Best decision I ever made!!! As a AAA member I never thought to use AAA as car repair services. My car didn't start and I reached out to AAA to come and give me a jump The battery was originally bought by AAA 2 years prior. When the service technician visited me he realized the issue isn't the battery but the alternator. He told me to contact a AAA location in Gahanna for the repair. I called the location I spoke to Chris who was very knowledgeable and told me an estimate. He even recommended that I had the car towed to the location the day before so they can get right to work starting on it the next day. Making my appointment online was very easy. With my AAA membership I requested an oil change to be done on the same day that my car was being repaired. Once my car had gone through the diagnostic portion Chris called me to verify it is the alternator review the estimate and told me he will give me a call when the job is done. When the job was finally finished the estimate was the same I got a great discount using my AAA membership. Five stars excellent service excellent customer service from Chris. I would recommend this place and if I have any more car issues I will go to AAA. read more

Sept 2025 my son's fusion had a caliper bolt come out , supposedly replaced rear calipers rotors and pads . 19,000 miles later have no pads left , the rotors are extremely pitted find it hard to believe that anything was replaced other than the caliper ...maybe . I had an appointment at this location for 3:00pm 02/21/26. I get to the location and say I have an appointment for an oil change, which is currently running a promotion for a discounted oil change. The guy tells me he only had one appointment and it's not for me. I showed him the confirmation email and he proceeds to tell that I already had to be a member, which is not true. I asked him why doesn't the website or the coupon include this information he proceeded to say that I can become a member but that I would pay him $100.00 I told him that's not what offer said. Long story short I asked for his name and information for corporate. He told me that they do not have a corporate office. I went back to my car and called another location that immediately pulled my information up and scheduled another appointment. I asked if I already had to be a member and would I have to pay $100 I was told by an assistant manager that this was not true. I also found out that they do have a corporate office. I feel as though I was racially profiled at this location by the guy that claims to be the manager Kent! I would not suggest this location, especially to people of color. I have not used this place as a car repair location, not sure I ever will, but my first two visits were travel related. For major trip consultation they require an appointment and that make sense. Having an appointment will probably help. When I walked in the first thing you see is a Care Care Desk with couches nearby. A gentlemen walked in ahead of me and we waited for someone to come to the desk (about 5 minutes) There was a lady who I will call Karen for obvious reasons was sitting on one of the couches. Every time I go to a car service business and I see people sitting on couches, I assume they are waiting for their car to be done. When the guy behind the Car Car desk finished the guy in front of me, he went in the back again. After 10 minutes I was getting impatient, but staying calm when I noticed a lady sitting at one of the travel consultation tables in the back of the store. I suddenly thought, this must just be a desk for Car Care. Having been spending 10 minutes doing nothing, I started to walk back towards what I perceived was the travel section, the lady behind the desk jumped up and had a look that she was under attack! She practically screamed, "CAN I HELP YOU?" As I started to explain what I was there for I noticed she was with a customer, which I couldn't see from the front of the store. I apologized to that customer for interrupting. After a quick 5 second explanation of what I wanted, she said, again in a loud agitated tone, "WE ARE SHORT STAFFED. