big and delicious. So fresh, so delicious!! We got the: -Crispy tempura maitake mushrooms: tasty but a little heavily breaded -Lager steamed mussels: the star dish of the night!! The mussels were so so fresh and the broth was so delicious. Loved dipping the sourdough into it -Fried Calamari: crispy and super fresh calamari. I would definitely order this again -Housemade Bucatini: I wasn't a fan of this dish it was very sour. We didn't eat much of this at all. -Pan seared fluke: this was the best plate we had. The fluke was very tasty and the vegetables were fresh. I loved the mushrooms. -Grilled salmon: fish was fresh but I didn't love the bed of mixed grains. -Tuna Poke Bowl: delicious! -Corn bread: yummy, maple butter was a nice touch -Waffle fries -Banoffee Pie: so delicious, I would order a whole pie again. This was our first time at Row 34 to celebrate our elopement, and we were so lucky to have Astry serving our table for the night! Astry knew every item on the menu and how they were made, which helped us understand and make better decisions as first timers - & everything we ordered was delicious! We really enjoyed the lager steamed Maine mussels, and we even got the juice to go so we could dip our breads in it back at home both the fishes were amazing as well and were paired nicely with legumes fit for spring, and I loved that they swap out the menu for each season. We completed our dinner with banoffee pie (thanks to Yelpies recommendation!) and it did not disappoint. We were kindly offered complimentary drinks to go with it for our little celebration. We had no trouble making reservation day of on a weeknight and it was a very nice atmosphere, where we could enjoy our meal and hear each other talk throughout the night. I have been to row 34 many times before, but never this location. This location also brings a great menu with great ambience and a lovely staff. We started off with the tuna tartare. The portion was huge and as always - delicious! For dinner we tried the scallops with spaghetti and it was incredible. I really was not expecting it to be as good as it was. I will have to go back for more! For dessert we had the banana pie. Again - oh my goodness it was amazing. Highly recommend. Always a great night at row 34. read more

7 PM reservations on a Thursday night. The place is kind of noisy and tables are close together. My friend and I ordered seafood stew and a scallops pasta dish. While there were plenty of muscle SHELLS in my stew, there were no muscles inside or otherwise incorporated in my meal. It was otherwise just OK. Certainly nothing I'd order again. Friend's pasta clearly said bay scallops so she was prepared for small, but they were darn near undetectable. Cappuccinos came out cold like tap water. Sent back, they were clearly microwaved. A different server came by to offer a redo, claiming to be an expert, and by golly she delivered a fresh, hot, delicious cappuccino to my friend, and took both caps off the bill. Frankly that's why I rated three stars vs two. I'm sure if either of us had complained about the food, they would have addressed it, but it was all about being disappointed in what we got, not that what we got was bad. read more

Went here with a colleague and absolutely loved it. Had to try the Row 34 oysters. They were from Duckbury (?)--a very exclusive area and they were delicious along with the yummy sauces. We were hesitant to try the whole fish since they said it isn't filet'ed before it got to the table but my colleague did a fabulous job with it. Great flavor! Stopped into Row 34 a couple of weeks ago after work. Really dig the space--it's got that industrial, high-ceiling vibe but feels warm, not cold. Perfect for a date or a small group catching up. We shared the burger and the fish tacos. Burger was juicy and the fries were crispy perfection. Tacos were fresh and light. Good craft beer list, too. Service was friendly and quick. We had a reservation and were sat at the back of the room in a booth where it was very easy to have a conversation (the space overall had great acoustic design) and we shared all of the plates. The server was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. We started with some oysters and loved the briny row 34s from Duxbury and the sweet and creamy mookie blues from Damariscotta the most. The velvety tuna crudo with the crispy shallots, avo and aioli was a really good bite. For other apps we tried the calamari, rangoons, salted cod croquettes, french fries, cornbread, and blistered snap peas - these were all tasty and easy to share but I don't think I would get them again. I liked the raw bar more, and maybe would try a soup next time. For mains, we got the whole fish (sea bass) and the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly, but the whole fish was definitely the star, even if we didn't perfectly debone it, the texture and flavors were so tender and fresh. For dessert, the warm chocolate chip cookie was delightful and the chocolate cream puff was lighter than I expected. The drinks were well mixed but I can't say any really stood out for me. It was a lovely meal (a bit spendy) and I would definitely return for the raw bar and the whole fish and pair with bubbles and wine next time. read more

