I do need to update my review. So I recieved an email from Sac county that my permit was about to expire due to water heater not being inspected. I contacted Water Heater Pros and they said I was supposed to set up the inspectiom through an email they sent me. I never recieved that email and they never explained the inspection process to me. We had an great experience with the purchase and installation of a Navien Heat Pump Water Heater from Water Heater Pros. The night before he was supposed to start the job, he called saying he now required payment day of instead of upon completion like his terms state and he confirmed over email. After moving into my new home, my wife discovered that the 75 gallon water heater wasn't producing hot water. We saw the dial was set to "warm" so we turned it to "hot" and it immediately over-heated and started pumping water out of the pressure relief pipe. Andrew and Alberto were absolute pros, spending an entire day hauling out both the broken 75g taken and another 50g tank, and replacing them with a tankless heater that fits our needs much better. And this was no easy job; the crawl spaces under the house are extremely tight and difficult to navigate. Alberto shared with me his stories of almost getting stuck right under the middle of the house! But they were champs and kept at it until all was installed, even coming back for a follow-up visit to ensure that everything was properly insulated and up to code. Our first and foremost concern for any customer is safety. The existing water heater had many safety code violations, and needed to be updated. We are sorry we could not please Mr. Kendrix." I agree that the water heater had two code violations. My issue was that they were never brought to my attention until my drywall was installed. The same code violations were there when the walls were open. Sad, the owner never addressed any of the unprofessionalism displayed by his employees. My third issue is with the statement "members that were out to this customers home on several occasions". They were out several times because they had to fix the subpar work that they did. My advice to customers, is never use this company. "We are sorry we could not please Mr. Kendrix." does nothing to satisfy the customer or show good will. read more

Update: A few months after having the corroded connector parts replaced, I walked into the room and smelled rotten eggs. Realized it could be a gas leak and called PG&E. They confirmed the water heater was leaking gas, and told me it was due to the new parts not being screwed on tight enough. So not only did the repair cost me money, it almost cost me my life. My old Takagi T-K3 tankless water heater was going out on me for a third time since it's purchase 12 years prior. The previous times it was fixed under warranty but due to the age of the unit, the failed controller board was no longer available even if I had wished to pay for it myself. So, that left me in the cold...literally. I began looking around for local shops that could provide a quick and speedy fix. Based on the reviews here and the web site that was very well laid out and informative as well as quite professional, Water Heater Pros looked to be the way to go. I gave them a call first thing Monday morning and a very sympathetic Erin listened to my needs and quickly got the ball rolling to get my tank replaced. I was quite impressed with the modern and tech savvy methods Water Heater Pros employed. Since I am own my own IT business, I greatly appreciated the tech aspect of Water Heater Pros. Within about an hour, I had a verified appointment for the next morning. Nice! The tech, Valentin, arrived shortly after 10:00 a.m.. He was quite professional and friendly. He setup in the garage with the new tankless heater, parts, and his required tools. He neatly moved items out of the way and removed the old unit. In the course of about 4 hours, he completed the replacement and successfully tested it. Once completed, he explained the features and how to configure any changes if I desired to do so. Valentin cleaned up everything and left it in a better condition than when he arrived. I was very pleased with his work. So why the three stars? Price. While I indeed accepted the quote, I did so rashly due to the new need for hot water quickly. I had little time to investigate or look into better pricing. That is my fault; however, when I requested an itemized receipt for tax purposes and a reflection here for an accurate review, I was told that due to this being a packaged deal, one could not be provided. As I've said, I own my own business and it's well known that "packaged deal" really means "hidden markup". When I began investigating pricing, I found that the unit I had installed, the Navien NPE-210A (10.1), ran between $1,375 and $1,450. I struggled to find it any higher than $1,600. If the labor was a very high $200 per hour and the parts another $200 that would put it at $1,000. So, for easy math, let's say the Navien was $2,000, that would make it a total of $3,000. I was charged nearly $5,000. That's almost a $2,000 mark-up! Now to be fair, I have found that Navien will not warranty it's product if it's not installed by an authorized dealer. That definitely can account for some mark-up but $2,000? If the price had been closer to the 3k figure, I would have given Water Heater Pros a five-star rating easily. The service was excellent and professional with Erin, Paul (the estimator), and Valentin. Valentin, returned to my house twice to fix a minor issue and did so without complaint. He fixed the problem and now our unit runs flawlessly. I run my business the way I expect to be treated and being gouged is something I never have done. Maybe I'm missing something on the pricing but Water Heaters Pro had an opportunity to educate me and they didn't. If you just require simple repairs without the need of equipment replacement, I would definitely recommend Water Heater Pros. If you do need to replace something and you have time to price check with others, I would STRONGLY encourage you to do that. Maybe Water Heater Pros are competitive and I am wrong in my presumptions. If so, I will gladly change the rating to five stars. read more

This company installed my current water heater about four maybe five years ago. The job was detailed as I was going from two water heaters to one. In order to do this they needed to up size my water heater and put a circular water piping system in the house. This meant that they had to spend a lot of time on my attic. Not a fun location to be sure. We did have a mishap when one of the workers slipped and stepped through the ceiling. The company without being asked stepped up and took care of the mess no questions asked. The company does quality work and stands behind the end product. The late review is tied to a recent experience where I had a service call on the system as it stopped working.
