They are beyond patient with our boys and very caring my boys have lots of sensory overload and they always feel comfortable being there! I thought this dentist would be a good fit at the beginning but I was very disappointed. My daughter has severe dental anxiety and they didn't do much to assist with that. She ended up needing a rootcanal and referred us to an office. Because of her severe anxiety she had to go under anasthesia. They failed to add into the notes that were sent over to ALSO put the crown on during her root canal which now results her having to go under AGAIN just to put a crown on. This could have been fully avoided had they sent over the correct information for the endodontist to finish the complete procedure right then and there. Having to go back under anasthesia for this one simple thing from lack of communication puts my daughter at risk again. read more

I have been going to the Toothfairy for at least 12 years. My young three kids went here and all 6 of my grandkids go there. Not only is the front staffed wonderful the back office personnel are just as great. My two year-old grandson has been going there like a champ and never has a problem. read more

ZERO! I have to changed my ratings from 5 to 0. I tried to make an appointment and was unable to...due to "missing appointments" without a call to cancel. This is FALSE!! I always call when there's an emergency to cancel and I have considerations towards others! My only assumption is when I called 2 weeks ago to schedule my appointments- the rep #1-I was rude and she never mentioned any thing about this. I told her I'd call back to speak with someone nicer. I call back today and rep #2 is now is claiming I can't reschedule due to no shows. I tried explaining to rep #2 that there was a mishap with a rep a few as ago- I can only assume rep #1 deleted my messages. I have other children who attend this dental office and yet they were not removed! The Dentist are attend well with the children but the front reception office definitely needs to be replaced. I am now requesting all the disclosures with this policy! No manager today and have to call back until Monday read more

Took my daughter here as you might expect she was super nervous. However, she ended up having a fantastic experience. The staff was kind, helpful and explained what they were doing to do before doing anything so my daughter had a heads up. The place is very clean and well designed. Having the TV screens overhead was super helpful in making the experience go smoothly for her. Dr. Koo was also very kind, throughout and took the time to explain things to me and the next steps. They then capped our visit off by letting my daughter pick a prize which of course was a highlight for her. Overall, we had a better-than-expected experience here and I highly recommend them. read more

This dental office was great when it was at the old location, but once they moved, they just seemed not to care about their patients. My kiddo has social anxiety, and during this visit, I was disappointed in the staff. When polishing her teeth, the dental assistant seemed to blame my kiddo for getting up because she felt the paste sliding down her throat. Another incident that happened was after having a filling down, my kid( being numb) was holding her saliva in her hand, and the male assistant knew this and just looked at my kiddo. As he was explaining post care instructions, he did not take the initiative to tell my kiddo to go to the restroom. I had to stop him explaining the post care instructions to take my kiddo to the restroom. They need training in how to handle kids with anxiety or any kind of mental disability. Furthermore, responding in a correct way that does not create more stress for them. read more

Horrible service, my wife and daughter were there today a half an hour before the appointment and checked in on standby for 20 minutes pass the appointment time. The staff name Ashley was trying to justify the situation due to another guest needed more time - I work around special-needs too and as I told her what kind of practice are you running that you can't even plan out your client scheduled accordingly.. Ashley stated that they are also low staff with only two doctors and two assistance. This place back in the beginning of this year 2023 and could've probably been a good place as I started coming.. unfortunately something bad changed as of last month. I'm not really one who goes places based on reviews because I like to try new places for my own. I recently moved to Riverside from Irvine and my kids regular dentist seemed too far to drive to, so we decided to go here. We are cash paying patients so the price point seemed fair. My point of concern when taking my son to the dentist was primarily to get my older sons tooth checked as he had fractured it while playing the night before. When I called to make the appointment the secretary advice she had one available slot the next day which seem great and I accepted. Since we had been traveling last almost 8 months I knew my two kids needed there teeth checked to be cleaned, so I took the opportunity to add my second child to the appointment. Day of the appointment: I arrived 10min early with one kid and had my mom help w my other son and waited in the car while my other son got seen. I thought was great, considering there age 3 and 2. But the not so nice receptionist said I had to bring the other kid in also. At that moment I knew it was going to be a challenge for not only myself but also the staff. But I went and got him and my mom for help. We sat and waited in the lobby another 10-13 min before we got called and at that point my kids were getting impatient. Finally got called in but immediately knew the challenge ahead. They worked on one while I had to care for the other all while holding my younger son! It was horrible. I knew from the start it was a bad idea, but they insisted the "Dr." needed to see them at the same time. During the time of the dental check up for my first son(2yrold) that lasted no more than 3 minutes I realize it was nothing more than him getting his teeth brushed and flossed. That was completely disappointing. My kids have been going to the dentist every six months since they started getting teeth at just under 1year old. So I know what the procedure is and it definitely is not just brushing. Kid#2 he's 3years old going on 4. I've taken him to the dentist a few times and unfortunately he's had to have a filling done before. I say this because I know what my son is capable of and I know he can sit thru a cleaning and filling just fine. Well it came to the x-rays. The hygienist said she couldn't get clear enough photos of the teeth because my son wasn't cooperating. Really?!? I just couldn't believe it. I'm at a children's dentist and you can't deal with children, moreover the dentist I was with seemed to have to step away because he also seem flustered at the idea of dealing with my two kids. Can you imagine the stress I was going through?! I ended up having them retake the X-rays and lo and behold the x-rays were done. Next step clean the teeth. Again just your basic flossing and teeth brushing with the same tooth brush he was given to take home. And based on the X-rays, the dentist Dr. Jwahar said that my son had 8 cavities from what he can see but that I should keep an eye on them or get them fixed before they get worse. The Hygienist was gonna check my sons teeth further but said she couldn't do much more because the plastic she put in my sons mouth was too big and my son was choking/gaging. So again, your dentist deals with kids/babies why would you not provide instruments/ mouth pieces for their size? Also I had to remind them that I was primarily there to get his tooth that broke. All he said "it's fracture can't do much, you can cover it but it will break off again so it's not recommended" seriously?!? Zero empathy, or care. I was done! I was over the sense of failure and them not trying to do better. It was the worst! I also want to say that I went here recommended by an ex employee (my friend)and after telling her my experience she knew exactly the Dr. I was talking about (agreed the Dr is impatient with kids, ironic how he works in a children dentist right?) but was surprised at how awful my experience was from start to finish. Needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment and my cash can go back to our last dentist in Irvine even if it's a 45min drive. I'm completely Dissatisfied with this experience I was given and I would highly recommend people doing more research before putting yourself and your children through such an uncomfortable and stressful experience. read more

