PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING AN ANNPOINMENT. Took my 2017 Buick here to find the reason for a whistling noise and an oil change. When we went to pick up the car my husband drove it off the lot and the whistling was still there. I immediately called and was informed that they needed to order 2 more parts. The Parts came in pieces in 2 different deliveries. We took the vehicle back on Friday, I was informed they replaced the parts but could still not find the source of the whistle. (remember they called me on Monday that the car was finished!). So they had the car all day Saturday as well and no call to update. I called for an update and was told they had to stop working on the car because they needed to fix 2 other cars!!!!! I new where I stood at that point AND they never called me back before they closed for the weekend. At this point I had it! First thing Monday morning called another shop and they said to bring the car in. So I called and told them I would be picking up my car and taking it somewhere else. I paid a total of $828.24 for 3 days in the shop at AAA Crofton, car is not fixed AND after I paid $173.99 for them to run Diagnostics. I know I owe for parts but labor for diagnostics is ridiculous. They did not diagnose anything. I also reviewed them on their site and no one has even reached out to me. They did not supply the quality of the service I expect from AAA, The new shop diagnosed the issue within an hour, ordered the part and had my car fixed and on the road a day before promised. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR TIRES!! Took my car in after being told my tire had a hole in the seam wall that was not repairable. We were in a pinch as our usual mechanic couldn't get the tire and get us taken care of same day. I purchased a tire at AAA, Gambrills and paid to have it installed while I waited. Left there happy thinking my tire had been replaced only to arrive home and realize they had not replaced the tire as I requested and paid for but simply plugged the hole in a way that would not last 10 miles. Went back and talked to the manager and was told that he did not know how that mistake could have happened and that it would take 3-5 weeks to get my money back. To say I felt cheated is an understatement- not sure what is going on at this "service center" but be aware! read more

Where do I begin? My wife's vehicle has been at this location since September 2024 with very little communication. The old store manager was very rude and argumentative. He didn't know how to speak to customers after they said they fixed the vehicle and then said something else is wrong with it. When asked to speak to his regional manager he hung up on me. Then I had to call another location to get ahold of his district manager for things to start to move along. The district manager listened to the phone call and apologized how his employee handled that phone call and his rudeness. He looked into my wife's car and got back to me about 1-2 weeks later or so, and said that they would fix the issue with a heavy discount. He said he had a mechanic that could do the work and he would contact us when the vehicle was finished. A few months go by with no communication, so I decided to reach out to the location after I couldn't get ahold of the district manager. Come to find out that old store manager was fired for the way he treated the customers, and the district manager passed away about a week or so after I last spoke to him. Mind you this is probably 2-3 months later with no communication about my wife's vehicle until I reached out to them. Then I was told there was no district manager replacement assigned and I would have to wait and one would be in contact with me. 2-3 months later still nothing so I decided to call and see what was going on. The store manager Will said that his boss Melvin would be in contact with me about the next steps. Needless to say this was about 7 months after my vehicle arrived at the AAA crofton location. Now we are being told the vehicle can not be fixed even tho they told me they could previously and for all the money I paid for a vehicle to be used for my wife I was out of and they were not covering the cost. Mr. Todd Davis is the one that reached out and told me his is the final decision maker and that we need to get our vehicle or they would tow it where we needed it. The issue is the vehicle has been there for 8 months with very little communication from then when they say they would call back and for them to tell me they would fix the vehicle with a heavy discount and now that they can't fix the vehicle and we are stuck. If you were me what would you do? We are out 5k-6k for a vehicle for the last 8 months and they say it's our problem for them throwing things underneath the rug. I took my car into AAA in crofton...my car just started overheating...they told me it would be a few days before they looked at it...well they called me and said I needed a upoer radiator hose...they said I should get both of them replaced...they said the price was 1500...I asked how much for one hose they said $900 bucks....i couldn't afford it and told them I would be able to pay for it in the 15 of December...they said they would keep the car until I paid. Well I thought this price seemed high for just a hose...and I did some research and found that this price was extremely high...in fact I was given a price of 400 dollars by an independent mechanic...he also said that they must have given me a price for a radiator backflush and other things...but they told me it was just for a hose...well today 11/16 I am going to try to have my car towed from there....because I see that this is an extremely high amount for a radiator hose....i went to triple Aaa because I thought they looked out for their customers...I guess this is not true harry sanders aaa #003231600 8 3013560621 read more

