The ceiling in all 3 rooms were not taking the bolts and mounts that came with these 3 ceiling fans... I immediately knew I needed help and yelped away. Huft was extremely quick with getting someone out to my home and assess the issues in the rooms for the ceiling fans install. They sent over JP... cannot say enough great things about JP. He was extremely friendly, and was very down to earth. He was very transparent with what needed to be done to get these fans installed. He took notice of the fans I needed installed and said he had installed similar ones and how cool they were. We needed an EV charger with a dedicated circuit for safety. The electrician was prompt and professional but quoted a price that is almost twice that of the other two bids I received. More importantly, Huft agreed to add the new 220v/50a circuit to our existing Zinsco-Sylvania electrical panel (albeit without guaranteeing his work!). Neither of the other two electricians would agree to work on the panel, it is well known for causing electrical/house fires! read more

I have been a Huft customer for over a decade. I pay them a monthly fee to service my HVAC system, which they installed. I received an email from my thermostat telling me that my system turned itself off because of error code 276. This has happened before and they have sent a technician to inspect it and get it working again. This time I called (at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Monday) and their newly installed automated system played its program repeatedly for three minutes before it told me that their was no one there to answer the phone. It suggested that I leave a message or call back at another time! I Presume that they will answer once they acquire the robot that they will program to come over and fix my HVAC system!! Huft is my home service company for all of my electrical and plumbing needs. Over the years, they have installed my new HVAC system with all new ductwork. They installed a new electrical panel as well as a smaller panel in my garage. Huft installed a new tankless hot water heater. They also installed a new bathroom fan as well as two bedroom fans. Carlos in the electrical department is the best! I have the monthly plan which includes a winter and summer HVAC tuneup as well as a yearly plumbing inspection. Don't do business with them, they don't care about appointments time and I feel like the in the whole company are working only 3 people that they don't know what they need to do. Our air conditioning broke we contacted them and we had an appointment between 12-4 , no one's showed up, 4.15 we called to asked about the technician and they said that they are running late. We had to reschedule. We rescheduled, the guy came and he told us that we may need 3 parts and they will have to order the parts and it is going to get them in 1 week, one we past and my husband called them 2 times and got the same thing like they are waiting for the parts to arrive. The 3rd time he spoke with someone that said that the parts did not get ordered now we were 2 weeks later. Finally the technician it supposed to come with the parts at 8 am , we got a call that he will be at our house by 8.30 . 8.15 we got a call that he will be late because they gave him the wrong parts and he has to go back . We are still waiting, lost my hope that this company will fix our air conditioning . We have jobs and all this situation made us loosing hours from work. read more

The AI chatbot insisted that I need to call them to talk to a human, which defeats the point of getting a quote through a chat - nevermind the harmful environmental/social aspects of using AI. Based on my interaction with this business, I would not recommend it or any other business that is "outsourcing" to AI, especially when the AI is wasting water by just saying "call our phone number" when I obviously didn't want to call hence starting the Yelp chat. read more

