I highly recommend Tom and the team at AAA on Speedway. I have taken my 65 Mustang to several different automotive shops for repairs with little or no positive results. In a couple cases, my car ended up with more issues when I picked it up than it had going into the shop. At AAA, a diagnostic process was used to identify specific issues, and I was given a comprehensive report. The mechanics there addressed the problems in a timely manner and with a very reasonable charge. I would like to come back again but after my experience I'm praying to god that I don't need to. I thought I was the only one who got a bad taste about one of the employees there but I am not the only one. I had a very bad experience with TOM I wish someone else would have stepped up and decided to help me by the look on my face. TOM is very rude, inconsistent and has a very bad attitude. I left my car for the day at AAA because I had to work so they can see what was wrong with my car and I never received and update with my car while i was at work so I headed over after and tom had NOTHING ready so I had no idea what was going on so I kindly asked him for a list of what was wrong so I can show my dad and he rudely said no because he was working on it. He had all day to do this so that just showed me how unprofessional he was and ever since that I hated talking to him but I had no choice because I needed my car fixed. Not competitive prices. They charge $199 per hour. My bill went from an initial estimate of $650 to $3300 in three day, with no end in sight. I asked how much their mechanics made and was told that wasn't my business. I certainly hope they make more than minimum wage. read more

I first used this facility back in 2022 and had a great experience. When my air conditioner stopped cooling recently I brought my car in to have the problem diagnosed and repaired. This more recent experience was horrible. None of the people I dealt with in 2022 were there and the person I had to deal with was surly and not particularly helpful. They charged me more than $200 just to diagnose the problem. Their "diagnosis" was Nothing more specific than "a leak". For the $200+ diagnosis charge I would have expected something far more specific. Their repair estimate was for more than $2,600 and included replacing just about the entire AC system. A sure indication they had no idea where the leak was or whether there was in fact a leak. Not being satisfied with this result I took the car to Arizona Auto Refrigeration on Park Ave. I am so glad I did. The experience was incredible. For the diagnosis AND repair I was charged a total of $213! Only slightly more than AAA charged for a diagnosis and not a very helpful one at that. The AC now works as well or better than when the car was new! Please, please, please if your car has an AC problem do not consider taking it to any other place than Arizona Auto Refrigeration. You will not regret it. As for AAA, I no longer feel I can trust them and will be taking my vehicles to a different facility when service is required.Terr read more

As for now we towed our car in for repair. They quoted me one price and got it all fixed, Great. They were rude to my wife when she picked up the car but 2 hours later same problem and were stranded not being able to shift the vehicle. Car wasn't properly fixed. My 1996 Toyota RAV 4 stalled on my way to the airport to catch a flight for a six month visit to Mexico and Guatemala. I knew I needed a new battery soon and I believed that might be the problem. AAA offered to get me to my flight and to deliver it to storage when it was running again. Great service! I received a call in Guatemala that there was no compression in cylinder one and I needed an engine rebuild. I was unsure if the vehicle was worth it, but I had been living and traveling out of it since being displaced by The Lava Fire in northern California the previous June but I felt I would need a dependable vehicle when I returned. With a new clutch and battery it cost me $6700. Close to my current yearly Social Security income. Luckily due to the magic of credit cards (24 per cent interest) I was able to have the work completed. Driving back north with approximately one thousand miles on the rebuild the oil pressure light began coming on. I had it towed to the Fairfield California AAA repair facility. I was told there was low compression and an oil leak in cylinder on After a week's wait I am informed that a replacement engine is on the way and due to the fact that the rebuild was beyond the warranty time(?), It would be a one time no charge replacement. read more

We had excellent service regarding a short in the steering wheel column causing the truck starting problems. We initially had the truck towed to the manufacturer (Chevy) and they did nothing so we took it to this AAA that had been recommended to us and was very pleased. Excellent customer service too. I received excellent service at this center after having my vehicle towed in for extensive repairs. Proposed services and charges were explained in advance, and the service advisor kept in touch throughout the repair process. Although my vehicle had to be kept for approximately one week (partially due to July 4 holiday), this was still a shorter timeline than was offered by dealerships and other service centers. When I picked up the vehicle, the air conditioner was not working (which may or may not have been related to the extensive repairs completed) and this issue was resolved at no charge to me. As part of this process, I used AAA's complimentary Lyft shuttle service for transport to/from home, which was also very convenient and satisfactory. I recommend this center to others and will likely return for future repair/services. read more