Very pleased with the service I received at this location. From the warm greeting when I first walked in, to the service team helping me find the perfect tires for my Jeep within my budget. Everything was explained to me in detail, the technician that worked on my vehicle even took time to show me my options. The management is doing a marvelous job down to the staff, cleanliness, hospitality, customer service, and overall service across the board. I purchased 4 new tires and got my passport photos taken here. Highly recommend to a friends and family. Gambrills is my preferred location when it comes to any AAA in store needs. read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences here. I'm not what you might call a "car guy," so I'm always leery about having any work done on my vehicle. You could tell me the 'stars-on-sneetches' distributor was busted, and I would probably agree with you. Fortunately, we have AAA down the road from our house. They take the time to explain the problems and solutions in lay terms. Their prices are more than reasonable and very competitive from what we've shopped around for in the past. Know this! If you want something simple like an oil change, they can totally make that happen, but call in advance! Sometimes, they get backed up on cars and there can be a multi-day wait period. I think things have slowed down due to the pandemic, but just don't expect to pop on by for a 30-minute service situation. I have zero complaints, though. I've been here several times to date. The first time was for a tag and title service. They were outstanding and much easier than MVA. I've also used their car repair service. Again, they did it right. The customer service is also great. The only minus I would say is their phone system. I called several times and could not get through. There should be a better way for customers to contact the service department, etc. In all I was very satisfied with my visit and repairs. I've been here before and service is pretty good. Made an appointment for an oil change for 9am. I arrived and was advised a walk in just came in before me and it would be at least 1.5 hours before my car could get in. Why is an appointment needed if a walk in can bump me. This is the closest location to my home but I had a bad experience and won't go back. I visit the one in Columbia or Glen Burnie. The guy who I had treated me like I was stupid because I was a woman. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. I was amazed at the extensive services offered: AAA; auto repairs, tire service, travel, tag and title, and insurance. They have taken advantage of my 80-year-old mom. She paid for a tune-up twice within a 6 month period at AAA. She trusted the place because she was a AAA member. Once again the car was firing incorrectly. The check engine light came on. So I finally convinced her to allow me to take the car somewhere else. I just got the call from the mechanic- I was told the inside of my mom's engine was a mess, that AAA left numerous bolts and clips lose, did not put replace a cover. "Quote, I have never seen such a hack job in my life" He took photographs of the engine so I could show AAA and possibly if need be sue them to get her money back. Do not use this shop read more

Update - Ken (from AAA-Crofton) got in touch with me, and agreed that I shouldn't have been charged for the diagnostic when AAA did not do the repair, and did an incomplete diagnosis. If anything, they chose to err on the side of caution as they weren't sure they could fully repair the vehicle and remove all the error codes being returned. The professionalism and promptness of handling this situation brings AAA-Crofton up to a 3* experience. read more

First review ever written but felt the need to expose the terrible customer service and worse communication. At best the communication is poor. At worse its just flat out lies. Over the last two week I have been told my car will be ready on a particular day to only be faced with numerous excuses. And these excuses were never presented with a proactive phone call. I'd only received these excuses after calling at the end of each day to ask. Excuses included (1) tech called out sick (but you couldn't have called and let me know this would add additional days. Consumer Beware of AAA Car Care Center in Crofton! Last year they lied to me about my vehicle needing brakes. Once evidence was reviewed by manager, they admitted that my car did not need brakes. Staff members were fired due to this. Returned today, a year later,for oil change and tire rotation. The mechanic lied about rotating tires. Once I proved that I marked the tires showing the tires were not rotated they did not charge for oil change. I have no way to prove if the oil was changed or not! I told the manager that the public should be able to rely that the mechanics are honest. I will never take my cars to this AAA location again. read more