Huft has installed new air conditioners and heaters. They did a great job, and have since been maintaining the systems. (We have two each on our house). They are quickly responsive whenever we need them. They take photos and explain what they recommend, showing photos before and after work is done. I had a problem with my circuit breaker box on my house. It started in October 2024, I called American home shield my warranty company. My electricity kept going out. So I set up an appointment,they sent out a technician and since the electricity was currently working they said my company wouldn't cover any repairs. The breakers were loose and had a sizzling sound when touched. So we move into 2025 and it had gotten progressively worse. Now at this point the power was going out 1 to 2 times a day. So I got smud to come out the next day and confirm that it wasn't the power coming in the house but the buss bars on my box. I should have started with my house was built in the 50's and this was an original breaker box. Anyways I had American home shield send someone out again. Once again the power was on so nothing was wrong. So I had them send someone out for a second opinion because at this point I was afraid of fire. When the second opinion electrician came out he actually pulled a breaker out of the box and it was brittle and falling apart from the heat obviously coming from the box and the arching. He put it back in and I thought for sure with the smud report saying that the box needed repair or replacement and what the second repairman found they would have to fix it. NOT! They claimed I over loaded the system. I argued that the box was over 70 years old and I only had normal stuff like tv, refrigerator, etc in my house there was no way. Still they held to there finding based on the second opinion. I asked the second opinion ( which was Rendon Electrical in elk grove) how much it would cost to have them fix it. They gave me an estimate of $5500.00 and 2 weeks to get parts and smud permits. We had a over 100 degree heatwave coming the next week. Not to mention it was already hot in July in Sacramento we already had no AC because we had no power so we were dying. So I called a long time friend of my son John Kompa. Thankfully he is employed by the best customer service company I have ever dealt with Huft home services. Now I recommend Huft to my mom when she needed a new air conditioner for her house and they did a great job. But when I called John I was thinking he would know a good electrician since he was in the industry. Well turns out Huft does that to. I told John what the problem was and he had me contact Carlos immediately. I called Carlos and when I tell you he was a god send I am not kidding. Let me tell you why. He not only matched the quote I got from Rendon sight unseen ( which was a considerable discount) he also got an emergency dispatch on the job. Huft came out the next day, had smud come out that morning to turn power off in my house. Then did repairs and had smud come back to inspect the permitted work and turn power back on. So when I tell you Carlos was a god send I had power and AC the next day it was amazing. But let me tell you why home warranty company's hate Huft? I had a lawyer reach out to American home shield to pay my claim that they already denied multiple times and true to form they denied it again. I was still in contact with Carlos as I mentioned my problem with American home shield and he would call or text me to check on my progress and offer help.Carlos reached out after I had forgotten to contact American home shield in a couple weeks, and once again just checked in with me and offered to give them any supporting documents or information they might need to reconsider my claim. Well I gave them the information Carlos gave me and even gave them his email to contact him directly. I would forward there emails to him and he would answer there emails with facts that they would pick apart and say it was not covered. He went so far as to email them the Zinsco circuit breaker box information and the breakdown of the age and the problems with the box since the 70's or 80's when the went out of business. They once again picked apart his email and said that we fixed it because it was going to be a hazard. But Carlos explained to them that we fixed it because it already was a fire hazard and could cost them more money in future claims. Still nothing they changed there story 3 or 4 times about why they weren't going to cover the claim. Carlos was getting just a frustrated with them as me. So he finally gave them the pictures and the thermal scan information because Huft is that through. They had pictures of ever step and 1 of one of the buss bars working and 1 with the other one not working. This was proof there was a failure and they couldn't deny it anymore. It was all in the wording but Carlos never gave up. And low and behold I got my FULL reimbursement for the repair. Thank you Carlos for going way over and beyond your job to help a regular guy go against the big corporations. It means the world to me to know there are still people that care. And thank you Huft for having such a great trustworthy staff with a great work ethic. read more

Don't use them for electrical if you're in PG&E territory. I chose them because we are in an emergency situation with a broken main breaker. I expressed my urgency to the person who came out and to the person who handles electrical jobs. I went with them because they indicated that they had the bandwidth and would treat this like the emergency that it is. Things are moving slower than expected and I call PG&E and find out that the application is stalled because Huft hasn't notified us of a required action. We had a few bids out to get our hvac replaced due to old age and wanting to take advantage of a lot of the credits available, we reached out to Huft. Trevor came out and did a thorough assessment of our existing system and provided various options that would fit what was best for our house. He spent a lot of time going through the options assessing our duct work and talked about the comprehensive plans and scope of work. We required a new HVAC system at the end of 2022. We decided to purchase the new system through Huft. Unfortunately, the HVAC system Huft put in has had an error code since early 2023, and has not ever properly cooled/heated our home. Huft has not fixed the problem to this day (September 2025). We made the mistake of using Huft for a pluming project that included repiping our entire house. In the process of Huft repiping our home, they broke our washing machine. Also, after they completed repiping our home, there was a continuous leak found under one of the sinks in the bathroom. At this point, we are left without one usable bathroom sink and a broken washing machine. If you want a job done accurately, I would strongly advise NOT using Huft services ever. read more

