Well my water heater finally went down. Fred had helped me previously on short notice on this same heater when we couldn't get it to fire up. This time it was late into the day when I got home to cold water. I had promised to use Fred A2Z when this heater needed to be replaced. We called Fred on a recent Saturday afternoon over the Presidents' Day holiday weekend when our water heater stopped supplying hot water, and the original installer told us they only had a Tuesday appointment available. Our water heater was fairly new, only installed in September 2021. Fred said that he'd come out to our home on Sunday to check things out. He arrived when he said he would and provided quite an education for us. It seemed our recently installed system failed many safety features and even had melted insulation around one of the pipes. Let's start with this: YES, they are as amazing as everyone says! I've been around long enough and worked in a Customer Service capacity earlier in my existence to know that "over the top" isn't used much any more to describe business's treatment of their patrons.....but this is one of those times where every single mark was hit without fail: "Fred will be there at 8am to provide an estimate and will test you before to let you know he's on his way".: I get a text at 7:30 and at EXACTLY 8:00am (no kidding) Fred rings my doorbell. "Fred will review the situation and walk you through what is needed": I learned more about my water heater from Fred through this project than I ever expected....and not a pile of useless information but real-life facts and direction that will help me for a long time to come. I get an estimate, agree on the price/date/time and I get a packet of paperwork with truly helpful things like "what to do prior/during/after installation", their bona fides/certifications, smoke alarm/carbon monoxide requirements (needed for the inspection after), a list of FAQs, reference sheets from the equipment manufacturer, a list of glowing reviews and contact #s for the local permit offices (why? I'm not sure, because they set up the permit and the inspection for me). "Your appointment for the replacement is on Monday at 8:00am": Another text at 7:30 and this time, Fred shows up 3 minutes early.... because he's an overachiever. :-) I have a picture of the layout of all his equipment....an OCD-ers dream....a place for everything and everything in it's place.
