Daniel and his team of 4 did a great job pruning five large trees, topping, shaping and thinning. Then for fire risk mitigation, cleaning up and hauling away all the material they removed from the trees. They have all the right equipment and skills to do the job well and carefully. Great attention to details. We have a particularly difficult lot that extends down about 75 feet vertically into a canyon on the edge of Mission Valley. When the Santa Anna winds blow, it comes up the canyon at 60+ mph and we have previously lost three trees to the wind. The work included fire break maintenance of the understory, in addition to thinning that improves wind resistance. The substantial cuttings had to be carried on their backs 85 feet vertically up a steep switchback path and to the front at the street where their truck and chipper/grinder were located. We had a lot of bushes, a large elm tree, & many pepper trees spread throughout the yard. Pepper trees suck! Dan & his crew came over & cut down the bushes/trees safely. Put the waste into their chipper & raked the yard clean...then comes the stump remover. About the size of a Fiat. It did the complicated job quickly & efficiently. So happy that I hired A Tree Surgeon. I've always had our gardener trim our big trees and they looked like they had been chopped. I didn't really know any better. But I called A Tree Surgeon because I had an ailing tree I needed advice on so we didn't lose it. He came out and gave great advice and serviced the tree shortly after that. These guys did such an amazingly good job of rescuing my three dying trees last year, that I asked them to come again this year. Dan immediately knew what was wrong with them ( a bacterial infection) and did a thorough job trimming and treating with antibiotics. Daniel and his crew came out for an emergency tree removal. Our neighbor's large, neglected pine tree had fallen onto the side of our house and had punctured the exterior stucco and through to puncture the fiberglass surround of our bathtub. I had contacted 3 other arbor companies and only 1 returned my call! Fortunately our neighbors contacted Daniel and he was on to it right away. He even wrote up an arborist report that we could send to the neighbor's insurance company. Their insurance company said the tree was fine and that it fell from natural causes. Nay Nay! We previously have had trees removed twice in the 25 years we have lived in our home. Both times were disasters because other trees, shrubs, and even concrete drainage gutters were damaged (some of which were more than 50 feet from the job). After securing multiple bids for the removal of this very large 60 foot pine there was no doubt that A Tree Surgeon were the people to hire. Daniel was very knowledgeable, thorough, and patient in explaining what the job entailed and how he could accommodate any special requirements we had. Access to the tree had to be from our neighbors property and the job required removing the tree without disturbing the neighbors chicken pen (20 feet from the tree) or anything on their property. We also had other trees, shrubs, a large dog run, and a permanent swing that were all 20 feet or less from the tree. Daniel assured me that no harm would come to anything other than the pine tree so we chose A Tree Surgeon for the job and we are proud to say that we chose the right people. What was a monumental task due to the surrounding landscape and livestock was no problem for Daniel and his crew. They arrived at 7:30 a.m. and removed the tree without incident. Our neighbor wanted all of the wood chips and wood from the tree, which were spread and stacked per the neighbor's wishes. Dan is amazing! We just bought a home and knew we needed to have a few trees looked at for trimming, but put it off...We noticed a crack in the tree and knew it was time to call. We were referred to Dan from our realtor and he came out right away to give us an estimate. I needed two palm tree stumps removed that were up against our building. while my previous review stands for the previous job, as i mentioned, i would have daniel out for all of our trees as well as rec. him to all of my friends.... we moved so i called him before i even called the moving trucks. he came out promptly and had his best guys on the job. our jacarandas were masterfully cut and the price was great. even if the price was more than other bids (which i did not take this time), i would choose him over other services because he knows and LOVES trees and wants them to be healthy. as a bonus, daniel also helped my sons learn the art of tree trimming and gave us some sage advice on how to hang swings in our yard. give him a call! read more
