Updating this review to be more honest. My movers were overall very good, but they pressured me to write a review before they left so they could send a photo of it to their boss. And they provided a photo for me to post, which wasn't actually a photo of my house. I took off a star because they took longer than I expected for my move. I told them we had to be done using the elevators by 3pm or else my HOA would fine me, so I asked if we could focus on elevators first and unpacking second. It felt like they came down to the wire to keep the 3pm deadline, and I wasn't expecting my 1 bedroom move to take 6 hours. They did their job well so I still recommend them as movers. Just be extra aware of the amount of time they take, and know that the other Yelp reviews may be written under pressure. read more

I have used these guys twice now -- The first time I moved within the same apartment complex and lost my 7' Christmas tree, carried in a 3-4' red tote bag. The movers did not show me an empty truck and I never recovered my $700, 7' Christmas tree after verifying with both my apartment property manager and the new tenant that my tree had not been left behind. The movers also refused to move my potted plants, creating a ton of work for me to go up and down stairs one pot at a time. My second time with them I used because of the price (forcing myself to believe they could not have lost my Christmas tree - but still pretty skeptical), I put a special request for them to carry my plants. This time I moved 2.5 hrs away and was quoted 3hrs, considering trucking factors. I was annoyed when the driver insisted it took them 3.5 hrs driving time as that was untrue, driving time is duplicated so I was forced to pay for a total of 1 extra hour because of this. I called the company during the trip and they ensured it was a 3 hour trip, so this seemed unfair to me. I also had specifically asked that the guy unloading boxes into my home to: A) put all boxes in one area, and B) face with number reference outward. He could not seem to follow the second request (number facing out) and when he was stacking the boxes, he continued to put smaller boxes on the bottom creating an instability, forcing me touch and reposition every single box. A few weeks later and I'm noticing a small dent/chipped wood in one of my prize pieces and that I never recovered my 2 personal moving blankets, meaning they took those with them. Also, the guy put my welcome mat in the doorway and then proceeded to run over it with the hand trick each time he went through the door. Just small unprofessional acts throughout my experiences. There was very little communication during the move, though, they continued to compare services to my first trip, I felt lied to about travel time (I made the same trip at the same time), and I've lost personal belongings on 2 of 2 moving trips with A to B Movers. read more

We walked into a 'hornets nest' of issues by hiring this company. No video walk-thru was done and no tour beforehand. Received a call a couple days before the move asking us if we wanted extra movers? Why would I need extra movers because I do not know, I am not a moving company? Our first day moving we pay well over one thousand bucks for three young men to move what they could over to the house. They drove from South SF and needed to use the restroom A LOT and one guy was talking to someone or listening to something the entire time with his headphones on. He kicked some boxes to 'get them out of the way' and I asked him not to do that. The entire time they spoke to each other in another language which is totally fine except because the move was not going well the perception was they were talking about us. I got a creepy feeling from them and they asked for tips. I discussed with the moving company several times during the first move day how frustrating it was that we felt like the team of guys were trying to sell us on getting more movers in and spending more money. Honestly, we felt like we were in a very uncomfortable situation. The guys were a circus but the moving company should have taken responsibility early on to tour our home or at least do a video tour to estimate accurately. We sent the first set of team members home after the first day. We didn't realize we really had a lot of stuff so Anna, a supervisor saved us and sent over another team of three guys the second day. These guys were much better at what they do and we appreciated their hard work. The entire experience should have been handled better by the main folks in the office ahead of time at the moving company! I did not tip the first team and felt guilty about it - so guilty. I took no joy in not being a better person. But I made up for it the next day and gave the second team a large tip and then paid them extra for the larger item move that they said they did not know about. I felt bad for the team of guys - they worked their butts off and worked late - and we also bought them a lot of pizza, soft drinks, and ice cream bars (which we forgot to give them). They were extremely nice and very careful with our stuff. WE spent THREE TIMES the amount of money than we budgeted. We are currently in our new home with no beds put together yet and boxes everywhere that are unlabeled and it's chaos. Next time we move our family of four plus dog and two cats we will be more careful to get the services we need ahead of time. Lesson well-learned. Update: I reported damage. There were big scratches left on a vintage dresser. I spoke with Ann about it and the company offered us $400. I declined the offer because they want me to sign an agreement I will not hold them responsible. I think the people are genuinely nice but for whatever reason did not perform well overall. TLDR; The work was fast, done right, and freed up more of my time to take care of my infant. In hindsight, I should have hired them sooner. I'd rented several pickup trucks, vans, box trucks, and a storage unit before reaching out. The move out was short notice, so my packing and storing suffered. But that didn't seem to bother these guys. They brought all the gear needed to safely and securely transport all of my 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom household things. I had them meet me at my storage unit. After giving them the code and unlocking the unit, they went to work. I was able to drive another box truck of items to the destination and get started. There's a certain peace of mind knowing that competent workers are handling the largest and most difficult of the work behind the scenes while you multitask elsewhere. When I first noticed the inside of their packed 26' truck, it was impressive. Everything was strapped down, shrink wrapped, padded, and partitioned. I