I called with an emergency. I had sewer water backing up all over my floors. I got a response quickly and shortly thereafter my problem was being treated. More than anything, I want to know what is happening, why it's happening, and what are my options. Thanks to such good communication, I had the information I wanted to make important decisions. All this is great but now let me tell you what made this company exceptional. They cleared a blockage on a Friday but I was informed that a much bigger problem with roots seemed to be far into the sewer line. He explained that the cleared blockage seems only temporary because of the presence of roots. It could be years without problems or only days. It was undetermined at that time without a camera inspection. We discussed options but with the system up and running...that was a problem for "Future Me." It was a comfortable conversation where I felt I was being informed without being oversold or pressuredBy 8am the next day, the future came calling...things were blocked again. I called back and got an immediate response. A camera inspection revealed the extensive root blockage and even though it was a big repair, he responded to this emergency and started the repair without delay. Things are fixed. I noticed that my water heater was leaking from the bottom with a steady drip. I called JK plumbing Friday evening right before closing time and spoke to Alik. Alik was very kind, courteous, and patient and was able to give me a quote over the phone after simply sending him photos of my water heater and connections. He answered my questions honestly and with clear explanations. Amazingly, Alik set me up with an appointment the next day at 11 am (even on a Saturday!) and he showed up right on time with a replacement water heater. This was less than 24 hours since talking to him! Alik and his partner did the replacement with the utmost professionalism. He explained everything to me ahead of time and the replacement was completed in a few hours. They worked very efficiently and quietly, such that it was completed before I expected. He and his partner even had the courtesy to clean and sweep up all around the area, including the water from the leak. Installation included haul away of my old water heater. Needed two main shutoff valves replaced and two hose bibs. Alik arrived for a consult to evaluate plumbing size before an estimate. Evaluated my project and said he had time to do it all now before his next call. Went and purchased necessary parts and returned quickly to start job. Existing plumbing from original construction in 1971 kind of " tight" but Alik evaluated the "puzzle" and made the appropriate cuts to install two new ball valves in the limited space. Alik replied to our Yelp request for a leaking hot water tank quickly and arranged to come that afternoon. Gave us options for tank and tankless, set clear and thorough expectations about timing of installation and what work would be required for each that allowed us to compare with other vendors. We had lots of questions and he was very patient answering them, including how the installation may need tweaking because of unexpected circumstances. Alik emailed quotes by the next day and after our decision to go with him and a tankless water heater because of his pricing, he kept us updated by text on the purchasing of equipment (including pictures). Alik showed up when he promised and kept us up to date throughout the installation that day. The work required patching the wall, and he returned 2 days later to paint the patch as he promised, even though we had already paid him (I know this sounds weird to be a praise, but we've had other experiences of vendors flaking out after payment, even if the work wasn't finished). We weren't available to look at his work so he texted us an "after" picture without prompting. Called to ask for a quote for a water heater repair, and was immediately asked for the age and brand of the water heater. I told him the problem with the pilot light, and he said that the supplier didn't have the part. I asked how much to replace the thermocouple, and he said at least $450 as it takes several hours to fix. He then said he could replace the entire water heater (after saying the supplier was out of that brand). I called another company and they sent a tech who fixed it in an hour including the time it took to drive to the store to get the $20 thermocouple. JK is perfect for people who don't have any idea that they are getting ripped off, but please don't be that person, and only use JK as an absolute last resort. Edit: This guy called me up to harass me, asking me if I believe in God, and then swearing at me. I guess if you are desperate on a weekend, and this is it, then go for it, but you will be scammed. read more
