I originally started taking my car here because with the AAA membership discount, it's supposed to be a lot cheaper than regular auto service shops, but lately that hasn't really been the case. With oil changes routinely costing over $100, it's not really different than taking it to a dealer. But that's not my biggest issue. Yesterday (Saturday), I had a 3pm oil change, and my car was ready to go at about 3:50. The total was just shy of $110, and I attempted to use my phone for a contactless tap payment. It appeared to work fine, but then the charge didn't go through. The guy said sometimes their reader didn't work properly, and to try it again. I tried a few more times, unsuccessfully, then tried to type in the card number, but that didn't work either. I thought maybe I had mis-remembered the correct number of my card. Nothing worked. I called my bank and verified I had more than enough money for the charge, there was no hold on my card, in fact, they didn't even show the attempted transaction, just the fast food charge I had made with my phone on my way to get the oil change. They suggested I try again with a different reader, which I did at their second computer terminal. Nothing worked. I offered to leave my stuff there and run home to get my wallet with my actual card, but they said it was too close to closing time (4 minutes before 4pm), and they couldn't release the car without payment. Never mind I've been taking my cars for service there since they opened, and to other AAA shops for years before that. Never mind my two decades of AAA membership. So, while I appreciated that they called an Uber to take me home, I ended up stuck at home with no car for the entire weekend all over a measly $110 charge, because their system wasn't working properly. My $25k car held ransom all weekend for such a measly amount! And when I got home, I verified that the card number I tried to enter manually a few times was in fact the correct number. So the problem had to be their payment system! To add insult to injury, they didn't even lock up my car in a secure location, such as one of their work bays, or a secured lot. They just left it out there in the customer parking lot, accessible to any vandal or thief all weekend without the slightest protection. Believe the negative reviews! This place is an absolute racket. I've been a member for 5 years. (Not that it even matters) Rhonda the Honda got towed there Saturday morning, before they opened, and they held my car over the weekend over a cross threaded lug nut. I called Monday and they quoted me $280 for two lug nut and stud replacements. Luckily I got my car out of there to get my tire fixed somewhere else with actual reasonable prices! read more

I took my Audi in to have my A/C repaired and three and a half hours later they said I needed a whole new system at a cost of $3,400.00. Then they charged me $200 for the diagnosis. This week I took my car to a different mechanic and had the compressor changed out for $500. It's blowing 48 degree air. I'll be calling for a refund of my 'diagnosis' payment. read more

My car has been at this shop for an entire week still without the part and I'm finally having it towed to one of the many shops who said they could do it for 1/6th of the price I was quoted after being an AAA member. I've used this location twice. On a scale of 1 to 5 I rate them a three (3) The office staff is Customer friendly and display a friendly demeanor... Personally, I feel the Mechanical area is lacking when it comes to Customer Service. Perhaps they're following Front Office instructions or maybe there is just a lack of knowledge when it comes to customers satisfaction. In my opinion each paying customer is equally valuable. Had them look at a oil leak under my car. Was told it was the oil pan gasket that needed to be replaced. Had them replace it at a cost of $1100+. Got the vehicle home and still had a oil drip in the exact same place under my vehicle. Took it back and then was told it was my rear engine seal now leaking and would now cost $1500+ to repair. This was a waste of time and money and will nned to find a place I can trust. read more

This place is a racket. AAA towing will take you here by default. My son is a student at ASU and had his car towed here, not knowing to look at reviews or call around after breaking down. They fixed the issue for ~$500. 4 months later, the exact same issue came back, the car broke down on the side of the road and he had it towed there a second time. They said they'd look at it but if it was something else they'd charge me for the inspection. That's sucks but fine I get it. It ended up being a similar very issue (faulty sensor) but they state it's not exact so it's not under warranty, so I'm billed for the inspection and I chose to keep it there to get it fixed since this is the second tow and it was already here - and it was hard to manage from another state, it was another ~$500. Fast forward 2 more months, a third breakdown. This time the car was home for the summer and could not go back to AAA Tempe, so we took it to our local shop. It turns out the AAA Tempe shop used aftermarket parts and they were cheap and broke - after 2 months! So the same fix AGAIN and get this, the dealer part cost was less than what AAA Tempe charged me for the faulty aftermarket product. That is just wrong. We called AAA Tempe (Cody Davis was the service advisor) to explain the situation and all we'd done to try and remedy this, and they would not consider refunding the faulty part or the duplicative work we had to have done. They did not care at all, not even a little bit, no apology, nothing. My suggestion: Call around for a better service station, I don't think any other place could be worse than AAA Tempe in terms of quality work, honestly or integrity - they score an F. These guys flushed my transmission took my car else where because in Arizona these shops scam and it was a loose screw that u can clearly see from under the car people these days don't want to work or like to work they just come to clock in sit around joke make it seem like they are working but in a day or 2 after getting ur car fix from this spot you'll be calling them to complain about a bad job read more

