Received a fair quote, and 2 guys came to do the work. They showed up with an attitude (1 guy in particular) and then spoke in Spanish to each other while snickering. Then told me the work is difficult and they will need to call their boss. After the call, they said he will need to charge over 3 times what I was quoted. I said no thanks, I'll find someone else. Then he lowered his extreme quote by $100 (which is still 3 times what I was quoted). I found someone else to do the job at a fair price. They finished it in under an hour, and said it was easy so I tipped them generously. Maybe the boss will read this and realize the workers under him and doing him dirty. Our windows are triple pane aluminum high quality European style turn and tilt windows. The guy who ended up installing them (different company) said it was super easy to work with, and had a very friendly positive attitude. Either way, they ordered and installed a custom very large frameless gym mirror for us in our home. They were very responsive, professional, and everything was very well done. Zero stars!! Damage and sloppy work. Joe came out to replace a window in our new kitchen. He didn't protect the area and broke glass in our backyard without putting anything down or even bringing a vacuum. In the process of installing the glass he and and his helper damaged our new kitchen by denting the frame and metal trim from our backslash. We put towels on our new Cesarstone countertops or I positive he would have damaged those. He also parked his dirty truck in our driveway leaving oil behind. When my husband asked him to take better care he lied and said he wasn't in our house even though my husband was watching them. I guess we got over zealous and my boy threw a Kaepernick rocket of a pass that hit the crystal bottom ball of the entryway chandelier which in turn flew across the living room and landed on the glass coffee table top. "PIAAAAAAAT !!!!!", but the glass top shattered into 5 large sections along with a handful of tiny glass slithers. The crystal ball escaped unscathed. The next day, I began calling around for estimates to replace the broken table top. All the bigger places acted like they were too good to quote, with either no return calls after I'd left messages or the guy who can quote will call-back, but never did or outwardly saying "WE DON'T CUT GLASS TO 1/16th INCH", click. When I called, Joe himself answered the phone and promptly gave me an estimate to my specified dimensions (no problem cutting to 1/16th of an inch). When I enquired if I should go with un-tempered or tempered glass, Joe was very honest with his reply. Although tempered glass costs more, both will break, except tempered glass will shatter into many tiny fragments. Joe sounded honest and up front which I appreciated. He estimated the replacement will be ready in 2-3 days, but called right back the next day to inform me its ready. I was truly impressed. Joe's Glass appears to be a one-man operation. Joe actually does all the work himself, running the office, giving estimates and cutting. He does commercial, domestic and even auto windshields. Joe is a knowledgeable and experienced contractor who I would highly recommend for window repair. He replaced a cracked pane in an old victorian window quickly and affordably, when other contractors turned down the job saying the risk of damaging the old window was too great and that the whole window frame needed to be replaced. When I sent a photo of the window, Joe was the only contractor who immediately identified how the window was constructed and what method was needed to remove the damaged pane. Scheduling was a little tricky, but he showed up on time and did the job perfectly and efficiently in under an hour, with no damage to the window frame or other panes! I've known Joe for years. Every time a kid throws a ball through a window, or in my case, today, swats a fly and smashing a window, Joe comes right out to fix it. He usually schedules out about 24 hours, he is always prompt and his prices are fair. He's an older guy and he's got a thick European accent, but I think his work is terrific. My daughter accidentally broke one of the panes of glass on our old (needs to be replaced) front door. Called Joe up the next day and ended up leaving a message. Joe soon called back, said he was on a job, and asked if ok to call me back when he was done and back at his shop after 5PM. I said sure, figuring if he called and setup the appointment, that was good. He called me around 5:30PM and I scheduled for him to swing by, on Saturday, after 2PM, at my house, to replace the glass, since he had some other jobs earlier. After 2PM Saturday was perfect for me. When I described the problem he estimated around $80 to $90 for the replacement. Joe calls me around 1:30PM and says he is on the way; he arrives at my place around 2:20PM, fine with me. He estimates $85 for the replacement, which includes everything, including full cleanup. I told him to go for it. Joe takes about 45 minutes to get the job done and when he is done everything looked great. Granted, where the glass was replaced on the door I had to repaint, but I expected that. I gave Joe $100 and told him to keep the change. No idea if I paid way to much but I told my wife to expect the replacement and all work to be around $80 to $100, and I was within that range, and Joe did a good job. After a little research on Yelp I found Joe's Glass. We were looking to get two pieces of glass cut to protect new furniture recently purchased. Joe answered the first call, said no problem. I gave him the dimensions and we picked up the glass in a week. Unfortunately, I gave him the wrong dimensions on one cut so we had a piece of glass an inch too long.
