We had sewage coming up in the upstairs shower and water leaking through my downstairs lighting fixtures. The patient and responsive staff answering the phone (late in the evening, mind you) had Jamal come out, and he fairly immediately identified the problem. It was not insignificant. Let's just say that no wipe is flushable. We just had to convince our 2 year old granddaughter of that! Jamal had to do quite a bit of work to fix a broken pipe (sawing through my first floor ceiling to get there). But he nailed it---And I think they charged a fair price for the repair! The other toilet wasn't working as well since I arrived 4/23, I had gotten quotes and was debating on calling a plumber, but having no toilets and not wanting to poop myself i decided to call a plumber in an emergency. I called Precision plumbing as my aunt had good experiences with them. They picked up immediately. Leo got me his technician Larry to come on a Saturday to fix my overflowing drain & Toilet seal. With both toilets down I called him around 230pm, his tech came in around an hour later and was able to resolve everything for a great price and everything was very cleanly done by Larry in a few hours. I had been quoted on yelp $600 to 700 4/23 to change the toilet valve, and I had assumed snaking the drain/ repairing the other toilet would be 1200 to 1500, + the overflow had popped the toilet wax seal, and precision plumbing got all those things done for under 1000$.

I had a very slow leak under my kitchen sink that went undetected for quite some time, but…read moreunfortunately I discovered it just 2 days before a party I was hosting and I wanted to get it finished quickly. A co-worker recommended Hall's, and I called on Friday morning around 7:30AM. I spoke with one agent first, who got my information down--including my request to have service done that day--and was then transferred to a second agent who helped me secure a window from 4-6PM, which would allow me to still go into work and not have to cancel my dinner plans. I was told that I would receive a call 30 min before the plumber would be at my house. I kept my phone off silent to listen for a call, and so I wasn't in a huge hurry leaving work. I was just getting to my car at about 4:05 when I received a call from Austin stating he was at my house and had already called me. I had no record of a missed call, text, or email. Luckily, I work in town and was able to get to my house in about 10 minutes. Austin was very friendly and greeted me outside of my house. When he checked under my sink he saw that two of the valves were leaking, and also commented on the shoddy workmanship with the installation of the drain and garbage disposal: typical of new construction. I could kind of sense this was building a case for something, but I waited for him to give his pitch. He said his "foreman" would probably only approve a total replacement of the valves rather than try to repair a potentially poorly-installed and low quality valve, and also suggested a replacement of the 3rd valve since that one would likely leak as well. I have had similar issues with leaky valves in the house, so that didn't seem to be an unreasonable assumption. Finally, we got down to brass tacks: the estimate. He explained that Hall's is expensive because they are a big company with a lot of overhead, but they were also the best. I didn't really need or want that sell. He gave me the price, which despite the warnings was actually not that unreasonable given similar service I had with my other valves, so I readily agreed. He then started talking about scheduling the service, at which point I told him I was expecting to get the repair done that day, thanked him for the estimate, and said I would need to consider other options. This was not a strong-arm tactic: I was hosting a party the next day and wanted to get this done and dusted. Austin had to go ask for permission, which meant a further delay to the service. Austin was given permission to do the repair and got right to work. We chatted a bit while I was cleaning and he was working, and at one point he assured me that I had made the right choice to repair all of the valves because they were marked as "low lead" and insinuated they were not safe. I did a cursory search online to find this was a typical marking for legal compliance and not a cause for concern, but that the stainless steel valves he was installing were better quality and didn't contain even those trace amounts of lead. In addition to replacing the valves, Austin also adjusted the loose connections in the drain and put up a Junction box for the garbage disposal that had fallen down. He cleaned up after himself and tested to ensure everything was in working order. Payment was easily made with a card, and he was finished just before 6, giving me time to get ready for dinner and arrive just a little late. He did offer to look at the other sinks in the house, but I really couldn't delay any further and declined that offer. Austin did call me once more when I was on my way out of the house to see if the screws had accidentally punctured the outside wall of my kitchen island, but luckily that wasn't the case. If you value upfront pricing and quality service backed by a 1-year warranty, then you may want to consider Hall's for your next repair. If time efficiency is not the priority, I may also do the same. I also prefer a more no-nonsense approach. I would likely also trust them for any installations or major plumbing repairs, as they seem more resourced for bigger projects.

The guy was in and out of my house within 20 minutes. I won't ever use 5 Star Plumbing again. I will not recommend 5 Star Plumbing to anyone. The reason for the 2 stars - same-day service, notification of ETA, and he cleaned up after completion of the job. That's it. The absence of the other 3 stars - ridiculous inflated cost. The review process asks the question... What could improve? The best answer I have for that question...I should improve. I need to pay closer attention to the content of the negative reviews. I won't make that mistake again.

It was a simple fix as they were able to quickly reignite the pilot light and the serviceman explained and showed me how to reignite it myself should this happen again. Literally, after the service man left, an hour later, the pilot light went out again. I called McKee plumbing back and asked if the service man could return. I decided to go ahead and replace the water heater and the serviceman was kind enough to apply my initial service call fee towards the cost of the replacement which they didn't have to do. Read to the end The…read moresewer line was backed up and initially I had a reputable company come out to snake it and clear the pipe. The tech did what he could and ran into an obstruction. He recommended hydro jetting it for an additional $485 and then sending a camera through (another $250) to take photos to make sure the line was clear. I decided to get a second opinion and luckily found Dustin at Honest Sewer and Drain. He came out to the house the same day, was able to take a photo (for NO Charge) without hydro jetting and locate the problem as a root ball growing into the pipe. He snaked and cut out the roots and the line is flowing again. All for $270 (after a 10 percent discount)! No hydro jetting, no charge for the photos. The next day the bathtub line was clogged and he came out and got it flowing again. No additional charge! Hard to believe but it's true. Dustin is in it for the long haul - he understands that a business is built on delivering competent, professional and honest service. So refreshing to work with Dustin and his team - highly recommend!
