Celebrated my birthday here and had a great time. Food was amazing and staff were friendly and attentive. Their cacio e pepe arancini appetizer was my personal favorite. We had the salmon and shrimp gnocchi for dinner topped with their smores and rhubarb pie for dessert. Everything was great!

When it's *this* hot out, all I want are 'summer light' bites Luckily A Tavola in Winchester fits the bill! What I love is that everything was so fresh and the menu is everchanging; the night I dined there, Chef Joe spoke highly of the fisherman he got the branzino from and the farmers market he got some of the produce used in that night's dishes from. Some of the dishes I was able to taste (& my phone ate first) were: * Beet Salad - horseradish crema, cucumbers, whole grain vin * Branzino - blistered shishitos, shaved artichoke salsa verde * Halibut - olive oil poached herloom tomatoes, basil, oregano & garlic * Strawberry Shortcake - vanilla white cake, fresh and macerated strawberries, cream cheese whip * Blueberry Ricotta Cake - ricotta, blueberry glaze All of these dishes were complimented by my two craft beers - Bent Water Brewing's Premium Lager on Draft and Lone Pine Brewing's Summer Lights Citrus Wheat Ale. A Tavola, like their food menu, has a rotating beer & cider menu featuring new brews from New England craft breweries and cideries. Incredible food in a warm, intimate space featuring an open kitchen, newly opened expansion and a patio space to take advantage of this beautiful weather! A neighborhood restaurant that is truly invested in the community through collaborations, giving back and even partnering with the local elementary school to run a Seed to plate program to educate children about how to harvest ta garden and turn it's bounty into food for the table - a true seed to plate full circle! They also offer cooking classes, wine dinners, BBQ & Bourbon Dinners so keep an eye on their Instagram and website for upcoming events!

The food was absolutely fantastic. Came with my friend who said the Lamb Osso Bucco was one of the best lamb dishes he has ever had. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and was very satisfied. The portions were great and all the food including the bread was amazing. The bread is made fresh so that was a major plus. The service is amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He was helpful recommending dishes and cocktails and gave his honest opinions. It's a small place and definitely has a romantic vibe. We didn't get to sit at the chefs table but that looks like a fun experience for the next visit. Would highly recommend for a nice dinner out in Winchester.

I have been going here for a few years now and each time I am reminded how absolutely incredible this spot is. The owner gets his ingredients from a local farmers market and it shows. The food is fresh and flavorful and put together with care and love. You can't go wrong with anything you order. They recently expanded to a bigger space but were still able to keep the cozy vibe. They also have an outdoor area for those who want to enjoy the weather. You have to check this place out at least once! You will definitely want to go back time and time again

Our 5 year anniversary of meeting! Returning to A Tavola shortly!

This is the restaurant I first took my son Edmund after meeting him for the first time 5 years ago! Will never ever be more nostalgic. Take him here and Olive Garden every year to remember the first time we met. love this place!

Appetizers were fine but entrees were very disappointing. There were four in our party and all agreed entrees were very basic and bland.

Disappointing after Parson's Table. Food was mediocre and have had much better Italian in Boston.

Ask the Community - A Tavola

Can you tell me what flour is used in the table bread you serve? Like everything I had at your restaurant recently, it was stunningly good. I will be back ... many times. Thank you!

Giancarlo, Thank you, we use King Arthur brand’s Sir Galahad bread flour, a 300+ year old starter and a 24 hour ferment. See you soon

Looking for a restaurant in the Winchester area with a function room that could hold a family dinner of about 20 people. Does Tavola have a room like that? Would any other restaurants be recommended? Thank you. Steve

Great find for Winchester - homemade Ricotta, Bucatini with scallops, clams and mussels were as fresh as it gets.

As someone who loves dining out--and who's Italian and has been fortunate enough to visit Italy…read moremany times--this was the meal of the year. I honestly can't think of another restaurant that captures the essence of Northern Italian cuisine at this level. Every single dish we ordered was exceptional. My advice: go family-style so you can share and experience as much of the menu as possible. The tortellini was outstanding, the pasta with the brandy cream sauce was unforgettable, and the short rib was absolutely phenomenal. Not a single dish missed, and there wasn't one thing we wouldn't order again. To top it all off, the chef came over to our table at the end of the meal to say hello--a thoughtful touch that made an already incredible experience even more memorable. I would put this restaurant up against anything I've had in Italy, and without question, it's the best Italian restaurant in the Boston area. The most surprising part? It's in Woburn, not the North End. 10/10. An unforgettable dining experience

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

This in my humble opinion is the best Italian restaurant in the region. I don't know what's going on in Boston, however, I highly recommend the chicken parm. itsthe best anywhere. and the pasta fagioli is sublime. The owner and chef Giovanni is friendly. The service was top notch and the food was cooked nicely. Our table had the chicken parm, chicken broccoli alfredo and scallops and everyone mostly enjoyed their meals. The reason for 4 stars is the scallops were supposed to be served over mush vellutata drizzled with basil oil and they were served on plain mashed potatoes. They did not tell us about this substitution and we ordered 2 of them. This was disappointing as it was a factor for why I chose to order the dish and I did not finish my meal. Additionally they have a profiterole on their dessert menu I was excited to try and that is no longer available. I'd encourage the restaurant to be more proactive about letting diners know of substitutions during the ordering process and to update their online menu.
