Where do I begin? This company was called out to our house by a home insurance company because our refrigerator was not cooling in September 2022. Repair person wrote down model number and ordered parts. Repair person came back in late October or early November 2022 to fix the broken part. A few weeks later before Thanksgiving I noticed the refrigerator and freezer were not as cold as they should have been. Insurance company sent out a different company and the guy said the first company should have did a dye test to see if there was a leak, because more than likely that was the issue. The first company came back in late November to access the problem. Said they needed to order more parts to fix the issue. Six weeks later WE have to call the repair company and said waiting for insurance company to order another part. A week or two later no response so we call insurance company and they said it shows parts were ordered WEEKS ago and they were delivered to repair company. Repair company claims they never received parts. After continuous calls to the insurance company complaining about NOT HAVING A REFRIGERATOR for TWO MONTHS and having our food go back twice. Insurance company finally deems our refrigerator non-repairable. We also have a 2 year old. How the funk are you supposed to function for 3 out of 4 months without a refrigerator?!?!? Coincidentally after our demands with the insurance company, the repair company starts calling leaving voicemails saying they received the part and want to set an appointment. We don't answer their calls since they never called us back like they promised they would. Then we get a text from them confirming our appointment for the following day. They never showed up for the "appointment" that "we scheduled" with them. They then show up unannounced the following day stating that they received the part and can make the repair. My wife politely said no thanks, it's already been handled by the insurance company. The guy kept asking if we got the refrigerator repaired and then takes a picture of our house before he leaves with his tail between his legs. DO NOT use this horrible company. The reviews on here are evident that they do not know how to run a company. They need to get a clue on how to communicate with their customers. read more

They charged $100 for a consultation - they came out and told me my stove was broken - yep, that's why I called - and said they'd give me a call the next day to see if they could find some part. No call, even when I followed up three times via phone and email. Worse, when I called to request a follow up (I should not even have to do this), the receptionist acted like I was bothering them by simply asking about something I paid for. This company was hired by my home warranty to install a new stove cooktop. Upon arrival I showed him the new unit and he quickly remarked that he wasn't aware this was an install job. Then he tries to convince me the unit is too small and my counter will have over an inch gap without even lifting the existing unit to confirm. No reason for me to argue. The fact that he came unprepared and insulted my intelligence is enough to show him the door. Hired my own contractor two days later and installation was done with no issues. I have a home warranty through Old Republic Home Protection. My dishwasher wasn't draining so my home warranty sent this company. The service was SO BAD! it took a week to get an appointment, once the repair man showed up he spent 2 minutes to tell me that there wasn't a problem. After he left the dishwasher wouldn't even turn on. When I called them to come back they wouldn't give me an appointment till a week later.... 2 weeks to have a dishwasher repaired!!!?? We were having a problem with our refrigerator that was still under warranty. We called the number on our receipt and were set up with Appliance Repair Team. About a week later a technician showed up. He stood in front of the appliance and poked and prodded until finally, I had to ask if he was familiar with our model. Finally, he determined he needed to order parts and left us a receipt. The receipt did not indicate the type of repair or the parts ordered. About 2 weeks later I called to find out what was going on and could not reach them. I called my store back. They told me they would send something to their claims department, but I told them to start a new repair order. They said they couldn't do that. Another week went by, and I finally reached Appliance Repair. They told me my service and parts had been canceled because they were out of warranty. I called the store back, and this time they started a new repair order with a different repair service. The new repair people diagnosed AND fixed the problem within 15 minutes, and my warranty covered it. read more

DO NOT CALL - Terrible company. Yelp forces you to give a rating with stars and there is no option to give NONE!! When called they give one quote on the phone, then Taj, the repair person shows up late to the appointment and demands a higher service call fee. First glance he says he can clean the washing machine and it should be ok without needing new parts - great. 40 minutes later he says, yes it needs a new part but he has it in his truck. Part is $225 alone. 2 hours later he is still at it and has 'discovered' it also needs another part that has to be ordered. 1 week later and he returns, late again, to install the part. Machine runs, but sounds terrible. He hasn't leveled the machine properly (front loader) and it is banging and moving across the floor. We stop using the machine and call him back to level it. 3 days later he arrives (late) and supposedly levels it. We use the machine, still banging away, not leveled, and it breaks. The repair person is either completely incompetent or is intentionally damaging the appliance to get more parts. Added all up with parts and service and tax I have now paid over $700. Marcella the customer service manager says she has submitted a refund request on my behalf, but now doesn't return phone calls. I am also posting this review in Homestars and with the Better Business Bureau and anywhere else I can think of. If there are enough people that have lost money with these crooks, we should get together and start a class-action suit. Love to hear from you, if so. read more