When you first walk in you see the very fresh raw bar area, where oysters/clams are waiting to be opened as well as cooked lobster, shrimp ,etc. It is very open with a nice bar area as well as numerous tables. We sat in a booth and I ordered water and my friend ordered a Daiquiri ($15). It was a VERY small glass, but was delicious. However it seemed a bit overpriced for the amount given. I ordered the Grilled Swordfish Kebab -$22 - with house made pita, tzatziki, olive chermoula. It was beautifully plated. The grilled swordfish was moist and flavorful. There were a few pieces of squash and peppers between fish that were also very tasty. The homemade tzatziki was very good and the kalamata olive chermoula was delicious. There was a small pita under the kabob and it was covered with most of the sauce and too tough to cut into. I would have preferred it be on the plate where I could tear off pieces if I wanted. But overall I enjoyed the dish. My friend had Grilled Salmon $27 - avocado crema, marinated chickpeas, cumin vinaigrette. It was also beautifully plated with a large piece of salmon on the top. Each of the entrees were a little too salty so I'll make sure i ask my server for low salt options. It seems that all of the servers work together so you can ask any of them for assistance. Always helpful when you go to a busy restaurant. This place was busy until 8pm on a Saturday. Our high-top booth was perfect for our group of 5. The fish tacos came with cabbage slaw, and avocado salsa verde. The fried fish was still crispy. Very good! The lager steamed mussels came with shallots, lemon butter, and garlic toast. They were pretty good. The oyster sliders came with three and had a fried oyster, pickled onions and a chili-lime aioli spread. Tasty but I wish the bun was toasted. The fried oysters and clams were fresh and crispy as well. The regular fries and waffle fries were also crispy and piping hot. The buttermilk biscuit was a huge surprise. I got the Swordfish and my partner got the Tuna poke bowl. The swordfish was covered in so much butter that i couldnt even taste the fish. There was a literal pool of butter underneath the fish! The cauliflower that came with the dish was so buttered that it was a mush. I couldnt even pick it up with a fork. I mentioned this to their manager and they offered us a free dessert, but no meal should be given out that buttery in the first place. The tuna poke bowl was meh. It had too much of a sauce that was actually quite bland and some very strong radish that overpowered the whole dish. We did also get the clam chowder, which tasted only of bacon, and shrimp ceviche. The shrimp ceviche was the best thing we ate this meal and was actually good. Heard great things about this place so I knew I had to go check it out. We started off with 3 different types of oysters: Island Creek, aunt dotty, and moon shoal. Our favorite was the Island Creek. Their spicy mignonette was so yummy. We also were between the cornbread and the buttermilk biscuit and per the waitress's suggestion we went with the cornbread. And boy was it amazing. It had crispy edges and the maple butter was so good with it. For entrees we went with the shrimp banh mi and the fish tacos. I would skip the fish tacos but the shrimp banh mi was so good. They are not welcoming. They do not say come get comfortable and hang here.. I am at the point now where I've been bring my own cushion when I come here. The prices were reasonable. The drinks--A complete mixed bad. The cocktail was good; the wine by the glass choices are limited. The expresso martini was just downright bad. I don't know if they forgot the vodka but it didn't taste much like expresso either. We ordered them with Bailey's and we each felt we were just drinking it but watered down. The food--the tuna appetizer was good as was the beet and squash salad. The spaghetti was good but not amazing. The fluke really disappointed one of our diners, saying it was quite bland. They brought him a complimentary banana pie piece, which was nice but that was just ok. Lastly, we were at a high top for 4. The restaurant was dim lit, and my server was polite and knowledgeable. Started off with a warm buttermilk biscuit - this thing was massive! Had to take half home. Warm, flakey, and perfect. Now for what I came for - the roll. I got the warm roll with butter and I give it a 4/5. The bun was perfect and the sauce was so flavorful, but as for the lobster itself, it was not the melt-in-your-mouth lobster I expected. Took a lot of chewing for a $42 roll. I had traveled to MA via Amtrak and this restaurant was part of a new strip mall just minutes from the Rt 128 station in Westwood. The strip mall was like a mecca of all different kinds of food. This particular spot I'm told is a local hot spot for the bar scene and raw bar. The menu was ambitious and very intriguing - uni toast (you know I had to order it), lots of raw bar - oysters and clams to choose from, salads and sandwiches. This was a seafood lovers dream. Even the variety of beers, ciders, and cocktails were endless. I can totally see how this place is a local favorite. Best part was the relaxed yet chic vibes the entire dining room gave off. Screens everywhere by the bar, great music playing overhead and the modern decor. It's just a huge space! Crudo, tuna nicoise, lox and spreads were the choices we picked and I must say, everything was delicious. The raw bar was my favorite given we got to choose the region of oysters and clams we wanted. Super fresh and just silky how it all went down. Even the plating and presentation of dishes were tres chic. Lunch menu and brunch is available so do try it... though it sounds like the scene is really during the nighttime crowds. Plenty of parking given the location. Your taste buds will say thank you but your wallet will definitely be a lot lighter.
