I had a glass replacement done at my house by A1 Bay Area Glass. The owner asked me to pay in cash, which I agreed to. On the day of the job, I specifically asked the worker if I would receive a receipt. He told me that the owner would provide one. After the job was completed, I paid the worker in cash. He again told me that the owner would email me the receipt. Since then, I have texted and called numerous times to request the receipt. At first, the owner answered and said he would take care of it. After waiting a week with no receipt, he stopped answering my calls. I eventually had to use my son's phone to get him to answer, and I still have not received the receipt. In my opinion, providing a receipt for payment should be standard practice for any legitimate business. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through. I simply want documentation showing that I paid for the service. I would not recommend this business based on my experience. read more

I used A1 for some shower glass and a door in another shower. Everything went well and they came out and measured and took about a week for them to come back and install. So far everything went well. However, they had the wrong handles on the shower doors and I asked for glass shelves in the nook in the shower which were not done. The installer said they would order the correct handles and come back to install. A few weeks went by and I was told they were on order. After two months I have given up. I am never getting the handles or the glass shelves installed. In my experience I would not use A1 for anything. They do not follow up and I get hung up on when I call and no responses to texts. Find another place and you will be better off. read more

Hi, I don't review much, but seeing the the 3 stars reviews I thought I might weigh in. A lot of the 3-star reviews seem to be from the Covid era...when hiring was a problem. But for me , recently all has been good. I have use A1 Bay Area Glass for two visits for windows that have lost their seals. Both times the service was very good. Full disclosure, they asked me to leave a review, and I am comfortable doing so. Make sure you push them to have the windows clean, free from sealant and stuff, basically the 90-10 rule.....get that final 10% done by being "pushy" read more

They did an excellent job installing the shower door in my bathroom. They showed up quickly with an estimate and was back the next week to do the installation. They also brought me a couple of samples for the hardware so that we had a perfect match. Pricing was very reasonable and they were in and out very quickly I highly recommend this business. read more

Not reliable. Missed appointments. These guys are hit-or-miss. They did good work for me one year ago, but since then I tried twice to get them to replace another window without success. Little order gone bad. I ordered 4 glass shelves for the shower. It started out nice, with professional advise to get tempered glazing recommendation. Price offered was very reasonable. When 4 glass shelves were ready for pick up it appeared that the glazing was not tempered as promised it said "annnealed" on the sticker. I was told that annealed is the same as tempered. What is incorrect. Then it appeared that one shelf was not matching template size. I paid, but i told them that i have to check if the not matching shelf size. Unfortunately i could not fit it and came back to shop. From there everything went wrong. 2.5 months later with many visits to the glazing company A1 bay area glass, Miguel finally confessed that he has not re-ordered the 1 glass and is not willing to do so. What was unbelievable that communication / responses was horrible. Miguell had wasted my time to come by and then tell me he did not have it or was not home, ... and i could continue with many details. End of story was that i gave up on them and said just give me back my template and the money. The fact was that 2 shelves could have been done tempered. Never an apology was given, and the overall customer service due to my many visits without a product to be picked up. I did read the bad reviews before, and thought, well only persons that have had a bad experience write this, and maybe most customers have a good experience. Well, sorry, with all my patience and calmness for 3 months, ... I have to say : My experience was BAD, and I can not recommend this shop. They installed windows and a patio slider for me. Property now under re-construction and I'm informed that I need to replace the patio door as it was broken and damaged when it was installed. Called Miguel and he said he would look at it. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but he is ghosting me on any type of good business response from the company. Well why should he, I already payed. Miguel installed the frameless shower at my place via a contractor, Edgar. Firstly, he got the measurements wrong. Nevertheless, he came back and installed it. Few issues: 1. Given the tiled walls are not perfectly straight, he did not accomodate for it in the measurements of the glass panels. Instead, he used clear silicone to fill the gaps. Not too bad considering it was towards the bottom of the glass panels 2. The plastic piping on the door to prevent water from seeping out was not done well. He left a quarter of an inch gap towards the end. This caused some water to drip out if you take a decent shower. Again, clumsy job. 3. The biggest issue was he missed out on applying clear silicone on the inside of 2 hinges - this caused water to come out after every shower. I managed to seal this off with a quick trip to home depot. Overall, he is not very attentive to detail and always seemed to be in a rush. And he never asked us if we were happy with the job! read more

