I purchased Midas' One Full Synthetic Oil Change ($59.99) coupon because of the "TIRE ROTATION" they offer on their coupon (SEE PIC OF WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MIDAS) In Midas' Groupon coupon it did NOT state that they will NOT rotate the tires if they feel the tires are unsafe to do so, they don't want to be responsible if I have a blowout. Yet they removed all four tires to check my brake pads and then replaced the unsafe tires back on my truck. Are they NOW RESPONSIBLE for replacing these four unsafe tires back on my truck if I have a blowout? THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE? This is just a SCAM to try and scare me into purchasing new tires, which they tried to do, but it did not work. How can I trust what they offer if they don't stand behind their Groupon Offer? I will try to call Groupon to complain about this and try to recover some money back for services NOT render because I EXPECTED my TIRES ROTATED as per their "WHAT TO EXPECT AGREEMENT". My daughter went in for a simple oil change, they left her with a laundry list of "required" fix items.... -Rack & pinion steering, because of a torn bellows boot: $4k (rack power steering pump replaced 1 year ago). -CV axle, because of a torn bellows boot: $800 just for the PART ($225 for an OEM Ford part). -$600 for new tires, because they are "bald" (tires have 22k Mi on them and have 8/32 tread left (they have 12/32 new) -All 4 shocks bad, pictures provided showed no torn boots OR leaks. I went in a month ago, and they quoted me over 3000 for every upsell they could do: new battery, new shocks, new tires, all-new oil, air filter, and much more. I told them I'd go to the mechanic near my parents. I just got it back from him after doing a full safety check, and the only thing wrong was my fuel cap was a bit messed up. The battery is fine, the tires are good, and the shocks and struts are all fine. My tire popped on me and the rest of my tires were in complete shambles. I was supposed to go to another auto shop that day but since my tires popped I missed my appointment and the other auto shop refused to take me. I literally was scrambling trying to figure out a place to go! I called Midas and they made the process SO SIMPLE. I literally called and asked if they could take me in, and they fit me in within the hour. They replaced all my 4 tires for me within maybe about one hour. Midas is the only shop I take my vehicles to for mechanical repairs, purchase of tires, oil changes and all other maintenance requirements. DO NOT go to this store to have problems fixed. They perform and charge you for unnecessary fixes, tell you it's fixed, and will not refund you when your car continues to have the problem. The owner Nick Masilli, won't return your calls to address the situation. DO NOT go to any Midas stores for repairs, in fact, because: * This manager, Keith, insists that Midas stores cannot refund customers when they do you and your car wrong. * If you need a bigger job than Midas can do, they'll do everything else they can rationalize on your car and charge you for it before telling your there could be other more likely causes they can't address. What happened to us: My boyfriend works on cars as a profession and did what he could from my driveway for my young adult son with his first (old) car, which was overheating and leaking coolant. When the basic, simpler fixes (thermostat, sensor) didn't fix the problem I told my son to go to a shop nearby for more detailed work. Unfortunately he took it to this Midas where he told them it was overheating, was leaking coolant, and now suddenly had white smoke coming out of the exhaust on the way to their store, and also needed an oil change. The white smoke was a new symptom and a major red flag. Their inspection showed nothing significant except a need for new tires and oil but the employee, Dakota, verbally confirmed it was leaking fluid and my son trusted she had noted the problems he listed. What they recommended makes no sense based on my son's list of symptoms:  They changed his oil and all 4 tires.  My son knows nothing about cars and agreed to their recommendation. They said they tested the car and it was running well (turns out they elevated the car to test it in the air and didn't try it in the road). So he took out a high interest loan to pay for it. It overheated on his way home.  My son returned with the car the next day. Even though my boyfriend replaced the sensor and cleaned and tested the thermostat and saw it was still working, they told my son they needed to replace the thermostat, and fix some hoses, etc. WHAT THEY DIDN'T DO, which they should have done the first day, is tell my son that white smoke from the exhaust means the head gasket is blown. It's car mechanics 101. But it turns out Midas doesn't replace head gaskets so they had no incentive to even tell him that a blown head gasket was the probable cause.  