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT. Now I'm mad, I was nothing but patient and courteous. I'm tired of the short staffed statement as an excuse for bad or rude service. While it may have some truth, STOP MAKING EXCUSES and Just EXPLAIN! When I tried to explain that this was my first visit and I wasn't sure if there were separate lines for Car Care and Travel services, the guy behind the Care Care desk, who doesn't seem to like to spend time there, came out in a confrontational posture and tone saying, "WE ARE SHORT STAFFED, YOU NEED TO WAIT YOUR TURN." I replied to him that I had no intention to cut any lines, but I was confused as to what is expected and their are no signs. That is when Karen jumped off the couch and said, "YOU DID JUMP THE LINE" I was going to tell her I probably did, but I assumed by her casual pose, staring at her phone she was already serviced and waiting for her car. I didn't even get to finish my apology when she started into how rude I was and she was here first. I assure all readers I was nothing but polite, but they don't have any signs and while I am very patient, one thing that tests my patience is standing in line 20 minutes only to find out I was in the wrong line and then have to start over again in a new line. While I was there at my designated time to pick up my travel documents, I could see I would be waiting at least an hour so I decided to come back when they opened the next day. I also didn't want to deal with Karen. I checked their website to find out they opened at 8am on Saturday, so I came back at 8:30 am. As I walked up to the door I noticed the sign on the door said care care opens at 8am, but Travel business doesn't open till 9am. Good to know, wish they would update their website. When I did go back in Saturday there was one guy sitting on the couch right by the Care Care desk. There was a travel consultant in the back of the store sitting alone, so I walked up to her. I was non confrontational, calm, and softly spoke why I was here. Grumpy old man came out from behind the Car Care desk and stated, "You have to wait your turn, this man was here first." Again, when I mentioned that I wasn't sure if this was two separate lines, he cut me off and whined about being short staffed. I am aware of the world situation right now, but as I tried to state that it isn't clear where lines are here and if these are separate businesses or not, I got the same "We are short staffed" remark. Again, I was never anything but polite, so I started to look at the travel accessories area while the travel lady helped the customer "ahead of me". When it was my turn, she found my request and said the documents weren't ready and she would put them together. I was SILENTLY thinking, what was the point of an appointment if they aren't ready? I didn't say a word I just smiled and continued to shop while she went into the back. When she came out and handed me my travel documents, she politely, and with a smile said, " Will there be anything else" Trying to recognize that I didn't understand all their procedures, I said, " I found these items in your store, do I pay you, or pay at the Care Care desk she said, "I'm here all by myself, we are short staffed" TIRED OF HEARING IT, LISTEN AND ANSWER THE QUESTION ALEADY. Got a grease and oil change about a month ago because my service light came on. Went to this location since it was a simple task. When I left the service light came back on. Turned around and told them. They came out to the car and took them three times to turn off the light. I asked if they were sure nothing else is making this light stay on and they said no sometimes it's just hard to turn them off. So a month later I smell this burnt rubber smell. Called AAA and got the main scheduler. I told her I wanted to talk directly to the shop. After being on hold for 15 minutes I hung up. Good thing I did. Called my dealership who got me right in. They proceeded to tell me whoever did my last grease and oil change neglected to make sure my dipstick cap was securely tight. I had oil spewed all over under the hood and engine. I had to pay for another grease and oil change and have my car thoroughly cleaned under the hood costing $450.00. Sad because we used to like this place. read more