The worst customer service ever. I was referred to them by AHS home warranty. This company simply do not care. I was given an appointment 9 days later. The technician showed up and told me that was not cleaning my refrigerator from the back part. took my money and told me that it will take 24 hours to cool. The refrigerator was the same as before not cooling. After calling them at least 20 times, they kept telling me to wait for another day for the work order to be submitted. After another week of waiting they informed me that they did repair the refrigerator and I should make an new claim with my home insurance. Every time, I call them, I get a person who do not speak good English and they never cared to help. If I could give no stars to this company, that is what I would have done. This supposed to be to technician, came to fix my bertazzoni oven, was here for a couple of hours, and supposedly fixed it. I called him a few days later and he came back and charge an extra hundred dollars. All in all I paid $400 and the oven is not fixed. The oven is less than 4 years old, and I never got a response, when I called and texted him to come back and fix what he was supposed to do in the first place. if you use this company first make sure to ask how much they are going to charge, and then make sure to have a receipt although it doesn't help. read more

Whirlpool upright clothes washer with an F1E02 error code. I was told the service call was $80.00, payable whether or not the washer could be fixed. That was fine. When the tech checked the "error code", he said it would be $320.00 to full check all 3 functions, but the $80.00 service call fee would be waived. I agreed. It needed a new board. $460.00. Fine. He came back within a few days and installed the board. Now it needed another board. $430.00. Fine - paid 50% deposit on the part. I waited and finally called after a week. They got back to me the next day and said the part had been discontinued. They sent me a $420.00 refund. So it cost me about $900.00 to throw the washer in the garbage. read more

