Tried Appliance Tech 4 U through two technicians (one who did the bare minimum to look at our machine and got the diagnosis wrong twice... to the company's credit, they didn't charge me. The other one didn't even show up twice in a row and kept us waiting, I decided not to try a third time). Making an appointment was easy and they were able to come out pretty fast. Russ our technician was very thorough, he dismantled our machine quickly when he couldn't tell what was wrong to check every part (and immediately dismissed the first technician's first two diagnosis). I called the company and Russ responded. He explained what was wrong with our 15 year old Bosch washer and returned 2 days later with an assistant and a new motor. They removed the the washer and dryer from a narrow space. Repaired the washer and after cleaning up replaced everything. Everything runs great. He also gave us a 90 warrantee on the repair. My high-tech Samsung fridge started beeping one morning, the lights on the inside of the fridge were flashing on/off and you could feel the temp start to rise. Me being someone who likes to support small businesses, check Yelp that AM and found Appliance Tech 4 You in our neighborhood. Asked for a quote and they responded within 15 minutes saying they could have a tech over to my house that same day. Tim, the technician came over, was professional, polite and courteous. He spent a couple of hours trying to diagnose the problem. He determined he needed to order a new control board. It was a Thursday afternoon, said he would place the order before EOD, and would likely be delivered on Sun/Mon and he could come and install the day after they received the new part. Provided a good estimate also. He texted me to let me know the part had been delivered, was very responsive and was flexible with me since I was out of town. Installed the part in about 30 minutes, the price was as he quoted and he left. All efficient and professional. Would definitely recommend and nice to know I didn't have to go to a Samsung specific appliance technician. read more

UPDATE: the owner did reach out on the same day and work with me about the issue. Even the issue has not be fixed, but his willingness to make things better is a definite plus. I will only review for my experience on fixing my fridge with them. They may be great in other appliances, but they did not perform with the technician that they sent to my place to fix the fridge. Communication, arrival on time. No problem. When the technician came, I told him about the problem. He does not seem to care/understand. Then he went on asking us for the user manual. I understand that there probably tons of models of fridge anyway, we searched around and find him the manual. He went on reading the manual, did a few phone search, pressing some button on the panel, work a bit on the front and back. And proclaim that my fridge has no problem at all. It is functioning normal. I told him that it will turn off itself every eight hours or so. He told me that it's NORMAL, and the fridge always cycle like this and I JUST NOT NOTICE IT USUALLY. I told him that it's turn OFF, no power. And it's NOT a cycle. Oh my, I had my fridge for like 8 years, and he wanted me to believe that I don't know the fridge shut down itself every 8 hours. He went on saying that once you open the door, it should restart. I insist that it's not this problem. Then he sound upset while putting the fridge together. Meanwhile, I need to point out. We tried to ask him question couple of times, he ignored us. So his final conclusion, your fridge is fine, it COULD BE the control board. Text him blah blah blah. At this point, we know that he does not know anything. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED at his service. He did not give out any great suggestion or did he communicate well with me. If you have a Samsung washer... I recommend going through Samsung. If it's a serious issue, there's a good chance these techs will not be able to fix it for less than the cost of a new Samsung washer, as was my situation with a quote of $730. I was told I'd need a motherboard replacement. These techs do not have the tools that Samsung provides their own certified techs to correctly diagnose issues. I went through Samsung and they sent a tech that could diagnose everything wrong with the machine. Only replacing the motherboard wouldn't have solved the problem. Samsung is currently rectifying the situation directly with me. Also take note that a good, brand-new Samsung washer is between $600-$800 unless you are going for super high-end. So in some cases, repairs can potentially cost more than simply replacing the appliance. UPDATE: The company did refund me their service request fee, so I'll give them a couple stars for that. read more