At this AAA location, i've always had great timely service. Today I got my car serviced here with the help of Chris, who was Incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and addressed all the concerns I had about my car. I previously just had work on my car at a different company auto shop that I had a really negative experience with (not once but twice), and it was really refreshing to come to AAA and experience firsthand the integrity of the shop and the people who work there. I made an online appointment for 2/21/26 to have a oil change done. AAA was offering a free oil change coupon for a limited time. I received a confirmation of my appointment and drove 30min to the AAA office Gahanna Ohio. I go in and give my name and what Im there for and guy checks computer and says he dont have an appointment for me. I show him the confirmation and he says it be 2 hour wait and people ahead of me even though i had a confirmation of my 12pm appointment. He tried to get me to leave it but i had no where to go since i came alone and drove 30 minutes. Then he tried tell me go to other AAA service center but I had already drove 30min this was not acceptable. Do not go there! Apparently appointment dont get logged in even though it is confirmed. I was very upset i wasted my time, gas and still no oil change. Never again go there even if free what a joke! No customer service at all! read more

I went there twice to renew my membership. The first time they all ignored me. No "Ill be with you in a minute", nothing. The second time I went in, the same thing. There were 3 of them in there. One woman had gotten up to get coffee. She never came back while I was there. I finally said to the other woman, "do I sign in or just stand here?" If you need tires, good place to go. I knew what I wanted so I called AAA Gahanna and they ordered them. Can into AAA office for appointment and asked if I could use 1 of the 6 desks to work and they refused. I asked if they could look at the schedule and see who wouldn't be in today and they refused. First if all I am posting an update of a poor review I left last week. Today I met with Cheree the manager in the New Albany office after she contacted me regarding my last experience in that office. I am not completely satisfied and an new AAA member thanks to Cheree making every effort to make things right. I am the guy that will send a meal back to the kitchen if it is not right but never blame the wait staff and will tip well in that scenario. I was never mean spirited and that pay off whenever someone takes note and provides excellent customer service. I have used this location a couple of times for travel-related appointments, but I don't think I'll be back. First off, it's confusing because as others have mentioned the Car Care is up front and travel is in the back, so the Car Care desk guy may or may not address you and the travel agents can't even see you waiting. If the the desk guy finds out you're there for travel and not repairs, he doesn't alert the travel folks that you're waiting. Bad system, AAA. Either separate the two services clearly, communicate better between services, or move the sales displays so the travel agents can see people waiting and help them. I would definitely try another AAA office before this one, even though it's way closer to me. On the plus side, Ms. Warren was very nice and helpful once I got to see her. read more

I don't like buying tires, especially when I just ran over a curb, blew one out and had to put the donut on in the pouring rain. But, if I go to Bob Sumerel Tires, they make it a lot more enjoyable - if that's even possible. I've purchased several tires from Sumerel over the years and have yet to be disappointed, thankfully. Can you get better pricing elsewhere? Maybe, but you may not get the service you need. The selection is good, but not great. They don't carry every type of major tire. I tried to replace a tire for my brother's car a few months ago and they couldn't match his Goodyears. But, if you're not picky, they will do their best to provide comparables. Sumerel isn't known for just their tire service. They also provide full-service auto maintenance including oil changes. So, if you need some tires, you might as well get a tuneup while you're at it. The best part about Sumerel is that they are conveniently located all over Ohio. In the meantime, do yourself a favor, avoid running into curbs. You'll thank me later. read more

I've been going here for about 3 years. Mike, the manager, is a great guy, and very honest. Two years ago I went in and he told me it was going to cost almost $1,000 to get something fixed, but he and the mechanic thought they had heard something about that part being recalled. So they pulled up the recall info on the computer (I had never received anything from the dealership), printed it out for me, and said take it to the dealership b/c they have to fix it for free. I've had a tire replaced b/c of a flat. Mike said to just get the one b/c the other rear tire was still fairly new, so there wouldn't be much difference with the treads. And we never felt any difference when driving afterwards. I've had all tires replaced on one of the cars there. Also had brakes and pads put on there. They've pulled a mouse nest out of the car air filter system. And they even do a great job with an oil change. On my most recent visit, the car battery was dead. They replaced the battery, checked over everything else on the car, did an oil change, and I was good to go. They are quick, efficient, and they do a fantastic job! read more

I dropped in here the other day to pick up my international driver's license for an upcoming trip, and was pleasantly surprised by not only the size, but the decor and layout of the interior. It's a bright and cheery red inside, with various merchandise and materials on display all throughout the inside. My whole visit only took around 30-35 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Cost was pretty reasonable at about $25 with tax (there's a discount on the service if you are a Triple A member). My only knock on the place is the back area where they take you to do the paperwork, while nicely decorated, does have multiple people working back there in almost a call center style area. There were three ladies working, and no matter how much I tried tuning out the other two, at times it was difficult and distracted me from my attendee. One thing to note, if you are bringing your own passport photos for the international driver's license, make sure that you bring two pictures or you will have to pay them to take new ones. They do need to have two identical pictures (one for the copy they give you and another that they keep on file). read more