Brought my vehicle to this shop for an oil change. I picked up the car and they gave me a list of things to be repaired which included the power steering of which I had no problems. The very next day I started the car and could hear a whining noise when I turned the steering wheel. Upon further inspection there were no leaks coming from the power steering so I went to AutoZone bought power steering fluid and added it to the reservoir. Noise gone, that was 6 months ago and no need to add more fluid and no whining noise when turning the steering wheel. Suffice it to say I will not be taking my vehicle to this shop again. read more

My tire blew out on the off ramp to Scottsdale road at 9am, one call to AAA and Nancy was towing my car with In 20 mins. I will never not use AAA. She made sure I was safe and calm and recommended me to a discount tire location that didn't break the bank. Had me driving again with a new tire in 30 mins. So grateful, well on to work. read more

Tired of getting scammed? Me too, which is why I will avoid this AAA even though I live .5 miles away. The manager and the employees that have "served" me are incredibly rude and down right bully's. Not only did they lie to me over the phone when I was paying for a service so that they could overcharge me by $75 regarding my member benefits but they also lied to my face about how a car starter works. I am a 28 year old female with an old car and I know a lot about my car. The way that I was told that I don't know what i'm talking about and asked "the starter is broken, why don't you understand that the car won't start" was what put me over the edge. In their written report they stated that they were able to start the car by manipulating the solenoid but when I asked them in person to show me, they acted like I was crazy for saying they should manipulate the solenoid... I'm so tired of having to recruit a male friend to accompany me to mechanics just so I can feel secure. Please skip over this shop. read more

LADIES: I believe I found an honest shop to take your car! I brought it in to have it assessed for an issue about my A/C, and was of course worried I would hear back about "all these other issues of importance that must be fixed immediately". But they called back and told me that it appeared somehow too much Freon was in my car. I laughed, made a sigh of relief and admitted that I had bought one of those canned Freons and did it myself. So, they were spot on, and I KNEW it for sure. I WILL be going back and advising others of this location when asked for a reference for a trustworthy shop. They are close, and their shuttle service was a major factor in deciding to go there. Trying to sell my car and the potential buyer wanted to have the car inspected and so we which includes myself, her, and my boyfriend were there to have a man there and grateful he was there cause the guys here wasted our time along with her money to get some off the answers and problems. We brought the car home and my boyfriend overlooked the situations they advised us all of and we're not seeing anything that shows what they listed and I say this place is a true quack. They advised there were some leaks and we found absolutely no leaks what's so ever. Leaks we're supposedly from the shock and struts and rotors are completely fine too. I really wanted this to be my go-to shop. Sadly, after just one visit, it is no longer a contender. I've been worried about my suspension for a while. I finally got a chance to take it into a repair shop. My work schedule is crazy so finding time is always a challenge; last week I took vacation so I had some flexibility. I will say the staff seemed friendly but I would not trust what they say. After spending about $900 in repairs, I realized they did not do any other inspection or safety checks that I thought was part of the basic inspection price. This means, when I left the shop my car's oil level was still at 30%, one headlight still out and God knows what else. Even if it was not included, I was not asked if I wanted it nor any question about last regular maintenance. The kicker is when I asked if it was done they said it had... clearly an untruth. This place is a complete scam! Do not ever go here they will take your hard earned money. Went here for an inspection charged me $90 for a 5 second inspection. My daughter took her car in to have her brakes checked! They called her and told her she needed rotors and pads... The estimate was $699.00 I told her we would go and pick it up and get another estimate! When I got there they had charged her $80 just for a brake inspection... I asked them about that and they said that's because she got the AAA discount, if she didn't have the AAA discount it would've been $160... I was completely taken away... I asked them if they measured the thickness of the rotors and they didn't really know for sure they said the technician would know so they went back and got a sheet of paper For the rotor chart! They just wrote down something that would be a little bit under the minimum thickness! I took the rotors had them checked for thickness and they were plenty thick and did not need to be replaced! Had the rotors resurfaced and pads replaced for $159 Less than their brake check without the AAA discount would have been... I would not recommend going to the shop for any repair work at all... read more
