The treatment room had a lot of light and that is only downside for me. I like it dark in the room if possible. I recommend getting a 90 minute massage so they can focus on issues and give you a full body massage too. The location is great near lots of shops and restaurants if you want to make a day of it.

I recently pinched a nerve when I fell and was in excruciating pain. It was affecting my mobility. I saw a chiropractor twice before seeing her and after one visit with her and I cancelled my next appointment with the chiropractor. She is so soothing, and informative, in addition to making me feel so much better! She is very knowledgeable, comfortable and easy to work with. Her 'office' is in her gorgeous back yard and is so well appointed you would think you were at a resort! I am looking forward to my next appointment and feeling even better! Aaby does an amazing massage. She specializes in "therapeutic" massage, so she really gets all the kinks out. She told me that my shoulders, glutes, and neck muscles were all insanely tight, and I could really feel that when she worked those muscles out! It definitely hurt at times, but she is very good about keeping communication open and making sure you're at no more than a 5 or 6 on the pain scale. She practices in a beautiful indoor space in her backyard with a wood-burning fire and an amazing koi pond nearby. The whole experience was very relaxing and I felt like a new man afterwards. Aaby's Massage Intentions is absolutely wonderful. I enjoy a soft touch massage, while my girlfriend prefers a deep tissue massage, getting tough knots to loosen up, Candie works her into a puddle of happiness. Candies soft touch is so relaxing, its a challenge to stay awake, but its something I would rather not sleep through. Candie is the first choice for both of us and we look forward to anytime we get to spend on her table. Aaby's Massage Intentions never disappoints! The service is amazing. Candie is incredibly knowledgeable about how the human body functions and explains what she is doing as she is working through the knots and relaxing your sore muscles. I have sought care for multiple issues from chronic back pain to painful feet (diagnosed by a podiatrist as plantar fasciiatis) and have received not only excellent care and pain relief, but also the education to help myself continue to heal between massages. When i went to see Candie i was in some of the worst pain ive ever experienced and i have a formidable pain tolerance. So when i couldnt , sit, stand, sleep, eat, or much of anything without nearly dropping to the floor in pain. Not only did Candie help to relieve the pain to a near normal level, she also purposely keeps appointments open for late emergency cases and Weekends! When this week it finally became too painful to put off doing anything, I decided to pore through yelp for an affordable and effective massage therapist who might be able to help and who had availability soon. I was happy to find Laura. When I contacted Laura to make an appointment, I'd erroneously read that she had an available time slot yesterday and called to make an appointment. Even after I'd realized my error, Laura offered to fit me in to her afternoon schedule. Laura warmly welcomed me to her studio and took considerable time before the actual massage to learn about my current condition, particular areas of concern, and to allow me to ask questions. It was clear from her questions that she is well-informed about the kind of conditions she treats and what might cause them. Her attentiveness did not wane during the actual massage. While I was able to largely zone out during the massage, I could perceive Laura's attentiveness to trouble spots. I appreciated her methodical approach and her ability to read my body closely. She used a significant, but welcome, amount of pressure, yet not without checking to be sure it wasn't too much. It's clear that Laura cares about her clients' well-being beyond the massage table. Her studio was pleasant, quiet despite the busy street outside, easy to find and warm. Meanwhile, her rates were more than reasonable for the level of professionalism and care she took with the massage. I was also pleased that after the massage, Laura took additional time to show me some stretches I could do at home to alleviate the pain I've been experiencing. I welcomed her willingness to suggest ways to prevent or correct problems in the first place. Best of all, I went home with the pain I'd been experiencing greatly diminished. Since my appointment yesterday, I've been able to walk around with much greater ease and sit down to work without the same discomfort I've been experiencing for months. I'd happily recommend Laura to anyone in Portland looking for a massage, whether to treat a specific condition or for general well-being.
