MANAGEMENT CALLED TODAY 05/14 AFTER SET DEADLINE AND BEGUN YELLING AND ARGUING, CONVERSATION DOCUMENTED ALL VOICE AND EMAILS WILL BE UPLOADED. If I could give zero stars, I would. We brought our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek to A to Z Auto Care on March 2nd to diagnose a check engine light related to a slow camshaft response. We were told we needed two VVT solenoids replaced, which we authorized. They billed us for 2.0 hours of labor and charged nearly $900. Barely two weeks later, the exact same check engine light came back on. We brought it back, and they threw two MORE solenoids at the engine, charging us hundreds more and miraculously only billing 1.0 hour of labor for the exact same job. Within days, the check engine light came back on for a third time for the exact same system. We realized we were being scammed and took the vehicle to a real, professional mechanic. The new shop ran a proper diagnostic (see attached photos of their itemized report). They found that the VVT solenoids were NEVER the problem. The issue was simply debris built up on the magnetic ends of the Cam Position Sensors. The new mechanic cleaned the sensors, test-drove the car multiple times, and the issue is completely resolved. A to Z Auto Care sold us over $1,500 in unnecessary parts and inflated labor rather than actually diagnosing the vehicle. Furthermore, A to Z Auto Care operates in direct violation of Ohio consumer protection laws. They refuse to provide legally compliant itemized receipts detailing the brand or condition (new/used/refurbished) of the parts they install. When we explicitly asked the female manager for a proper itemized receipt with diagnostic notes, she was evasive, stalled the process, and falsely acted as if providing a legal receipt was not "standard business practice." They also failed to return our replaced parts to us or have us sign a waiver, another direct violation of Ohio law. We sent a formal demand letter requesting a refund under their own "90-Day Labor Warranty" since their labor completely failed to fix the issue. They ignored it. We are now filing formal complaints with the Ohio Attorney General and the BBB. Look at the attached photos of their non-compliant, vague receipts compared to a real mechanic's diagnostic notes. before BOTH CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS INSTALLED.. only had check engine light on.. after repair had every light on dashboard come up... I had a situation where my car stalled out of nowhere. And check engine light came on shortly after. I was stopped at a light. I went to autozone around 2:16pm to get a quick diagnostic so i know about little of what the problem is. I received paperwork and the only code it thrown was the PO344. I have a great mechanic i trust and everything for 10 plus years because i dont let just or trust just anyone to touch my car. So i decided to stop here and try to get my car fixed quick as i am a delivery driver. That is my job meaning without my car i have no money no nothing. These people do not greet you. Waited 20 mins or so before being even acknowledged.. all i hear some rude guy constantly barking orders and being disrespectful to other workers or family there. Couldnt grt my car in same day because they happened to forget about having my car to look at and they already had possession of my keys. So i was freaking out when the shop was asking me what did i need after checking in and going to el jalapeno next door to waste time. Finally look at my car and says he agrees with my diagnostic i told him i received from autozone but cant do the work until tomorrow. So i come back the next day and im there at 9:20am. Told its going to be about 90 mins for the parts to get delivered. So i wait. About 12:55 i was able to leave the shop.. but 2 minutes down the road.. not only my check engine light comes back on .. i also have 3 other dash lights that HAVE NEVER BEEN ON IN MY CAR IN 6 years i had my car. So i am basically out 6 houra of time... $250 and a car that still messed up and taking more gas than before!... I DONT TRUST THIS SHOP AND WILL NEVER BRING MY BUSINESS HERE! After getting 2 new camshaft position sensors installed this is the outcome. DO NOT GO TO A TO Z AUTO REPAIR -- NEGLIGENT, DISHONEST, AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I dropped my car off at A to Z Auto Repair in mid-December for a new engine change all the components I bought were agreed upon things I bought myself. However me buying my own components was kept used against me as a dig or blaming instead of giving me solutions. Anyways I didn't get it back until January 2nd. Since the day I picked it up, the engine was shaking and the check engine light was blinking. I brought this up to them multiple times and described in detail what was happening, but they kept brushing it off and telling me it was "fine." This went on for six months, and the problem only got worse. They charged me $270 for an intake manifold gasket, claiming that was the issue. That part was selling for $60 at AutoZone. They said they couldn't find one nearby and needed to get it from some OEM source, which already felt off. But after installing it, the exact same problems persisted. Nothing improved. They told me they were doing the repair as a "courtesy," but they still took my money and did nothing to resolve the real issue. Every time I went back or called, I was constantly asking for updates or clarification. Most times, they would say "come back in two days" or avoid giving clear answers. I also repeatedly asked them to reset the oil change light, and they couldn't even manage to do that until I brought it up on four separate occasions. Then in May, the car finally broke down completely--stuck in the middle of the street. I had it towed back to them, and after three more weeks in their shop, they suddenly told me the transmission is out and quoted me $4,000, including $2,400 for a used "low-mileage" transmission. When I asked how they didn't catch this earlier--given that they had the car for a full month of March and I had described clear symptoms--they blamed me, saying I only mentioned the engine. That's a lie. I wrote a detailed list of issues on their intake form, and described everything clearly when I dropped it off. They selectively addressed what was convenient and ignored everything else. I never once screamed at them. Never cursed. I showed up respectfully every time and made it clear that I was a student with limited time and money. When I finally raised my voice in frustration after months of being dismissed, I was told to "calm down." That was after weeks of no updates unless I initiated the call, and after they had the car sitting in their shop for weeks. When I got the car back from their shop the final time, the tires were completely deflated. I had asked them before the AAA tow to inflate them, and they ignored me. After keeping my car for three weeks, they couldn't even handle that one basic request. They also never gave me a full breakdown of the diagnostics. I was kept in the dark the entire time. They would just tell me vague things like "we're doing this" or "we're checking that," but never explain what they actually found. I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I didn't have deep technical knowledge and used that to avoid being held accountable. I am filing a report with the Better Business Bureau and leaving this review anywhere it can be seen. I don't know how many other people they've done this to, but if you're considering this place: don't. They are unprofessional. They are evasive. They will waste your time and your money. And when their negligence catches up with them, they will shift blame instead of owning up to their mistakes. There are way more issues at foot that I did not include from the sheer volume of disrespect I endured from these people. Do not trust them. Do not leave your car here. They don't know what they are doing turn in the car to them to repair after $1500 in repairs we took the car home and the car did not work the next morning. We took the car back towed there and after another $1500 the car did not even work anymore keep your driveway and then you could not start. They told us to tow it back. We said they should tow it paid to tow. They were very rude and told us to go somewhere else. After spending almost $3000 on a car that didn't work even after they took it do not go here. A toZ are a ripoff. They had my corvette for 64 days for head gaskets and Trans rebuild. We'll. They said my engine was junk and ended up taking my 300hp and replacing it with a junkyard piece of shit along with a junkyard transmission. Stay away. By the way. The bill was $7600! read more

My brakes were making an awful sound so I brought it in to get looked at. After two mechanics checking it they figured out I needed a really small part. The owner Tom let me sit with him while he called around to multiple places to try and find it. When he finally did he gave me the keys to his own car so I could drive immediately to pick them up so they could fix it today.