Took my car in for an oil change. Once complete, I was informed I needed new tires and rear brakes. I declined the ~$1000 tires since I could get them at Costco for $600. I opted for the brakes. Once that was complete, I was told I needed all new wheel bearings for $2137. I declined the repair. I was told if the front right bearing was not fixed very soon, my tire could fall off. The following week I went home for Easter and took my car to my dad's trusted mechanic. I did NOT need any wheel bearings replaced! I wonder if I actually needed rear brakes! Terrible location for the auto service, I wont be going here anymore for any reason despite the fact it is 7min from my home. I was told that my car would be ready by 5pm Tuesday, I asked if pickup on Wednesday morning would be possible and was told of course, come in at 10am and it will be ready. My plan was to pickup my vehicle and then go to a job interview at 11am, figuring I'd have plenty of time. I was greeted the next morning at 10am with blank stares and told it wouldn't be ready for another couple of hours. I missed my job interview because of this lack of professionalism, which as a former tradesmen myself I can guarantee occurred because I opted to get my car the next morning and they decided to be LAZY about finishing their daily quotas (I'm a fire prevention sprinkler journeyman but am back in school to pursue a teaching career, the interview was at a school i got an offer from). That, plus overcharging, is why I'll never come back here. Nothing short of a massive discount will change my mind, I'll be telling everyone I meet to avoid this place like the plague. Amended: Like other reviewers, I was contacted by Dax and he apologized and helped mitigate the problem. However, I would still hesitate to return to this location. I gave explicit instructions DO NOT TOUCH the oil cover that is covered with tape that says 'DO NOT REMOVE' and don't touch the dipstick. But the 'manager' dismissed my concerns (him- "don't worry, we don't check the oil" me- "everyone does courtesy checks") and some genius removed the tape that says 'DO NOT REMOVE' and removed the tape on the dipstick. If they are this negligent in following basic instructions and reading simple text how can I trust them to make a repair that my life will depend on (like break replacement). And yes, I tried to talk to the manager. After paying and getting my keys I immediately checked under the hood and saw the screw up. I went inside and asked for a manager. Turns out it is the same guy who I spoke to and ignored me earlier and he was out. I was told that he would call me first thing the next morning. I am writing this the following evening. I wanted to repair my SUV to clear the check engine light so that the vehicle could pass emmisions testing. AAA Crofton qouted a few thousand$ to fix including recommended break and pad replacements. I accepted the quote with the understanding that it would repair everything. Turn around was supposed to be three days. It turned out to be six. What's much worse... near the end of the repair job, they say that the engine isn't completely fixed & it would take an additional 4-5 $K to fix. I am upset. If i would have known that the complete job would be $8 -9 K , I would not have invested the first $4k. So, I paid $thousands$ to not get my vehicle completely repaired as expected and I got my vehicle back in, what appears to me to be, worse shape than it was when i left it for repair. My SUV now shakes violently when idle; it felt fine before i dropped it off for only the check engine light. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

I had to do a tag and title for a car I purchased out of state...The Tag and Title team are AMAZING here! They made sure I knew all the documentation I would need and all the fees involved. I pulled into a parking place, called them, and they came out to my car...and on a very hot day did ALL of the leg work to get me the vanity plates I wanted. They were professional, very pleasant, and efficient...I was in and out in less than an hour...I highly recommend this team!!! read more

There is a new auto repair shop in town: AAA Crofton/Gambrills Car Care, Insurance and Travel. Before going to AAA for an oil change, (synthetic oil for my SUV), I called Mid-Atlantic for a quote. I gave them the make an model of my SUV and was told the "basic" synthetic oil change was about $68 with the tire rotation of about $29. But when I asked that he define "basic", I was told that my SUV may take more quarts. Well, I gave the the Make and Model again, which then raised the price to about $83. Well, I took my SUV to the new AAA. They did a complete service check, i.e. brakes, fluids, etc. Change my oil with 100% synthetic and rotated my tires all for $63. With the $10 coupon they gave me for getting an insurance quote, I paid $53. A very big price difference.... Too big to ignore. read more

My car broke down on the side of the road on my way to work and the AAA rep had it towed to this location. Every employee I spoke to was courteous and professional. I was told I would receive a call with the diagnosis that afternoon. At 4pm, I called to follow up after not hearing from AAA all day and was told that the wrong part was delivered and they would be keeping my car an extra day. This is something that I should have been called about; I should not have had to follow up. They asked if I would like them to change my oil, as the sticker in my windshield said I was a few weeks overdue. I appreciated their willingness to add another service for my convenience. I will absolutely use AAA Crofton again. read more