They have done it for a third time!! Do not go here. This is truly the most uninformed and unorganized repair shop ever. They do not acknowledge or accept appointments made online. That's fine, but then have an automated email that says to call to schedule. Or they could just take the entire option off the website. I understand at site lever they may not have authorization or access to do that but move it up the ladder. Every time I have gone here they try to tell me there's a bunch of stuff wrong with my car. Which is not true because it's very well taken care of, and quite honestly I have eyes. Also don't bother sending your AAA number to them when they reply to your reviews. Nothing will come of it. I apologize for writing this review 2 months late, but you know what they say, better late than never! I recently moved to Tucson and I haven't had a need for mechanics until 2 months ago when my daughters VW Beetle decided to develop a crack in its coolant reservoir while she was driving on Broadway. My daughter called me and like a good dad, I immediately responded to my daughters location where she pulled over because she saw the radiator light go on. I requested for AAA tow. Upon the tow truck drivers arrival, I began to talk to him. He learned that I had recently moved to Tucson and had not found a quality mechanic shop for my vehicles to be serviced. He suggested that I try "AAA Tucson Speedway Auto Service. " I'm so happy that I had my daughters VW Beetle transported to AAA Tucson Speedway Auto Service. I followed my daughters vehicle there and was greeted by the manager whom I believe his name is Shaun. He was very pleasant, courteous and immediately assisted me. He completed the paperwork and advised that "Amy" would be my service advisor snd she would call me the next day. Sure enough I received a phone call and a detailed email from Amy Salter listing the condition and problems of the Beetle. Amy was very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and courteous to me. She explained everything to me and assisted me with my best options for the prompt repair of the vehicle. I had my daughters vehicle fixed and ready to drive out the door within 72 business hours. I was amazed. For me, just interacting with people who clearly enjoyed their work, genuinely enjoyed talking to me and were so nice is the reason I moved to Tucson. The manager Shaun should be commended for demonstrating his leadership skills by getting his hands "dirty" and assisting his service advisors when I arrived because his service advisors were busy assisting others. He should further be commended for his work ethic, friendliness, knowledge snd professionalism. Went in for oil change. The work was done quickly and satisfactorily. When the keys were returned to us, we were given paperwork on things they recommended be done ASAP. It was about $1800 worth of repairs. It's been several months so I don't remember too many details other than replacing the timing belt. The man said it looked as though it had never been replaced even though the car has over 100K miles on it. I took it to the mechanic we have used for almost 15 years and he showed me the date on the timing belt when he replaced it less than 2 years ago. I would not trust them to tell me what really needs repairing on the car. My mechanic is thoroughly honest, helpful, and reasonably priced. read more

I am giving this shop 1 star, because of a legit reason and their insurance they "didn't do anything wrong". We ended up there after a front brake caliper failed, locking up the right front. Well, they fixed that fine, also hitting us up for replacement of about 8 feet of brake line they said was "bent". Took their word for it. Another 400 bucks for that. So, I go to pickup the car, arrive just in time to witness their "shop helper" jump start the car. All was good until they opened the trunk to access the battery (every service manual I've seen states to jump at the remote battery terminal under the front hood. You know why? So some knucklehead won't accidentally cross-polarity the leads. You guessed it, the helper landed negative to positive and positive to negative!!! I have never seen sparks like that come out of a battery. I'm sure the kid thought he was getting electrocuted!! Like a typical shop owner- manager ( if that's what he is, Shawn complained about having to replace the battery they ruined. Well guess what? ​We have had problem after problem since this incident. I have had to replace the engine computer, have our custom tune sent from a shop in Cali and installed by a local shop (another 500 bucks). As for their work, they do a great job if they can do it correctly the first time. Waited at least 6 weeks for three rims to be returned because one of the rims was shoddy workmanship. Then waited another week before they could get a shipping company to ship out the wheel. Discount? The main collision center who used this company was too pussy to get one. I found out after I checked the oil they had put too much oil in it and I had to take it back so they can drain the overflow and put in the correct amount. They took care of the problem....since it didn't require parts, they only charged me an hour of labor. I went there based on a recommendation from someone. I made an appointment online and eventually got a call that my day of choice wasn't available (why was it a selection?) and scheduled out another week. The man checking me in was very nice and said they'd send me a report soon and someone would call me. I dropped off my car at 8 and called after 2 p.m. since I hadn't heard anything and then the report was magically sent. I okayed some items and specifically authorized a coolant flush since it was low and old. When I got home and checked, it was still low and old. At least they didn't charge me for that. Even with the member discount, the prices seem outrageous based on other places and they charged me outrageous labor to install a simple air filter when I spent about $150 on a diagnostic for another problem I didn't fix. I am not an AAA member. I am a senior looking for an oil change for my car. I searched online, and AAA Tucson had a good deal (advertised) and an online appointment scheduler. I made the appointment online. They called me back to say that the appointment I had made wasn't available. It's hot here in the summer, and I had asked for early morning. Their representative, Tom, told me there wasn't a morning appt available until the following week. I told him I was going to look around more, but maybe they should fix their online scheduler? He gave a long song and dance about why that wasn't possible, and seemed argumentative about it, and I told him that I didn't want to argue, just leave feedback, which I had done, so I terminated the call. He called me back to argue some more, called me a foul name, and hung up on me! The guy is a menace, and should be fired. I've complained to the company, and filed a complaint with the BBB already, and Yelp is my last stop. Hope they do something about Tom! It's not a deal if you have to take abuse from their employees!! read more

