I called the AAA office to inquire about my payment card on file and the representative that helped me was mind-blowingly rude. This is the first review I've ever done of anywhere and I've had my fair share of rude interactions just like everyone else but this took the cake. First, her answering the phone was rude but I didn't think anything of it because everyone has bad days and it happens. I told her that the wrong card was being charged for my membership and I wanted to change it. She read me the card on file and I told her that's the card it should be and asked why a different card was being charged the last two months. She then very rudely and degradingly said something along the lines of "oh if you're talking about monthly then that's auto insurance and not membership. If you would have told me the right thing and not the wrong thing from the beginning then I would have given you the correct response. But you told me the wrong thing." AND THEN SHE SNICKERED. That's the part I was blown away by was the fact that she did the most sarcastic and degrading laugh. I apologize that I didn't realize there was a difference between membership and auto insurance because I genuinely thought auto insurance was part of my membership but there were so many more ways to have informed me of that. She was vile and I don't understand how she works in customer service. read more

I have been with aaa for almost 3 years now and have had Ligia Contreras as my representative, she has always treated me and my family/friends like family. I hate this location, I wish they get a makeover in their staffing dept. Lets just say they operate by means of accusing customers of lying and the branch director here "will stallworth" is not fit for his job. His whole approach is to intimidate and threaten customers until they give in to HIS way of things and drop any complaints against his branch. I had an issue here where I was misinformed by the staff member about the benefits my AAA membership covers and this misinformation resulted in monetary damage to me for something I was not suppose to pay in the first place! when i filed a complaint after finding out the proper information from other branches and corporate, ''Will'' the branch manager/director called me and tried to cover up the facts telling me "it never happened, my staff and store is perfect, its YOU who is mistaken and are lying".. Me: YES it did take place! and your own staff are a witness to it and so is the security footage that caught the whole thing including the staff member saying later it was the wrong info they told me earlier. He tried to threaten me over a call implying he would try to cause trouble for me if I did not drop the complaint and threatened me saying "this is a recorded phone call and i need you to admit on here that this branch never did this what was in the complaint". When i told him I will not get intimidated and will keep this case open until it is resolved, he disconnected the call. I seriously warn all AAA members to stay clear of this branch, if they try to screw you over they will try to hide all evidence and lie and make YOU sound like a liar. I suggest contacting corporate immediately if an issue takes place here so THEY can come in and resolve it. Do NOT wait or report issues to their management or Will. He wont help, he will side with his staff and try to point fingers at you as well as try to erase any evidence against his branch that he can get his hands on. Im in the process now to have corporate deal with them at a higher level for what happened. Hopefully they will also reconsider the job positions they gave to such dishonest and deceiving individuals. read more

