I tried to reach out to this company again to deal with a leak. Got some response but their phones were down at the time and they could only communicate online. Wasn't able to confirm a date and time as they must've been busy. The owner remembered an issue that I had last June, and what he had suggested probably would've prevented this request and this updated review from even happening that I am making presently. None of the others I reached out to had the foresight that AAA Chimney Experts had. AAA is all about quality, prevention, and minimal aggravation for the consumer. They may or may not always have a good schedule for you- it's hit or miss as it seems that way with most businesses in the construction field. I booked this guy for a simple chimney sweep. While booking the appt he didn't seem like he wanted to book the appt and said things like "I might be able to do it in about two weeks..." Once the appointment was booked there wasn't much confidence that he would keep the appointment. Because of this, I kept calling around and found someone who could do it sooner and they had a better price, so I went with them. When I called him back to cancel (with over 10 days until our appointment) he got mad and asked why I was canceling, and then proceeded to say, "you know what I'm not going to fight for this [appointment], if this guy wants to cancel then fine." And then he hung up on me. Obviously a real professional. I would suggest you look elsewhere. UPDATE: in reply to the comment below; I was not mad about availability, two weeks out was reasonable. The issue I had was the uncertainty they had that they could "probably get out to me in two weeks." "Probably" doesn't help anybody. So even though we had a date on the books, it seemed very uncertain. This is why I kept looking for other options. I called to cancel with plenty of time to give them a heads up, but the response I got was rude, and yes, they hung up on me. If they were in the field and could not talk then they could 1) not answer and take a message, or 2) let me know that they were currently occupied. Instead they asked why I was cancelling and as I was trying to answer them they interrupted me and rudely said "I'm not going to fight for this, if this guy wants to cancel then fine" and then hung up on me. Rude from beginning to end. If they didn't want to do the sweep job they should have said so, that would have been fine. But to reluctantly take the job and then treat a booked customer like that is ridiculous. It's correct I never received service from them, nor would I want to now. Their work may be top notch, but I didn't have a decent interaction with them during any of the calls. They're rude and they obviously don't see how they treat the people they speak with. read more

Great Inspection! We are in escrow to purchase an older home, and needed a thorough inspection of our chimney. John came through for us. Not only did he do a very thorough inspection of our wood burning fireplace and chimney, he also examined our non venting gas fireplace, the furnace and hot water heater venting. I scheduled twice for them to come out and look at our damper. Twice I was told they didn't have me on the schedule. In our first call I explained that we have cold air coming in our home because the damper isn't closing. On cold days the temperature in the house is 55, so I needed someone to come before temperatures drop further. After the second appointment was missed, I was told I'm not a priority and they are busy. If that's the case, don't take my appointment. After C&C Chimney Maintenance conned me into paying $350 dollars for a $45 dollar chimney cap and told me that my chimney will collapse if I dont get it repaired asap. I had them come in to check my chimney. They told me my chimney needed major repair. I tried to ask for more details. They became impatient, and not willing (or not able?) to fully explain. They basically told me "repair it, or risk your own life". After they left, I sought 2nd and 3rd opinions from other contractors, and were told that my chimney is perfectly fine. I moved from Virginia to Philly in 2017. I had these guys come back in 2018 and they showed me images from the scope they were using. The problem was that the date on the scope said 2013 or something like that. The guy told me not to worry about it, that they just couldn't change the date for some reason. He showed me all these areas of damage and then said we would need a chimney liner for almost $6,000. Then I saw posts on next door that said some chimney companies show images of other people's damaged fireplaces just to get the work. We hired someone else for a second opinion and found out that the images they showed us were NOT in fact our chimney. On a scale of 5 stars, John and his team would have earned 10 stars for the rebuild they did of the chimney. It wasn't a five-star job; it was a 10-star job. Earlier in the year, my chimney was badly damaged by high winds during a severe thunderstorm. The base of the brick chimney actually shifted during the storm, which is reflective of the massive force exerted upon it. When viewed from street level, you could actually see the brick chimney leaning over towards the roof of the adjacent twin house. It was a dangerous situation because if the brick chimney toppled over, the weight of the bricks would have torn right through the roof and the ceiling of the adjacent house. I called John and he came out and provided an estimate. He provided an estimate on time and cost. To fix the chimney, John needed to level the leaning chimney, which meant he had to remove the existing brick and liner and then rebuild the entire chimney from the roof up. John completed the work within his time estimate. He estimated it to take one day; he finished it in one day. John charged nothing more than the original estimated amount. Moreover, during the performance of his many chimney jobs, he has picked up a number of serviceable, stainless steel tops to chimneys. So John provided a top to the new chimney without me having to go out and spend an additional hundred dollars to purchase one!!! He did such a great job on the chimney that I am going to have him spot point areas of the brick walls to the house. If you have a chimney problem, --------- call John! I first contacted John for a chimney sweep service. He was out a few days later. While he was here cleaning the chimney, he took a look at the furnace chimney, and noticed a blockage there - a few tiles had fallen at some point, reducing the outflow of air. This could have been very dangerous, and I prefer not to think of how long it had been blocked! He explained the issue clearly, and what the options were for a repair. We scheduled a return to install the liner. Overall it took a few hours. He and his crew were professional, friendly, and respectful. I can't speak much to the work as I know nothing about chimneys, but it looks great inside and out and is covered with a ten year warranty. I was not happy with my experience with AAA Chimney. They were in cahoots with another contractor who tried to tell me I need a new heater which I didn't. The contractor they sent to my home they were in cahoots with costs me unnecessary money. I had to get another reputable contractor just to tell me I wasted my money getting a new liner for the roof and that my heater did not need to be replaced but just cleaned. On 5/27/2015 AAA Chimney Experts did tuck/point work to the front of my brick house. As per our contract the color of the mortar was to match the "original" and "bring full restoration to the home". The mortar color does not match when in fact there are "3" different mortar colors. The point work was done poorly with incomplete mortar to the joints and there is mortar overlapping onto the bricks. The Mortar is crumbling and falling out in areas. The entire look and curb appeal to my house has been ruined. John Corallo of AAA Chimney Experts is well aware of the issues and as of 7/31/2015 has done nothing to resolve the problems.