Had my restaurant broken into and needed the glass door replaced ASAP. I called A-1 and they arrived when they said they would and they replaced the window (that is the full length of my door) quickly and without disturbing my customers. They even cleaned the extra glass shards for me which was very nice. Easy communication and great price! Highly recommended!! read more

Miguel was very responsive and came and fixed the shower glass in a timely way. Good quality custom glass at a competitive price compared to other placed we shopped. We had a small water leak near the caulking and he came and he fixed it in a prompt manner once we called him. read more

As with MANY yelpers, I wish I could give a zero or a "negative" star review. I had an appointment with "miguel" for 9/23/2020 at my house. I waited over a 1/2 hr. No show, no phone call. No nothing. He insisted that we meet after 1, so the appointment was set for 1:30 - again, not even a courtesy call. This "miguel" is not reliable and don't know if he is the owner, but I would NOT recommend this co. Seems so shady. There are MANY other window repair companies, and I now have a firm that is SOLID - timely showed up this AM - we are at my house - and they are very professional. This review is long overdue. They did all 3 of my glass showers and because they did such a good job, I had them do my glass railings too. Believe me, I've shopped at more than 5 different glass companies, and no one could beat their price. The work was completed in 2016, and I have (knock-on wood) had no issues with any of their glass. VERY disappointed with A1 Bay Area Glass. They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and don't do what they say they are going to do. I should have learned from my mistake on 11-29-12, when A1 promised to call one of my tenants to set up an appointment, while at the same time, telling me that they would have the repair done by a certain day. The tenant informed me that they never even got a call! After I found this out, I used another Glass Company that could come out and repair the following day. I never even got a call back from A1 Bay Area about the situation! On another rental property I manage, I was previously working with A1 back on 9-17-12 to get glass ordered for a window that was cracked. Unfortunately, due to the tenants schedule--numerous overseas visits--we had to postpone the replacement. I of course let A1 Bay Area Glass know about this and reitterated that I would definately be calling them back for installation, and was told not to worry. When I called today, 1-16-13, I was told that they threw away the glass and would have to re-order it and that I would have to pay for it up-front. I later got a rude e-mail stating that I wasted their time. Turns out I wasted my time too--Don't waste yours trying to deal with A1 Bay Area Glass. Two thumbs DOWN. read more

I called 8 different glass/mirror companies in the Mountain View area, and A1 Bay Area Glass was the least expensive (by $200-$300). Miguel was very professional and thorough when I spoke to him on the phone to get an estimate to remove and install a 96"x42" mirror. Two hours after I called, he came to measure the mirror and gave me a written estimate (he was in the area at another job). The next day he and his son came at noon (on time), and removed the old mirror and installed the new one. They were both very efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend them!! read more

Initial service was great but slow to respond to followup repair. Miguel came out the day I called to provide an estimate (replace window balances for 10 windows); parts where ordered and the windows repaired within a week. After a couple of weeks one of the window balances had broken; I called Miguel with the expectation that he'd be out immediately. He said he wouldn't be working in my area until Saturday (5 days later) which was the day my tenants were moving in. Miguel came out as scheduled to look at the window and determined he was going to have to order parts which would arrive within 4 days. After 6 days I emailed to followup (no reply); on day 7 I called him to followup. He then said the manufacturer did not have the part so it would be another 5 days before he could repair the window. The repair was scheduled however Miguel arrived 3 hours late for the appointment and had forgotten to bring the correct part. It's been nearly 3 weeks and the window still hasn't been repaired. read more

I had bought a console table from Z-gallerie and wanted a piece of glass for it. I called around and found them to be the most reasonably priced. They also were able to get the glass ready the quickest. When the glass was ready, i called the number and spoke to a guy and he said meet me there in 20 minutes. I showed up and he was already there and loaded the glass in my car and I was on my way. I will definitely refer more people to this place. I've paid twice for things in the past. Terrible. Glass improperly made, and we've had 5 commitments to resolve, but each was a "no call no show". Do not waste your time here.

