My fiancé got his car broken into and we went to this place to get the back window replaced. They were pretty quick at fixing it, but when they finished they put painters tape on the back of his car and it peeled the paint off. They refused to fix it. We checked the window that they replaced and realized that it was also defective and that the glass itself was warped. They also refused to fix this unless we paid for another window and labor costs. The lady working also tried to gaslight us and tell us that it was all our fault that the paint peeled off. I would not recommend this business. read more

Had to have my cracked windshield replaced. The woman was very attentive in making sure I was okay while waiting (offered coffee, gave a space heater, etc). At the end, I had an issue with my trunk not locking closed (not their fault) and she made sure to tie it securely before I left, to prevent the trunk from popping up while I drove directly to an auto shop to have it fixed. We had a window replaced over a year ago because a rock hit it and was not happy because they left white paint on our black convertible top. I thought I could wash it off but never could and didn't have time to make a complaint. I let it go because it was just cosmetics. But since then our convertible couldn't open all the way down. The latches wouldn't open, but I didn't make the connections until it got too hot and I had a mechanic check it out and they said the latches were damaged. Almost certainly one of the best prices in town and if they have your windshield in stock, the job won't take too long (i.e. while you wait). The location and facilities are a bit ghetto, and assuming they still allow you to watch the work being done, you may think the quality isn't quite top notch. But after seeing how windshield replacement is done at other facilities (BMW and Lexus), the process is basically the same, fairly simple, and I've had the benefit of seeing their work hold up just fine year after year. I'm an only child caring for my 90 year old dad and am a cancer patient who lost my eye recently and underwent treatment. I don't even want to put a Star. First, I called and got a lady that said she would send someone to look at my window today, this was Friday last week around 1045am. I waited all day and called back around 4:30, didn't get done saying my name and the same lady responds, 'I already told you! We are too busy. All my techs are in the field. Since it was a weekend, there were very limited options to go and get my passenger window replaced that didn't cost a fortune. A Yelp search later, I found Lotus Glass. I called to see if they had some availability and 10 minutes later I was sitting in their lobby waiting for my car. The owner was very helpful, especially since I was so crabby about the car situation. The window was fixed in about 30 minutes, car vacuumed and all. The only down side is that we had to come in the next day to get the final screws in because the repair guy who was working on my car had left without telling the owner where he left them. Not a huge thing because the window still worked but still a little inconvenient because we had to come back. Overall, I would recommend them for the speediness and affordable cost. A couple of weeks ago, my Volvo was broken into. Some teenage kids broke through my rear window and snagged my school bag with some school papers inside them, nothing more. Probably worth around $40 total. Yes, I was pissed. I felt violated. But that's not what really pissed me off. And for the fact that about $40 worth of stuff was stolen. So I have been searching for a place to repair my window and I happen to stumble on Lotus Glass. They are a Korean owned company based in San Jose, off of 10th St., near the 880 entrance. So I called them and asked for a quote. The quoted me $140! I had to ask them again to make sure we didn't get mixed up on communication. Compared to the other companies that quoted me (they did offer mobile service with the quote and Lotus is not mobile), Lotus was the best price, period. Lotus estimated the time for repair was around 45min to 1 hour. Not bad... took it during lunch, so no worries. The lady that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable. She asked me to bring it in when I am ready. Upon arriving, the shop looked a little run down, almost creepy and I felt a little unsure about the quality of service they will perform on my Volvo, but I went with it anyway (couldn't resist the price). So they took my Volvo in and got it replaced in about an hour. Paid my $140 in full and went back to work. I left feeling good that I just saved around $100-$150.
