If I would give ZERO STARS I would. Overpriced, crooks!!! Performed a recommended unnecessary service and ruined my transmission. Kept truck 6 days with zero communication and them saying the truck was "fine" and since I was upset paid me 300 to stay quiet. Sure enough the truck broke down again less than 2 weeks later and they are taking no responsibility. Icing on the cake is the owner lied about who he was on the phone and then hung up on me.. and then I called back with he and the receptionist hanging up on me about ten times when my truck was being towed there to be inspected. DO NOT TRUST THIS Mechanic for honest work or customer service. Unprofessional, rude and crooked. Will never recommend. read more

I made an appointment through their website that went nowhere. Then I called to make an appointment and they did a nice job on that. They had trouble installing an air filter though that was a genuine part. So that failed. Funny thing though, I went to AutoZone bought a filter and replaced it myself in 5 minutes . read more

My car was in real bad shape, I went to Klipper auto for a quote of how much they would charge me for the things I needed, and I not only got a quote, the manager, gave me a discount. I was so happy to hear that because I knew I didn't have a lot of money, especially for car stuff. This was the first time the guys at this store met me, and they wanted to give me a discount. That was pretty cool! I definitely wanted to come back if they gave me discount to things! Plus they were really thorough with everything they did! I had to go there a 2nd time and when my car came out of the shop it started like it was brand new again!!!! I'm definitely coming back to Klipper with all my car trouble needs!!! On top of this, if your car battery dies in the morning on the way to Klipper, if you live close enough, the Klipper courtesy car would come pick you up with no cost being charged. On my way to my first appointment, I discovered a flat tire. I rolled into Klipper with the spare. Jon promised to see what neighboring Big O Tires could do. Not only did Klipper fix my original problem at the best price I could find (I called around to compare), but the tire was fixed and remounted at no charge! That's the kind of service I've come to expect and appreciate. This is the first time I have brought in my vehicle, however, my husband has had his serviced here in the past. My vehicle is a sports car, German, and usually I get the run around on prices as well as up services and charges. Not only did Klipper service my car in the time they said they would, they took car of my tire pressure issues due to weather, and returned the car to me by mistake he time promised. Klipper did not overcharge me, they were honest and hard working. What an amazing business! My car absolutely died last night. I knew it wasn't the battery since it's brand new. We then thought it was the starter. I had the car towed to Klipper that night. By 10:30 in the morning my car was done. I was ready for some super high price tag but it very reasonable and everyone in the shop was so friendly. As I was trying to figure out what to do, my wife suggested I call Klipper even though it was close to closing time. Curt (sp?) explained he didn't have anyone to send over for a jump. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and to evaluate the condition of the vehicle, which has been serviced here for over 10+ years so that it would be safe, reliable, and no major issues soon afterward. "Everything was GREAT," but 3 days later, it was not. The transmission went out, and my daughter and I were stuck on the side of the road. They couldn't send their shuttle because I needed to wait for their tow company. Overpriced rebuilt transmission, lack of proper communication with the employees. No one knew anything, including when the vehicle was actually finished when communicating with the rental company. Lack of communication and professionalism, without a doubt. Talked to like I was just a burden. Was told 1 thing and then hit with an over $300 charge because of the lack of proper communication. Sarcastic comments about "not being able to predict the future" apparently looking at the car for an entire day didn't show any suspicions of the transmission not working properly. This has caused a major headache within the family, financially impacted, and now I just do not trust this place. I don't wish for a reply as I simply am just frustrated and overwhelmed with what this has caused by taking it here. Personally, too many workers who aren't on the same page or willing to actually listen and communicate accurately. read more

I wish I could give Klipper Automotive a good review. Yes, they worked hard on our car. But overtightening our wheel bearing and then refusing to take ownership left me concerned. Did they do all that work to correct shoddy workmanship? Sadly, on top of that, they claimed 40 and thirteen years of experience for their mechanics. If this is the case, then why over tighten a bearing in the first place? They claimed it never happened. All I know is my car never made that noise before I went to Klipper and the noise was gone after my husband loosened the bearing. He may be retired and only have 20 years of experience as a mechanic, but I'd trust his experience with our car over their's any day! Do yourself a favor, think twice about going to Klipper so you don't have to worry every time you drive down the road. read more

I have taken my car to two other shops who just turned my engine light off and as I drove off it turned on. They made sure that the light would not come back on and did everything to fix it. Had one good experience here getting an oil change. Decided I'd go here a second time since my normal place is extremely expensive and I happened to have a weekday off which is rare for me. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and arrived back 50 minutes later. It was being pulled out of the bay and I saw a huge corner missing from one of my hubcaps. Asked them about it and said it broke because it was "extremely brittle" and since it was a manufacturer's hubcap they would call around to some junk yards to see if they can find one. Well it's not a manufacturer's hubcap and this was an aftermarket set that was as close to original as I could find since the original set tend to be around $200. They took ownership and said they would replace the hubcaps. After sitting in the tiny waiting room for over 2 hours while "they delivered the wrong ones" multiple times I got tired of waiting as I had an agenda full of things that I wanted to do on my rare weekday off not sit there for hours while they "tried" to replace the broken hubcap. I asked for a refund and they had to call someone to ask? Overall just a terrible experience. I'll stick with the expensive place I normally go to. This place is cheap for a reason, they wanted to bring up all the "5 star reviews" that's fine but they are all from new accounts with a small number of reviews. More than likely asked to leave a review. Nothing special about this place - I do have to say the owner is extremely nice and I think his intentions are well but unfortunately he's not the one out working on the cars so I don't care how many years he's been working on them as he's not anymore. read more

I travel a distance to go exclusively to Klipper because I totally trust John & his experienced team. He would never 'up-sell' me any service that my car doesn't need. As a matter of fact, I thought I needed a certain service on my car, & more than once he told me to wait, as it was unnecessary at that time. Staff was extraordinarily friendly. Service was fast and I got an appointment the same day I called. Best price in the area for my service as well. Only complaint is that I asked them to look at the underside of my car to see if they could fix the cover that had shattered and they said it had no issues but it's in multiple pieces held together by tape. read more

No one likes to have to have work done on their vehicles. It's never convenient and sometimes expensive. However, you won't find a more honest shop in town. We were referred to John years ago when he was with a shop in Oro Valley. After a service center at the Auto Mall told my mom she needed thousands of dollars worth of maintenance and repairs done on her vehicle, we took it to John. After an hour, he told us that none of those things needed to be done and didn't even charge us for looking at it. It was then that he earned my business. Over the years, we've had a couple of repairs done on our own vehicle. Most recently, we had our transmission rebuilt at Klipper. About a month later, we noticed some transmission fluid in our carport. Klipper looked at it right away. Determined that the transmission coolant hoses (which were probably not replaced when the transmission was rebuilt) were cracked and leaking. A couple of hours later they were replaced and I was back on the road - no additional charge! That's the kind of customer service that I appreciate and that is rare these days. read more