Took my 81 year old mom for $459 for 2 keys for a 2007 Camry. She'd been in the hospital and unable to drive for a couple months. She called for a jump start & they said it wouldn't jump & needed service. $459 later she had 2 new keys (made & programmed by a 3rd party) but still had a 5 year old battery with lots of corrosion inside the one terminal. To make matters worse, when I tried the keys in the door to manually unlock it, one didn't work. Took it back. They had the 3rd party come back to fix it. Next day I go to pick it up- both work in door but one doesn't work in trunk. He blames it on "needed lube" and cranks on it *really* hard and it opens. I was upset because one of the two keys and the old key I still had worked great. We did end up having to replace the bad battery after all. My gut tells me it was the battery all along. read more

Received a bunch of coupons in the mail for various repairs and services from the AAA repair center. I chose this Speedway location as it was closest to my home. I opted for a multi-point inspection, oil change and a code reading as my brake and check engine light was on. When the inspection was done Benny gave me he rundown. It sounded so bad. My rear cylinders were leaking, front shocks needed to be replaced, serpentine belt was cracked, rear tire had an "unrepairable" leak, etc. He told me what my engine code was but wouldn't explain what it meant. Just said to tell you that we'd need to do a full engine diagnostic (which was over $100 without any work actually being performed to repair). The rear brake cylinder repair was the only things I was given a price on and it was over $600! After that i didn't even ask how much the rest would be. I had some serious sticker shock. I decided to get a second opinion and ended up taking it to another shop the next day. The first thing they said was "your brake fluid is almost empty" that's dangerous. AAA changed my oil and did a full multiple point inspection and didn't have the courtesy to at least tell me it was almost empty? The brake light was on! When I put fluid in it immediately went off. The other shop replaced my front shocks, rear brake cylinders and got my check engine light taken care of ($50 - O2 sensor) for $500. Oh, and they also topped my windshield wiper fluid off. That hadn't been done either. Turns out my serpentine belt was fine too. Bottom line: GET A SECOND OPINION IF YOU TAKE YOUR CAR TO AAA. Bunch of rip off artists over there. read more

This garage has price gouging to the max! Twice the price for two new axles as my regular garage, Brake Masters, on speedway. AAA says you get a discount. 15% off labor and still twice as much! And the warranty isn't as good as Brake Masters. They did not do the repairs in a timely manner as well! read more

Working with AAA Tucson Speedway Auto Repair Center was a great experience in all ways. I am from out of town on a cross county trip, when the car decided to break down. I had the vehicle towed to their location by Bulldog Towing (another great success story). Amber, their service advisor, contacted me to walk be through the entire process. She always kept me updated on the progress of the repair work. When the work was completed they answered my many many questions and even had the mechanic that serviced my vehicle come out and join the conversation to make sure everything was answered. I understand that finding a garage that will provide excellent and timely service is often times very difficult. If you find yourself in the same situation that I did, traveling through and in need of service, this is the garage to go to. If you live in the Tucson area and are looking for a garage to service your family's vehicles, I would highly recommend AAA Tucson Speedway Auto Repair Center.