Carlos D in Electrical is a superstar. I watched him deal with arrogant SMUD employees that cursed at his Install guys. The SMUD employee then refused to turn the electricity back on for the customer until later. He got in his truck and left. Carlos went above and beyond what customers ever get to see. Him going to bat against utilities for his customer. A real value you don't see in an invoice. His employees should also know how he stood up for them. I have had a monthly membership with Huft for HVAC service since 2018 when I purchased my house in Roseville. They come in spring and service my air conditioner and in fall to service my heater and I believe it's around $20/month for this maintenance package. On October 13, 2024 we had a fire in our garage. It's January and I am still waiting for the reconstruction an can't live in my house. We hired this company in 2020 to replace our heating and ac unit. We spent 15k and joined their monthly service program. It has been five years that we have been paying $18 a month for the service and they have not fixed ANYTHING! We have been without AC for three weeks. They have sent out "technicians" and I use that in the lowest sense of the word. It's been hell! We call, they come out, fix nothing! Came back to update-After three visit from techs that did not fix our ac and being without AC four times this spring and summer for a combined total of about 3 weeks. My husband called and spoke with a supervisor. They sent a lead tech out who simply had to do firmware updates on the system to get it to start working again. The tech was very nice and apologetic and I am very grateful he was able to fix it. I don't understand why they are sending untrained people who didn't know to do this! I received heating and air conditioner maintenance services from Huft Heating and Air over 20 years ago. They maintained my two heaters and two air conditioners for about 2 years. What I remember most about this company is that they serviced my units and identified potential problems, but they never tried to push me into buying new units. They said that the units needed to be replaced, but they did not brow beat us. Problems that could be repaired were done at a reasonable cost. They were always honest with me and I truly appreciated it. Brian Huft was the service person back then and I am appreciative that he has maintained the work ethics, professionalism, and honesty to this day. When we absolutely had to replace our units last year in April, I called Huft Heating, now known as Huft Home Services. They still had our information on file. The estimator came to our home inspected each unit and discussed all of the details, cost, thermostat, air intake grilles, etc. with us. He explained the estimates and was very thorough. We purchased 4 units, and we added a water heater and later a whole surge protector, and a new kitchen faucet. I waited a year to write this review because I wanted to be able to write about whether the value received is commensurate with the costs expended. The answer is a resounding Yes. Here's my overall opinion of the entire process from estimation to installation to operation: 1. The estimation process was through, all of our questions were answered and we were encouraged to call if we had further questions or needed additional clarification. 2. The two teams (heating and air) were stellar. The teamwork and knowledge that they displayed were miraculous to observe. These guys knew what they had to do and did it well. They took pictures and also took time to show us how things were progressing. At one point, I thought to myself this is going too well something is going to happen that I don't like. Nothing bad happened. They did a superb job. Kudos to Brian and staff. As I mentioned I have two heating units. One is in our garage and the other in the attic. The one in the attic is not easily accessible. In fact I think that it is a design flaw because the only way to get to the unit is through a grill on the side of the wall. Yes the side of the wall. The heating guys did not flinch when they saw the access grill. They got the old unit out and put the new unit in! Just wow. I swear I saw superhero capes flowing as they worked . There were some scuff marks, but they came back later and took care of them. The workmanship was beyond our expectations. 3. The faucet, water heater and the whole house surge protector installation was stellar, while less challenging than our one heater the installation of was still beyond our expectations. 4. All of the HVAC units are working perfectly and our heating and air conditioning bills reflect that, the water heating is working efficiently, and the faucet is working great. I cannot comment on the whole house surge protector as we have not had a condition requiring its use. But! we are ready if it's needed. They completed our HVAC system in January 2024. All of the technicians were wonderful and helpful and answered all our questions. We love our new Bosch HVAC. He coordinated the fix to all of our issues before I was able to call him back. His service techs were out here for about 6 hours today installing a new furnace. Christopher even had their system updated to reflect my pre-payment of the labor extension plan. Fingers crossed that the new furnace will fix all the issues that this system has been having. Thank you Christopher and Huft for actually caring about your business and customers! We bought a brand new heater and AC from Huft 3 years ago and every season since then each system has gone out. This time they charged me for labor costs. I checked my old paperwork and I pre-paid $1,000 for 10 years of labor! They should have that on file and not have charged me. Now I have to contact them and try to get my labor costs back. I hate this new system. It's been nothing but issues since Huft installed it. read more