This can cost as much as $3k, more than he bought the car for last summer so it was not worth putting ANY $$ into with the head gasket a likely culprit. He would have sold the car for scrap metal + parts. Maybe Midas employees and managers are just not qualified enough to know the signs of a blown head gasket, even though it's basic. The result: $1561 worth of work that did not fix the problem. Believing the manager, Keith, that they fixed his car, my son took out a 2ND LOAN with Keith's full knowledge (the high interest predator loan company paid Keith directly). The car overheated as my son drove home. Only THEN did they tell him that the problem was the head gasket. Oh, but they don't fix those. The next day his car would not even turn on. He now has no car, no money to buy another car, has a lower value of car to sell than before he spent $1561 with Midas, has debt with high interest, and that's it.  Once my son told me what happened I called and talked to the manager Keith, who denies my son told them the problems and the reasons he took the car in. Why would any car owner fail to mention these things? It doesn't even make sense. But Keith said he was standing right there listening when my son supposedly only asked for an oil change and an inspection. My son never even saw Keith till the next day. Keith is relying on the notes and inspection, and Dakota apparently did not note any of the problems my son told her about. Keith told me that even if Dakota had told him about the white smoke from the exhaust there was no way to know that indicates a head gasket problem. But the first thing Google tells you when you type "white smoke from exhaust" is it's THE sign for a blown head gasket. So Keith and his employees don't have enough car knowledge to give you adequate information so you can make informed decisions. To justify the tires and ignorance of head gasket costs outweighing the value of the car, Keith tried to convince me my son's 1997 car is not an old car (in 2023), and that with 230,000 miles it had "very low miles," and that it was a "nice car," when it's obvious when you see it is junk. He refused to refund my son. Said it can't be done. My boyfriend's shop refunds their customers when their fixes don't work or things go wrong. It is a regular and standard part of their job, a risk of business. But Keith insists Midas stores absolutely cannot issue refunds. And the owner, Nick Masilli, has never returned my calls and messages I left him. So beware of Midas, esp this one. read more

BEWARE!!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! In August, 2024, after shopping around for 2 new catalytic converters, I went with Midas on Broadway, Tempe. I was told they would install Magnaflow Direct Fit Converters with no welding for the price of $2678.19, and I agreed. My check engine light continued to appear after their installation and I brought my car back each time to Midas for them to only reset the computer codes (with no looking at car, re-diagnosing or attempting to advise why the light continues to appear). This occurred every other week for 2 months. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In October, 2024, I filed a complaint with Midas to talk with the owner or district manager with no response back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had since spoken to other mechanics who advised me that the Cats put on my car were in fact not direct fit as they welded the Cats on the downstream end and removed and welded on a new pipe (to fit the Cat they installed), nor were they Magnaflow (likely for a Toyota - I own a Ford Mustang). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Note: I was advised several times by the manager that they did in fact install Magnaflow[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In February, 2025, I finally receiving a call to my complaint to Midas from the Owner, Nick Maselli. During our conversation he clarified that they did NOT install Magnaflow Cat Converters.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, during that conversation, he agreed to refund my moneys paid to Midas, but reneged a week later. I filed with BBB with them not responding to that complaint as well. I have since had my Cat Converters replaced with the correct direct fit Magnaflow Cat Converters. However, I am still fighting to get a refund from Midas and Nick Maselli. Midas has breached a contract, committed fraud in my eyes to a lay person, and showed a lack of accountability. I have never been so fraudulently and intentionally misrepresented and scammed if you will. And I truly hope this review shows what type of business is being run at this Midas location and hope you do not have to endure such actions from this mechanic shop. I went here to get a brake light fixed. an hour later they tell me I have like 14 things wrong with my car and quoted me about $2400 to fix all of it. Included in that was $240 to fix a brake light. $40 for parts $200 for labor, like you're kidding. I went to autozone and fixed them all for $30. I have been coming to this Midas location for over a year. My vehicle is in running condition thanks to the guys at this shop! Always great service whether you are dropping your car off or waiting while it's worked on. They are honest, upfront, and reasonably priced. I love the transparency between the techs and the gentlemen up front. The giant glass window allows for a great