The doctor was very patient and was able to make my son calm down and enjoy the cleaning. She was also good at educating me and giving me tips for proper teeth brushing for my toddler. As a parent who has a son with sensory issues and within the spectrum, you know that your child is going to the have bad teeth because they are chipmunking their food at an early age. The struggle to brush is hard and to floss is even harder. We went to see our local children's dentist and he mentioned my son has cavities but in order to do the job well my son needs to be sedated. The cost of the sedation would be like $1,200 bucks on top of the dental work cost. With insurance and dental work, it would be around $400 at most but the sedation would cost extra. read more

My 7 year old daughter was tortured!!! Dumbass dentist noticed my daughter still had feeling in the area tooth was going to be extracted! Yes, she used more anesthetic but then proceeded to pull on my daughter's tooth Immediately! She gave no time for anesthetic to do its job! My daughter was yelling in pain and stomping her little legs!!! Crying!!! The assistant pinning her down as if she was an animal!!! I then yelled at the dentist and asked her to stop. I continuously yelled that she was in pain. Doctor wouldn't stop! She didn't stop until the extraction was complete! She then yelled back at me and said "are you questioning my job?!"... "she's a kid mom...she's crying because of the tugging, she's not in pain" I think we all know there's a big difference between a tug and pain!! We then went back and forth yelling at each other! My daughter is an amazing patient! Two fillings were completed before this happened. My baby never moved, didn't complain! Both the Dr. and the assistant complimented my daughter on how good of a patient she was, and proceeded to say how they wished all their patients could be like her! This is the last time either one of my kids ever step foot in this place again! My daughter is one of the best patients any doctor can have. This is a trauma for her that she will more than likely never recover from! Very unprofessional for this doctor!!! read more

Love the staff and the facilities, but the wait time and not being able to schedule afternoon appointments is a downer. I understand waiting 10-15 mins for a scheduled appointment but a 45 minute wait is not okay. If staffing shortages occur, notifying clients or canceling appointments should be in order. read more

If you have a child who is afraid of the dentist I don't recommend this place. They rushed and we're not very friendly with my child, as soon as they saw her get scared and cry. The dentist even told my child (5 years old) "I have another kid waiting for me" I don't see why that is any of mine or my 5 year old concern. No protective equipment at all, no bib , no protective eye wear. Very disappointed with them the last couple visits. read more

My daughter had to come in for an appointment to get a cavity treated. I came in with extreme anxiety about the issue and asked a lot of questions. Dr J was able to calmly answer all of them and reassured me that he was going to use the least intrusive method needed to treat her. During the treatment my daughter didn't even feel the shot given to her and he was able to complete the procedure very quickly. I'm glad I followed my intuition and let Dr J treat my child. We used to love this dentist office, we couldn't rave enough about them, and we still drive 45 mins out of the way because that's how much we loved it here. They stood out from all the rest with their caring and loving culture. But unfortunately there has been a shift and the lack of empathy and respect towards the kids.