This review is specifically for one representative in this branch, Ligia Contreras, who is rude, ignorant, impatient and does not possess adequate professional knowledge to help the customers. I walked in today hoping to change my billing cycles from every 6 months to monthly, if it would not cause me a lot more. I asked her how much more it would be for the switch and she responded that she needed to talk to somebody on the phone to figure it out, which I completely understood. After she hung up, I asked again for the price difference and she said she wouldn't know because the billing had already been changed to monthly and the original quote had disappeared. I was confused because wasn't the whole point of the phone call to find out about the payment difference? Then, interestingly, after clicking the mouse for a while, she was able to find "my old bill" for the policy which would be active next month and stated that if I pay every 6 months, the quote would be $788 over 6 months and if monthly, every month I would pay $161 (that's $966 for 6 months). When I said basically that's $30 extra per month and I would not change the billing cycles anymore, she "corrected" me by saying "You're confused. You'll only be paying $35 more over 6 months' period because of the installment fees so that's ~$6 more per month." I tried to solve this middle school math problem with her but failed miserably. I'm not concerned when an agent is bad at math, however, I do have a problem when they are apparently not familiar with the billing policy and try to mislead the customers to pay more than they have to. The Larkspur branch is always well maintained, clean and appropriately staffed. I cannot speak highly enough about the CSAA agent that assisted me. His name is Wayne Black. From the time he greeted me @ the front desk to the conclusion of my transaction, I felt as if my transaction was his one and only priority. He assisted me with renewing my motorcycle policy (AFH/AMIG), verified that both mine and my elderly mothers Premier Roadside Assistance membership was current and saved me a bit of money on an annual mileage adjustment on a second vehicle. I have been with AAA for about 2 years now. George is my AAA agent and he is fabulous! I own two vehicles and both are insured through AAA. Every time I go into this location I am greeted right away and taken care of within 10-12 minutes. I love the fact that I can walk in and be able to pay my registration for both vehicles ! I recently got in a hit and run and in all honesty it was the most painless experience through AAA! I didn't have to do much at all besides take my vehicle to the body shop for an estimate. AAA also is paying for my rental and took care of everything for me in regards to that as well. I didn't have to do much at all besides make a phone call to Hertz to confirm my rental. The customer service over the phone with AAA is just as good as going into one of their branches. All reps I have dealt with over the phone are knowledgeable and efficient ! I love AAA I honestly can say for as much as I pay for my vehicles it is worth every penny for the service I received ! I definitely do not plan on going with any other insurance company. Oh, and also if you are a AAA member look into their deals for traveling and also attractions such as Great America, Disneyland and universal. I went into the Elk Grove branch to get some maps for Las Vegas. I've had CSAA Auto Insurance since 1981. There was an incentive for a trunk organizer for new auto quotes. I asked the representative if I could get a trunk organizer, since I've been a member since 1981. I was told "no." New quotes only. How about rewarding your long term customers? We have vehicle insurance and life insurance through CSAA. How hard is it to reward our years of loyalty with a trunk organizer? read more

DMV is closed a lot when I need their services at AAA in Elk Grove. They only take cash and checks when accepting payments which forced me to run to the bank and get back in line.They did not accept an ATM card. They are closed on the weekends which is when most people are off and need their services. I would cancel AAA however my wife has been a member for many years, so out of respect for her, I continue to use thier services. I will say that most of the people that I have dealt with were nice and professional. read more

My review is for Travel Services. I contacted AAA last month in hopes of getting a quote on a cruise. I booked a cruise through them last year and was very satisfied with the service, and was expecting that I'd get that excellent service again. I was wrong. I left a message on their voicemail, and received a call back the next day, right as their office was closing. I spoke with Faith (I believe that was her name) and gave her all of my information. Since the office was closing, she said that she would plug the information in to get me a quote when she got home, either by phone or email. This was a Friday night, and I told her that wouldn't be a problem since it would be after hours. She assured me it wasn't a problem and that she does a lot of business after hours. I never got a call back or an email from her. I called the office again on Monday and this time Trish answered. She took down my information and said she would either call me back later that night, or the next day. Since it was Halloween, I figured she would call the next day. Again, I did not get a call back. I had been checking rates with Carnival online, and in the time that I didn't get a call back from AAA, the rates went up. Needless to say, I was very upset and disappointed. With whatever incentives AAA offers by going through them, it's not worth it if you have to constantly call them, only to not get a return call, and then the rates are going to increase during the time that you're trying to get a quote from them. If i could give zero stars i would!!!! Ligia was the most rude and disrespectful representative i have ever encountered at AAA. This was my first visit to this location and most definitely the last. Not only did she NOT provide or even attempt to provide any assistance when asked to speak with a manager, i watched the manager throw her head back and shake her head putting her hands in air... Clearly she didnt want to help either. I guess when management doesn't care the employees aren't required to either. I was simply there asking a question on an old policy (not my existing policy) and was treated like absolute crap. People shouldnt have to give reasons and justify why they deserve good customer service or service at all in order to receive it. You shouldn't work in customer service if you do not wish to perform that duty, YOU chose your job. It is not hard to be polite and respectful but you definitely will not find any of those qualities in this location. Definitely considering a new insurance carrier after that experience!!! read more