view to watch your vehicle so there are no surprises. Picked my car up at 1:30, after receiving several text messages to apply for financing. Called the location and the person who answered the phone needed to speak with the manager before she could answer my questions, wanted my phone number to call me back. It's in my profile. Asked where it was written that they had to do an inspection with the oil change. They could not offer any written documentation where the inspection was required. Do not go to this Midas!!!! I have had a few terrible experiences here. I was told over the phone that my battery warranty was 5 years so I would only have to pay for the labor charges which was $45. I go into the shop and they tell me that I now have to pay $249 for the battery because my warranty was actually 3 years. I was given false information over the phone, and the excuse from the manager, Andrew, was that they have new people that didn't know what they were talking about!!!! Went in for a conventional oil change, was told it'd be between 90-120 minutes. No problem, left and came back when it was ready. Paid and drove off only to have my car literally stall and die in the middle of the road a couple minutes after. Never had any issues with that before. Had to get help pushing it into a nearby parking lot and called them explaining the issue, only to have to manager say "You only got an oil change and filter change, there's no way we could have done anything wrong". Car refused to move despite efforts to jump. I called my mechanic friend who told me that they left the hose that allows air flow to the engine completely off. Amateur mistake and wasted my time and money trying to get my car back to the store to fix something that shouldn't have been a problem, and was told I was wrong when I called about it!! I originally only came to this MIDAS because of a coupon for an oil change and it took as right down the road from my house, but they continue to impress me. As a female, there is a constant fear of being taken advantage of with vehicle repairs, but I can honestly say that has never been the case here. They text you images of the things that are in-question and have been very quick both times I've taken my car in. I'm about to takeoff out of town for work and noticed that my trailer weight distribution hitch was loose as hell, so I drove around the neighborhood and stopped at three or four places got no luck getting someone to want to look at it.. well, one of the four places said yes they could tighten it up but they wanted to charge me their normal rate of $200 an hour.. I told them they were crazy. I understand they need to make money and I offered them 25 bucks since it would only take about four seconds.. they didn't want to do that. So, just before I got back to my house, I was driving by Midas and I saw the doors open and I thought, what the hell, I'll try one more place. I walked in and explained to the person at the front counter what I needed help with and then someone came from the back office, I'm assuming a manager. He must have overheard me telling the first guy what I needed done and he said he let's go out and take a look at it.. after inspecting the hitch he ran inside, grabbed a drill, and some sockets and brought them out. Tightened everything up nice and neat. Took him about 10 seconds.. I asked him how much he wanted for that, (expecting him to say maybe $30-$40), he said don't worry about it, whenever you need tires or service done on your truck, bring it on by. I couldn't believe it! In my opinion, this guy is manager of the year for public relations! I have gone to Midas this store in particular for a while now and had countless things done only for countless things to continue to go wrong? Funny how that happens right Midas? Most recently they replaced a mount - I dropped my car off first in line yet after 8 hours of waiting never received a call for pick up... so I called not once but twice to be told it was almost done and they would follow up. Eventually knowing they close at 6pm I personally got a ride to the store at 5:45pm to ask about my car. Only to pull up and find it finished and sitting in the back for who knows how long? 10 hours at the shop for one mount? It was suppose to be three new mounts but somehow only one was actually replaced. On top of the ridiculous waiting time this last trip they took off my under car plate and never replaced it afterwards. I found this out when something to lodge up from under my car since nothing covered the entire bottom front side. Be wary here. First, an appointment means nothing. Made an appointment and still waited almost 2 hours. They inspected my car and provided me a list of "recommended" services. When I told them I didn't have the time or money to do it today, the manager magically and suddenly reduced the cost of the services a substantial amount if I did the work today. I said no again and was told the cost for the oil change was $76. I asked why so much when the advertised special was $39. He lowered the price to $39 and said it should be more but that he was "giving" it me for the lower amount. Very shady all the way around read more