Having moved to Columbus within the last year and needing auto service I wasn't sure where to turn, but I decided to go with Bob Sumerel because they were very close to where I live. I really lucked out, because they are fantastic! I have an old car, so it's needed service a few times since I've moved here already. Every time I have been there I've had a great experience. The other places I've taken the car they've always made me feel like they're trying to trick me into getting more work done than is necessary, and Bob's always makes me feel like I am getting a value. Every time I've been there I've had a good experience (3 times in one year, dang old car!) and I am continually impressed with their integrity and service. Last time I was there was just for an inspection, which many places would take as an opportunity to tell me something is wrong and get money for repairs, so I was surprised to find that not only did they find nothing wrong, but they didn't charge me for the inspection and the installation of the license plate holder I had asked them to mount on my car for me! I had expected my bill to be at least twice as much as it was. I'd recommend them to anyone! read more

I have had to get my windshield fixed here (through SafeLite), have had an oil change and a battery replacement and have had great and quick service all three times. The associates are nice and respectful; as a woman, I have never been made to feel stupid as I have felt at other auto shops around town. They have also gave honest suggestions and advice (they suggested I replace the battery when I went for last oil change), which I found helpful since I am not experienced with cars. I dropped in to get some maps and tour books for a California road trip. Ironically, I locked myself out of my car! The staff was very friendly - they called AAA roadside service for me and made me coffee while I waited. They also helped me find some information for my trip, including brochures that were in the back, not just out on the shelves. They were very courteous and helpful. To top it off, the AAA serviceman arrived in less than 30 minutes to unlock my car, so I wasn't really inconvenienced at all by my blunder. read more

I was frustrated with my experience here. I made an appointment, showed up on time, and waited an hour and 15 minutes for an oil change. While paying, I asked if this was a typical wait for an oil change and was told it was. He then backtracked and said that it was actually a little longer than usual, and he thought they got my car in a little late. No apology, though. So making an appointment didn't help get my car in on time, and I was told they average 45 min - 1 hr for just an oil change. The cost was also more than I was expecting from the listed prices, and they said they found additional work my car could use that would cost another $500. I've had a great experience with the AAA car care in Grandview, but I won't be going back to this one in Gahanna. read more

This was our first experience with this service garage and we were really impressed! The managers, Tim and Ray went out of their way to service our old Honda Odyssey. We took our van there to have to have an inspection on the electrical system and could not have been happier with the service! Unfortunately, my most recent visit to the Gahanna location was not a great one. I wanted to get a trip tic for our upcoming road trip. When I entered, there were several folks sitting on the couches, someone behind the counter for the car portion of the operation (on the telephone), and no one at the desk for the travel section. There were no signs telling you how to proceed, no numbers to take, so I sat down to wait my turn. When one of the travel staff was finished with a customer, she went into the back room, then returned to her desk. After a few minutes, I asked the people around me if they were waiting to get travel help. They were all waiting on vehicles, so I stood up and walked closer to the entrance to the travel area, not sure what to do. Finally an employee approached the reception desk and I asked if anyone was free to do a trip tic. She said she could do it right there, so I stood next to the desk while it was completed. When I got home and looked at the trip tic, I wasn't sure it was done right, so I decided to go to the store in Pickerington to try again. This time I was greeted right away, although there still was no one sitting at the reception desk. The trip tic I received was similar, however it did contain some additional information like scenic routes and extra material at the beginning of the trip tic. The Pickerington location also had a table out with "goodies" for customer appreciation week which I had seen advertised on the internet. In general, I am surprised at how the AAA trip tics have deteriorated. I used to rely heavily on these aids from AAA, but now they are actually getting less helpful than simply going on line and looking for directions. The page by page directions with map are no longer provided. Now there are written directions in the front and pictures of maps in the back. Some of the maps have the route clear at the top of the page so you can't make out any roads to the east of the actual route. I much prefer the time prior to this internet approach when the travel agent got out a map and discussed a route with you, marked it on the map then produced a trip tic that really was helpful.
