Laura's been doing my hair since 2014 and not only does she do an amazing job, she's easy to talk to, making you feel comfortable and welcome. Allison really saved my bacon! I had a hair appointment with my usual stylist at a different salon, and was notified early that morning that she had strep throat (Feel better Cassidy!). Tira is an absolute hair God. Every single time I see Tira she is an absolute pleasure. She is easy to talk to, personable, always has a smile on regardless of what she may be going through, always professional and polite, and is just honestly amazing at hair. I come to see Allison but everyone I have met has been really nice. The salon is always clean. Allison always wants to provide the best service ever, making sure I get exactly what I want for my hair. She remembers my preferences and I don't even have to ask because she already knows. I came to Carissa at A Touch of Elegance Salon with what i thought was a nightmare of a hair-do.. She took an idea of what i wanted and a week later (today) i walked out of her salon with the most amazing hair color!! I honestly did not think it was going to turn out so good compared to what she was working with. I love my hair!! Its such a cute Salon, with a boutique inside as well. She offers you something to drink and its very easy-going, friendly conversation the entire time. Carissa has been my hair stylist for years! I almost lost her and was devastated. Luckily, she saved my number and called me when she opened her own place. This salon is a small salon. She & Breanna are mainly there and they have do have an esthetician on staff. Her salon is cozy and clean. She really makes you feel at home! I've recommended my sister and brother, 2 friends, and my niece to Carissa. I've changed my hairstyle more than a few times over the years and I've always been happy with how it turns out. And it's always been easy for me to maintain. You tell her how you keep up with your hair and she'll let you know if the hairstyle in the magazine will work for you. She doesn't push the product on you but the product she uses just smells so good that you want to take it home with you. Oh, and when they shampoo you, they also work in the best head/scalp massage. This is no Supercuts but it's pretty comparable to other salons. Well, I usually walk out of there $135 later (including tip). First time customers get 10% off and if you refer someone, you get $10 off. Kids cut is $25 and this includes shampoo (head/scalp massage) and blow-dry. Men's cut is also $25. The reviews on this hair salon don't lie! 5 Stars is well deserved. I was trying to find a new hair place that was closer to home. We all know how tedious and anxious we can all get to find a new stylist. I called on a Tuesday and was booked for a Friday morning for color and cut. There was plenty of parking and it is so cute that the salon is a little home. I had no idea the owner was going to be my stylist but she had no idea how much I was going to love what she did to my hair ;) The Stylist/Owner was very talkative, friendly, bubbly, and very professional. I noticed all her employees were also happy and pleased with being there. The Owner told me she rents out spaces to individuals which makes this place unique. Now on to the cut and color dets.....Love!!! I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and described the color I wanted she hit it nail on! During the whole time I noticed many other customers coming in and out and there hair looked just as gorgeous! I think the name A Touch of Elegance fits this salon wonderfully! Great prices! I normally come here to see Allison, but all of the ladies are so sweet! It's such a charming building, filled with pleasant company, good music, and overall just a great environment to get your hair done in. They use great products and the end result was phenomenal! The color has remained vibrant and shiny, but my hair still feels healthy even though we took my hair way lighter than I normally would. 11/10 would recommend! I absolutely LOVE going to A Touch of Elegance to get my hair done. My first time going there was in July ( 2013 ) and I've been going there ever since. The salon is so adorable. A little house that has been done up as a hair salon. Very cute! When you first walk in you see a clean, well put together salon. They have things to look at while you are waiting, or while you're sitting in color ( jewelry, hats, etc). Just so easy to fall in love with the place. Everyone is so sweet, always smiling, and always say hello. I must say that Laura is my favorite. She's the one that does my hair. I went into ATOE three days after a bad dye job at another salon in carlsbad. I showed the stylist what I really wanted my hair to look like in hopes that she could fix it. I bought a Groupon which can go either way honestly. It was Robin who was going to do my hair and the last Groupon I used was in Temecula and the hair dresser was mean and very rude. Robin however was the exact opposite! She examined my hair, asked questions, looked at my screenshots of hair color ideas, and did her magic! She got my hair looking like a 20-something version of the actual 48 year old me. I had not seen my natural hair color since I was 19! It looks great and natural in every way! But it never fails, I keep going back to Missy. She is so talented and really listens to her clients. She has done amazing things with my hair and keeps me up on the trends. I was so happy to find A Touch Of Elegance! I am new to Oceanside and have been putting off looking for a new salon for awhile now. I called in on a whim the day before I needed my hair done ( during the fourth of July weekend) and they were able to schedule me in at a reasonable time. Keith worked on my hair, I showed him a picture of the color I wanted and he was able to match it completely! He was super easy to talk to and did a great job on my hair. I love it so much! Called in the morning and they were even able to work me that afternoon. Appointment was with Keith...he did an amazing job! Love the color and highlights. Love the salon, but definitely wouldn't recommend Keith personally. I went in before work one morning on a whim and left the salon with wet, frizzy hair. The color came out the way I wanted and the cut was also very good. After the shampoo, Keith gave me a fantastic head massage. I went in to A touch of Elegance hoping to get out with a new, different, feel good about myself hair cut, but unfortunately I walked out not that satisfied with my hair. I wanted a short hair cut, but she convinced me not too but good thing she did otherwise I would have walked out with a much worse hair do. We finally agreed that a cut length to my collar bone would be perfect cause that's the style that's in right now. As soon as she started cutting my hair she was cutting rather slow, not at a pace that a hair stylist that knows what they're doing, but a pace that she didn't know what she was doing. I got discouraged and I knew that if I stopped her it would have been too late. I have curly hair so I mentioned if she can cut in short layers cause I didn't want a triangle shape hair style. Well too keep the story short, she butchered my hair. Parts of my hair is completely uneven and she gave me a triangle look to my hair. And she didn't even cut my hair in layers, or should I say short layers there wasn't a single layer that was done to my hair. I wouldn't recommend going to this place and if you are don't make an appointment with Laura. I wanted to make an over do update, I thank Carissa for taking the time to call me and apologizing for the horrible haircut I received a few months back by laura. I have to say she really cares about her clients she offered to refund my money back which she did. The place isn't bad just a bad hairstylist, I'd recommend this place only because they really do care for the hairstyling they do for their clients. read more