glanced at my 10' truck pack job and it was slightly better than a molehill. That alone was already adding value for the price. I wanted to contribute, so I handled the small truck concurrently. They were strong, quick, and had clever tricks to managing awkward and heavy things that I hadn't considered (I'm looking at you, upside-down-table-trick...). My residence has many doors and long hallways, which added to the tediousness of the work, but Akti and Nuris chugged along unceasingly. They were careful to ask where each of the main furniture pieces needed to go. I also appreciated that they were able to make autonomous decisions with respect to the home layout. For example, they justified some of the boxes going to the outside deck due to the dirtiness/dustiness of the boxes and they questioned the placement of a mattress and box spring after noticing where the rug for the infant's crib was placed. These are things I wouldn't have considered and would have caused me more work in the short term. A decent review should have at least something to criticize constructively, so I'll keep it brief. I had returned from a trip to the smaller truck and noticed that one of the movers was in the bathroom. It's not that I minded this, just that there was no soap or towels in there, so he would have either not washed his hands or insufficiently washed them. Had he asked, I would have happily provided the supplies needed. A final criticism would be that the use of their wardrobe boxes is temporary unless you pay something like $25 per box (and they used 6 for the job). So we had to unload the 6 boxes and return the boxes, which added time and energy to the job. A heads-up that the box usage is temporary unless paid for would be preferred. Overall, Akti and Nuris were professional, quick, accurate, considerate, and saved me an entire summer of something they accomplished in 4 hours. I didn't have to miss my infant's first time crawling and laughing his way down the long corridors because the burden of time and effort was on their shoulders. Amazing how methodically they wrapped up the furniture and other items of value. They also had very fair pricing and no nickel and dime add ons! They did not rush yet they did not waste any time. It is about 8:00 pm on a Sunday and our movers Derrick, Abo, Yan and Aliko have spent all day with us since 9:30 am this morning helping us move our family size of five from our old home to our new home. They all have worked tremendously hard, up and down the stairs, squeezing through tight cookie corners and only had 5 to 10 minute breaks but they kept going and going and going. We highly recommend them as they are efficient and work together as a team. We found them on Yelp and are so happy with their service, guidance and they have done justice moving an 80 inch tv screen, to a massage bed to four bedrooms. There were so many things to move and I am so grateful we have found them and hope they will be your next movers too. I found them on Yelp because they have the best reviews and they lived up to their reviews! It was super easy to coordinate with them and get a hold of. They make sure you have everything before they come over. They offer free rental of wardrobe boxes. I recommend telling them how many wardrobe boxes you need. This saved me money because these boxes are expensive. For regular boxes, they don't provide and are available for purchase. Same thing with tapes and paper for fragile items. Our movers were so nice because they let us some of their tapes and paper for free. We hired 3 movers. The minimum I believe is 3hrs. I didnt think it was enough time but they moved fast! I had a lot of furnitures and some of my stuff were still unpacked. I live on the 3rd floor but we don't have an elevator. I was very impressed with the quality of their work and speed. It turned out to be a 5hr service from picking up stuff at my old apartment and dropping off and unpacking at my new place. They took a lunch break and didnt charge me for the hour. The price is great for the amount of service. None of my things are damaged and they took care of my stuff. I recommend Nick and his crew. Thank you! I can't recommend them enough. This move had issues, but I guess it could have been worse. (1) The movers installed the headboard of my bed on backwards and in a very poor manner, I think because the screws other side were stripped during disassembly, without asking permission or saying anything to me. It was at the end of the day, so I guess they thought I wouldn't notice before I payed their tip. (2) One of the items that was being moved was large and had locking wheels, one of which was in the locked position. At the beginning of the day I showed the movers how to lock and unlock the wheels, emphasizing that there wheel locks exist on the item. One of the movers ended up pushing the item with a locked wheel, forcing it despite the locked wheel, leaving a large black stripe on the driveway. Totally careless. (3) At one point there was a loud and lengthy verbal argument with another team member (in another language). We are not sure what the argument was about, but it certainly wasn't indicative of professional behavior. (4) One of the movers said that one of my items was supposed to be in the "last load." Since his English was poor, I didn't really understand what this meant, until I realized later that this meant they already knew everything wouldn't fit in the truck. 3 hours later I was informed that everything wouldn't fit into the truck and that this would incur extra charges due to driving time. (5) The foreman of the move said the tip was 20% at the beginning. No, the tip is earned, depending on how good of a job you do. They just wanted money, that's all. (6) They decided to take apart a lot of furniture that didn't needed to be taken apart, damaging some pieces in the process. Summary: I didn't feel like they were honestly communicating with me, and honesty is the most important thing. Plus I felt the whole time they were trying to milk every cent out of me. Examples: They took apart furniture that didn't need to be taken apart, sometimes damaging it in the process. It felt like they were deliberating slowing down things too much. They took shortcuts. Took 4 movers over 2x the estimate originally provided. Then charged $10 more by the hour than originally quoted and claimed it was cash vs card price (misleading at best, a lie at worst). Most movers were slow and often seen texting while on the clock. Took many breaks during the day, including to eat lunch we provided and only deducted 30 min from the move time. They literally shoved random things into boxes making unpacking a nightmare. Have found several broken items already.