Now they want an additional $320 to install a new drain pump. Customer service didn't call me back though they said they would. They don't care about a bad review and refuse to reimburse any money. Let me start by saying we are a family of 4... two adults and two children. Lots and lots of laundry. I've been using this company for about 5 years now with no issues. So when my electrolux washing machine stopped working about six weeks ago, I of course called them again thinking it will be handled. They sent a tech to inspect the machine and I pre-paid for the full repair on the spot of over $300. After the tech came to inspect the machine, I was told that the company would be calling me back in 2 days to schedule an appointment to replace the broken control board. 2 days came and went with no call. On the 3rd day I reached out and spoke to Omar who promised me a call in 20 minutes after he looked into the issue. No call back. Next day, I called again. A woman answered and once again promised a call back in 20 minutes. No return call. The next day I called and got the same run around. This went on for 4 more weeks!!! FINALLY my wife called and refused to "get a call back in 20 minutes". Turns out the part we needed was on back order and was promised to be to us by the end of the week. We scheduled our appointment date for Monday. My wife took off work to make sure she was at the house when they arrived. In the meantime, we have had to take our entire family's dirty laundry to the local laundromat every week for four weeks while this mess was going on, taking time out of our lives. Keep in mind, this company has ALREADY been to my house to inspect the unit PLUS I've already told twice by phone that it's a stackable unit and to please send 2 techs when they come to do the repair (you can probably guess where this is going). On our appointment date, a new tech comes and sees the unit is a stackable in the closet. Tells my wife that it's a 2 man job and he'll have to come back later in the week. Are you kidding me? After her begging and pleading with them, two techs arrive over the weekend. Six weeks ago, when the washing machine stopped working, it apparently had a tank full of water. That water had been sitting inside the machine for over a month, festering. When the techs moved the machine and tried to reset it to force it to go into a drain cycle, SOMEHOW they managed to OPEN the front door, causing all the stank water (likely 10 to 20 gallons or so) to spill onto my hardwood floors, into the closet, through the walls and into the adjoining room... RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES. The wood floors have now buckled, the dry wall will likely need to be removed and I will once again not have access to my machine for many weeks until the repairs are made. Then there was the smell... When I called to file a claim with their insurance carrier, I got the run around. I was told by Omar that the "manager" would be calling me to discuss. Instead of the mysterious "manager" I got a call from the actual tech who caused the damage. He cried poverty, saying that his company was going to make him pay for the damage out of his own pocket (which likely means this company does not have any insurance). It's now off to my lawyers and my homeowners policy to fix this mess. Please, do yourself a favor...NEVER hire this company to do appliance repairs to your home. It took four days of cancelled visits and when they came the charge was $361 for a no fix. The technician left giving my wife the impression that the dishwasher may still need a part that was worth more than the machine's worth. He also gave the impression the machine will work for a while after he "recalibrated" it. He did wave the minimum $80 service fee. The older basement fridge was leaking and the repair man said he could see the problem and fix it for $310.00. I signed the agreement and after 20 minutes he calls me downstairs to tell me that it isn't what he thinks - it was the door which needs replacing for an additional $500.00. Jan 2020 - Wish I had done more research on these scam artists. Our dryer was making scratching noise just when starting up. Jaimeen the technician said for $280 he would give it a tune up. After only 15-minutes the 'tune-up' was done and he would take only cash or debit card as payment. The machine made more noise and vibration than before his tune-up and the part he said it needed would be sourced by their parts department and they would call us back. After 3-weeks no call back. He had to return because the issue was continuing. He ordered a part that took 2 months. He replaced the part but when he returned the warranty time had expired. It's all a scam to get the service call fee! I used their service once prior back in 2015 and received amazing service on my washer machine. Since then, they apparently sold the company, and the current owners are HORRIBLE! I called them out to service my dryer. The tech spent less than 10 minutes and said the main electronic board (Part# EBR62707648) needed to be replaced (even though the machine cuts on and operates just wasn't getting heat to dry the clothes... but okay). This was on a Thursday. The tech said he would find out the price of the part and someone would call me later Thursday or possibly early Friday to ensure I wanted to proceed with the work. No call Thursday or Friday morning, so I called the manufacture myself to inquire about the parts cost and delivery time. I was quoted $119 for the part, 2 business days for shipping. So Monday rolls around... Still no call. I called their 800# and got the rudest person ever, who didn't have any information but promised a call back within 2 hours to get me the information... you guessed it, no call back again!!! So I called Tuesday to demand either the service or my $60 back, which they of course refused. So I'm having to pay another vendor, one who is reputable... to come do the analysis (because they don't accept others...) AND still have to pay for the correction. Save yourself step 1 and do not use these guys and just get someone more reputable. read more

Tech came out 1 minute before the end of the 4 hour window time for repair. He said I needed an air cap and that was what was causing the problem. I did not understand why I had this dishwasher for several years and got along fine without an air cap. He then became angry and proceeded to draw me a picture of how the plumbing worked and told me he needed to call tech support and then he would get back to me on Monday. Told me to sign his paperwork that repair was performed to my satisfaction. He left without my signature, of course. Well, end of day on Monday, no call so I called them and the person on the phone said she didn't know why he didn't call back. I had these people come into our home sent by American Homeshield. Long story short what everyone is saying here, complete scam artists. Came to fix the dishwasher, and they did not. However they collected their money and when I called back and spoke to supervisor they said they completed the job and we'd need to file another claim but they never fixed the original problem in the first place!!! The Appliance Repair Team in Toronto has the dubious distinction of being the first company that I have ever been motivated to write a negative review concerning the quality of their service. Initially I had an improperly draining washer. Their technician came and supposedly repaired the job. Three weeks later, the same problem occurred resulting in water spilling out all over my laundry room floor. I called Appliance Repair Team customer service and they assured me that the repair is still under warranty (less than 30 days) and I would be contacted within 24 hours to book an appointment. After not hearing from them after 24 hours, I called them once again, at which point I was told that for some unknown reason, my file wasn't sent to warranty, but rest assured it would be. After again not hearing from them, I called back and was told yet again that for some unknown reason my request wasn't sent to their warranty department, which they would do and have them expedite their response. I subsequently called three times in the next three days after hearing no response. I was finally told by someone on the phone, who can't tell the difference between an inlet valve assembly and draining system, that I would need additional parts. After waiting on hold for about 30 minutes for them to apparently reach a "senior technician" to talk with me, the call went dead. Basically, through complete ineptitude and a lack of response and making the warranty claim ordeal as frustrating as possible, they hope that you will give up and go elsewhere. This is reinforced by the fact that they don't answer their phones by identifying the company name...absolutely unscrupulous company. Do yourself a favour and absolutely avoid this fraud of a company - use someone independent and local with a proven track record. read more