We had an issue with the timer on our dryer. We had someone fix it, but three months and $300+ later the problem came back. Tim was our technician and he was a total professional. He came by to look at the dryer, ordered the parts and came back two days later to fix the dryer. He did a great job on the repair. His communication was great. I never felt like I was trying to hunt him down for answers. He always called me back when he said he would. He got the parts needed earlier than expected and gave me a call to see if he could come by a day earlier to repair the dryer. I thought that was really cool of him, I really appreciated that. I had an excellent technician, Russ, service our 35 + year old Maytag washing machine. He evaluated the problem thoroughly (needed a couple motor springs and belt replacement). I appreciated he was very careful in moving the machine, and was mindful of the floor tiles and laundry room walls. I also appreciated that he didn't say we needed a new machine. The price to replace the springs and belts was reasonable, and he placed the order. He returned quickly to install them. The machine had a little hiccup afterwards--didn't spin smoothly. Super fast response. Same day service (and we really needed it). Our refrigerator stopped working. We pulled everything and put it in coolers and basically, with the high cost of food and everything else, needed our refrigerator fixed and really weren't trying to buy a new one. They sent over Ruslin... Ruslin is an "appliance whisperer" - yeah, kind of a unicorn. He quickly evaluated the situation, started dismantling a couple things, did a thing or two with this steaming device, took off another panel, did some more stuff, and got the fridge working like it was brand new. Then he showed me what was wrong (the magnetic seals on the doors were degraded), causing frost to build up in the freezer, gave me an estimate on replacement cost and labor and bing, bang, boom, a couple days later (today), the fridge is officially fixed. After his first visit everything was fine - which was a much needed bandaid. Today's visit was the long term fix (replaced the seals) - outpatient surgery - was done in 20 minutes. GREAT service. We got home from vacation and the refrigerator was buzzing loudly, it's less than 4 years old. Russ was dispatched to us within an hour and was so friendly and spent some time trying to figure out the problem. (of course the buzzing stopped when he got there) He made some adjustments and now it has been totally quiet. Prompt response after messaging them, technician came at the beginning of the time frame quoted 12pm-3pm. My refrigerator was icing up by the vents, technician spent the time to defrost the vents and found out the line in the back was all rusting so clogged the line so was not able to Drain. He spent about 2.5 hrs, he was very mindful of the space and cleaned as he repaired. He check my ice maker which has not worked for years, told me it was a common issue. Told me not to fix because manufacture has up the price for a part that should only be $20-$30, ice tray will save me the money. I love how honest this company is!! They charge $79 for initial consultation but that amount go towards the repair. The technician came back few days later to check if my refrigerator was working the way it suppose to be. Within an hour he had the refrigerator cooling and had explained to me what the problem was. Russ was very friendly and professional. My dryer was starting to not heat up consistently. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. Tim was able to diagnose the problem in about 10 minutes. He also found that someone left the dryer instructions INSIDE the area of the dryer that contains the igniter/flame. He potentially could have prevented a fire because parts of the instructions were singed. Anyway, a few days later, he came back with the parts and now it works as good as new. Alex came to my house twice concerning my washer problem. The first time he could not find any issue despite me telling him there was a huge leak. Fast forward a day later, it starts up again. He was able to come the next day again to check on it again. Unfortunately, he was not able to fix it. He quoted about $285 to fix so at the point I might as well buy a brand new washer. He was kind, but unfortunately it did not work out. At least I was able to use the Yelp coupon for $10 for $20 deal. So ultimately I paid $39 and another $10 for a coupon. read more

Our clothes dryer (about 10 years old) was making a grinding/scraping noise and I contacted AT4U for diagnosis. Communications (Via Yelp) with AT4U were prompt. Appointment was made immediately for same day tech visit. The tech, Ruslan, notified me when he was on his way. He arrived early within the appointment window provided. He was very polite and professional, and I was comfortable working with him. Ruslan diagnosed the problem in a couple of minutes and was able to give me a quote immediately. He said the problem was common, and he brought the necessary parts with him (I had provided the dryer's make, model#, and symptoms when making the appointment). I authorized the work and he was completed in less than half an hour. He also completed a routine cleaning of lint from the dryer exhaust hose. The dryer sounds good as new.