We had a serious problem with our office door where it would jam partially open. We made an appointment for which they were 2 hours late. They quoted us a price and performed a repair; after which, they informed us that they did not have the proper parts to complete the repair. They basically just screwed the lower door pivot to the base plate so that they door would open and close without catching. For this repair work, Miguel gave us a 6 months warranty. Unfortunately, 4 days later, the original problem reoccurred. We called Miguel on a Friday and he promised to be there on Monday to fix the problem. However, he never showed up. We finally gave up on A1 Bay Area Glass and contacted another door company to perform the repair. This new company, A1 Glass (not to be confused with A1 Bay Area Glass), quoted us and then successfully performed the repair with the proper parts. In conclusion, A1 Bay Area Glass does not honor its warranty, is not reliable, and does not do quality work. I am very disappointed with their utter lack of professionalism. read more

My wife and I were away in the UK on business last week when I received an email from my landscaper that the glass to one of my back doors was shattered. I was lucky that no one broke into my home, and it is still a mystery how the glass was broken. I thought being 6,000 miles away from home would be a challenge, however I found A1 Bay Area Glass by reviewing Yelp and I called them. They were at my house within an hour to board up the door and clean up the glass. I was fortunate enough to have a neighbor meet them and everything went off without a hitch. They ordered the glass and said they would call me once it came in to be installed. They just left after replacing the glass and it looks great. Both Pablo and Miguel were excellent throughout the process, excellent communication and outstanding workmanship. If there is a zero star, I will choose it. I got the mirror installed about 2.5 months ago, the quality is so poor. The dots started to appeared from the back side of mirror. It's not only the quality is poor, the service is horrible. I called Miguel last week, he told me to call this Tuesday to set up an appointment for that Thursday or Friday. I called, Miguel told me to wait for him Friday form 8-noon. I called again Friday 8:30AM to ask him when he planned to come over, he told me 1-3PM. I called again 12:50PM, he said he will be from 1-3PM but don't know when yet. Now it's 4:40PM, no show up nor phone call. I called 6 times to his phone, he never picked up and I reached VM everytime. Poor quality, bad service, not responsible business owner. DEFINITELY DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Miguel does not even planned to come that's why does not want to set up an appointment with me. Very dishonest and very irresponsible and disrespectful business conduct. This has to the worst service possible.... I had this company come out nearly a month ago to rescreen all of my external screens and replace one screen and replace one window that the neighbor kids had decided that the football was going to try to go through. The owner said it would take about two weeks since he had to order the glass special as it was a dual-pane with a cross bar in between the panes. After 3 weeks without a call I called to see what was the status on getting my screens back and replacing my window and he had said oh he will get right out there the end of the week lie number one. When he didn't show I called again oh they will get out there in a couple days lie number two finally after 3 calls they finally got out on a Saturday with kids that didn't know a clue about putting screens back in one of the screens had a bend in it when I sent it it was still in it when I came back they didn't have the sense to straighten it out before they brought it back and put the screen in. However the screen that they had to make it from New still was not here and to date it is still not here and I've had two other promises since then that would be lie three and four for them to deliver it and install the last screen I could not recommend anyone ever to use this company they just do not know how to be honest about anything. read more

If I could give negative stars I would! This is the WORST service I have ever received. So I call and make an appointment on 12/2 for 10:30AM on 12/7. I call Friday afternoon to confirm my appointment....confirmed. I get an email Friday night that they have an emergency and have to cancel my appointment. Ok...emergencies are understandable. So I call and rebook for the following sat at10:30AM. I call on Wed to confirm my appointment...confirmed! Sat comes along 10:40 - nobody shows! I call them and Miguel answers and says he will call Pablo who is supposed to come install my doors. No call back..so I call again and he gives me Pablo's number. I call PAblo at 11AM and he tells me he is in SF on another job. He said he was aware of my appointment but this job was taking longer than expected....he tells me to call his uncle at anthony's glass to see if he can do it. NOPE...too busy! So I call A1 again and tell him that they cancelled once and didn't show for their second appt! He said he will call me back. Never did call! This is the worst business ever! I had shopped around for my office mini-remodel and A1 Bay Area Glass was very responsive and the lowest price. They worked with me on the price and I had my 45 glass shelves done in 3 days and they were exactly what we wanted. While they were delivering the shelves I decided to ask them about installing some mirrors in the back part of my unit and they quoted a pretty good price and said they could do it the next day. Today, they got here promptly at the time they said and they did everything in 1 hour. My office looks great! read more