My husband and I were so excited for this business to open because we were having bad experiences with mid atlantic down the road-- Overpriced for sketchy quotes and parts that were replaced only to break again and again and again. So finally in June we took our car in to AAA because our front wheel was shaking and we smelled a burning smell when we drove. They said there was something wrong with the calipers (no idea), but had to replace breaks to be able to get to the calipers. We did the work and within two months the shaking and the smell came back. My husband quickly told them that this was what was wrong before and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was standing right there with his arms folded and very snidely said "Yeah, I'm the manager." My husband explained that he was told last time it was the calipers but the manager said it wasn't in the system that the calipers were ever done. My husband tried to explain that the shaking and the smell was exactly the same problem as last time and asked how would he remember a word like caliper unless it just happened two months earlier. Long story short they gave my husband a chance to leave and go somewhere else, but since he had already driven a half an hour to get there, and had his uncle there to pick him up to drive him back home, he felt he had no choice. Not to mention a wife and two kids who had to rearrange their schedules when another place was located so we could figure out how to manage with one car once again. Later he was offered $80, which was not even half the price. If your business is going to survive, you own your mistakes. The customer is always right...especially if your system doesn't reflect the original advice, the customers original issues, or the work that is supposed to be done vs. was actually was done. This is less a repair service and more of an impound lot. We had our car towed on Friday afternoon to their repair center and no one notified us or returned a call requesting status of our vehicle. We didn't even know if it had arrived. We left two messages with the "business" side to please contact us to let us know if they have the car and an estimate on when they might get to fixing it with no returned calls. My wife was on hold for 40 minutes with no response. She then spent over an hour to see if anyone would ever pick up from the service/repair center and no one ever did. It is now Monday at noon, no one has ever notified us as to what is going on. We did manage to have it towed to our mechanic instead. Of course AAA is now charging us the full towing fee since it was delivered to their repair station first and the free mileage is not covered. The tow company told us that AAA ran a diagnostic, but that was never conveyed to us and we have had ZERO communication with the repair department since they don't answer or return calls. We need our vehicles to get to work, so we miss a day of work with no idea if they were ever going to get to it. They take in more vehicles than they can ever hope to service, so with that type of customer service, why in the world would I trust them to fix my car? AAA puts their name on this operation and now I'm thinking twice about using AAA for anything more than a jump start. read more

(Be careful and don't pay for fake service ) I promise I paid for services that they never did for my car but they told that they did. I'm AAA member and I have been in this location for a couple times. One time I have done alignment and balance and I paid for both service but they took my money and they didn't do the tires balance as they told me and when I found my tires with nothing done I went back to them and they did it . (They thoughts I will not notice that or know about it) *Again same location AAA in Crofton for oil change and tires rotation and again I paid for both service and when I got my car I found nothing done for my tires and I asked them if they did tires rotation or no they confirmed that they rotated my tires but they didn't know about my marks on tires so I can know if they did it or know. The never did tires rotation but they told me they did. So they charge people for things which they don't do it and the people will not know. Cheaters and tricky and they do this story every time that's why I called the police and before that I got my money back and I called the AAA headquarters to let them know. read more

We took our vehicle here for a battery replacement. They replaced the battery and it works fine, but they put the battery cover on backwards and as a result the battery cover is broken. The battery cover was also not secured and was bouncing around in the engine compartment. It's not that big of a deal since it doesn't affect performance, but if they made such a simple mistake with just the battery cover, one could only imagine what mistakes would be made by more complicated jobs. I didn't notice the cover until I took the car in again for a brake job. Almost as if the vehicle had no pads, the brakes were cutting into the rotors. We brought the vehicle back to have the brakes and rotors replaced, and now the check engine light is on the very moment we started the car up (while still in the shops parking lot). Now the engine idles high and is making a whistling noise. Now, I can't say for sure that they caused the engine issue, but I'm just pointing out two facts. One, we just had a brand new engine, hoses and all, replaced at the dealership ($8000 job). Two, the engine was performing normally with no check engine light before we dropped it off for the brake job. I don't believe in coincidences. I'll be bringing the vehicle back to the dealership to have the codes checked - I suspect the issue is with the purge valve (which is brand new) - since the new engine is still under warranty. It will be interesting to hear what the dealership has to say. None the less, I will not be bringing the vehicle back to this AAA location due to the laziness and lack of concern I experienced in regards to our battery repair. read more

So I had an issue with my car where I thought I lost the wheel lock key and had to have car towed to the car center in Gambrills/Crofton to have them remove the wheel and put on the donut. I was helped by a young lady named Nell. She was super helpful-independent of this review-she gets A WHOLE FIVE STARS. She was helpful and truthful with everything. I was indecisive and was like "I want this...not I want that...no give me this instead of that". Turns out, I'm just a weakling and my tire had no wheel locks on at all! Nell was like "uh, yeah well take care of you and get you out of here-no charge". I'm grateful she was honest because she honestly could told me anything and I would've went along with it because I honestly didn't know. I walked away and didn't pay a dime. My only complaint was the attempt to upswell EVERYTHING but I understand that's what she's trained to do. She's really great and I hope you treat her well and value her contribution to your establishment. There was a young African American kid, super young who changed my tire and he was so kind and helpful and fast. I think both him and Nell deserve five stars. AAA itself gets four stars. read more