Do not use this company!!! Very poor work, crap replacement products and NO customer service. They don't stand behind their work. Our dryer pully needed to be replaced. They ordered and installed the replacement. The same day, the dryer grinded, squealed and screamed. I called to report the problem, left voice mails, but did not receive any return call. I finally reached the office, they called the repair man, and I was told it would improve in time and to just wait. It did improve after a few days, but then five months later, the horrible noises were back. I called and the company will not come out to inspect and fix the original problem. They require we pay a service fee. The dryer was never fixed properly, despite the hundreds of dollars we paid for the original service, replacement part and installation. Didn't even warrant 1 star! Didn't follow instructions on how to reach me. Had to call them. Took 2 days to show up and was 3 hours late. Technician went on vacation for a couple days without submitting report, or ordering parts. After Tech gets back took a couple days to get parts, but 5 days for next available service date. WOW. What a POS business. I called them because the Freezer door was broken. They gave me a 8-12 appointment the tech showed up at 4pm, no call I'll be late, nothing. The tech messed around with the freezer door and after doing the same thing 10 times with the same result said he had to have the part ordered. After not hearing from anyone for a week I called and was told that a part needed to be ordered. 3 weeks later after not hearing ANYTHING from this business, I called again. The had ordered the wrong part and had to reorder it. Again NO CALL informing me that this needed to be done. Finally they came out and 10 minutes before the 4 hour window the tech finally showed up. Fixed the door. This business SUCKS and I will never ever use them again. They should be out of business, and why they aren't is a mystery to me. read more

A tech came to fix the oven and the washer. He did a pretty good job plus with good attitude I didn't get a bad experience with them or my friend that referred me to them. On top of that some of this comment's are over exaggerated. It's not always gona be free the way you want it if the main company that insurance you wants it to be fixed in a curtain way it will be like that and make the contractor look bad decision is made by warrantee not by the contractor. If warrantee does not pay what you want to the contracter they won't do what you were waiting for.I read more

I too wish I looked here before allowing 1st American Home Warranty to send them out. First off they were supposed to be at my house between 10am and 1pm. They called at 7:30 and said they could be at my house in 20 minutes. I was 45 minutes away from home walking my dog. So they said they'd stick to the original plan. At 9:30 the guy shows up at my door having forced open my electric gate to gain entry to my door. He then looks at my microwave, takes down some info and my payment. He then tells the insurance company that I broke the microwave and it was not normal wear and tear. Totally false as the issue happened a couple years ago due to poorly designed plastic buttons. So no amount of logic would persuade the insurance to honor my claim. I cancelled my policy and stopped payment on the check. read more

Got these guys through Sears Home Warrantee Service... Worst service ever. Twice now I have scheduled appointments and been given time between 11am-4pm on a specific day. I called them at 10:30 am to confirm appointment and narrow down the eta. Today they confirmed they would be here but gave the same hours, 11-4. I called them at 2pm to check on eta and was told they could be here on WEDNESDAY! This is the second service I have requested and had them cancel late in the day. read more

They had very strict and professional technicians. When i called they were very understanding of my difficulties and tried they're best to help me with my problems. Dishonest Thieves - never do business with this business that was referred by Samsung Customer Service - supposedly "Samsung-certified". My front-loader washer purchased at Pacific Sales inside of Best Buy in 2013 was leaking. The two-year warranty had already lapsed. The repair guy said it was the outer drum. He claimed that he contacted Samsung and they told him the part was no longer made. He offered to repair the drum that was going to cost an estimated $500.00. Samsung stated that it was not true that the part needed was not discontinued - they also indicated that they have no record that AARAPP requested this part. I had another repair service come out today and said it was a broken hose. It's infuriating to me that there are so many businesses that have absolutely no integrity whatsover. read more
