I had a wonderful experience at blue star. I thought I might end up regretting booking a night soak in the middle of winter, but I loved it! They're very Covid-conscious and the spa is outdoors and completely private. They put out robes and candles for us and it was just the most gorgeous date! The rain pattering on the roof just added to the ambience. We brought sparkling cider and snacks to enjoy on the side. I thought two hours might be too much, but it turned out to be the perfect amount of time for us. Pro tip: get the CBD oil when you go; I haven't slept that well in forever. This hidden little gem is amazing. The spa room with claw foot tubs, outdoor shower under the tree, it's all so lovely. Great host, has whatever you need and encourages you to bring whatever else you may want. The bath combination that I chose was Epsom salts with creamy oats that felt like bathing in creamy chia tea, in a good way! What a nice way to step out and feel like you are in vacation. He used pressure expertly, using firmness to effectively relax tightness, and lighter pressure when appropriate. His space is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Blissful. I had a 2.5 hour massage followed by a 1 hour soak in the salt tub. Right from the start, I felt relaxed. The massage was relaxing, rejuvenating and peaceful. What a wonderful experience, from booking to my visit. I booked through his online service and was given frequent reminders of my upcoming appointment, which I thought was a great service, as I am pretty forgetful. Jesse's studio is a bit out of the way, so I was initially a bit dismayed, however, the experience once walking through his doors was exceptional. Jesse has a very calming, mindful personality. He spent about 7-8 minutes discussing my prior history with massage and overall health. I am not someone who enjoys a lot of deep tissue work and he was very receptive to meeting my needs, regardless. His studio is quaint, personable and very comfortable. His table was very comfortable and his linens were just the right side of warm. He was very quiet and peaceful during the massage, stopping only to ask if certain techniques were painful for me. I left feeling much better than when I left. I experienced some mild soreness the day after, but after some stretching found the soreness subsiding. I would highly recommend Blue Star/Jesse. Jesse's place is amazing! There is an amazing soaking area with two tubs (two people) in a relaxing setting. Usually these are for massage clients, but for the time being they are available for rental for a soak without massage. It's a great place to spend a relaxing evening with a friend (or alone), especially when the weather isn't great for socializing outdoors. For me, this was exactly what I was looking for! I am all about firm pressure when it comes to massage. That is why it is so hard to find a good therapist. Jesse delivered! I found Jesse randomly, and am so glad I did. I have been going to Massage Envy for the past decade, and although I am a huge fan of theirs, Jesse delivered in a way that was different. From the moment I stepped into the living room, to physically leaving the house, I felt relaxed. When you start, he asks you questions about your health and what you need out of the massage. The time doesn't start until you are physically on the table, which is really nice. The studio is very calm, and the physical space smells nice. This was a GREAT experience! I was truly impressed by Blue Star Wellness and Jesse's professionalism. I walk in and immediately was greeted. Upon settling I was offered any flavor of numerous teas. The atmosphere was very relaxing and I felt so warm and cozy. I then after wonderful relaxed conversation with Jesse, went into the massage room. The room is fantastic, decorated with different odds and ends to make the room much more relaxing with the massage table sheets that felt luxurious! The best massage sheets in all of my massage receiving experience. I was given an option to shower before and after and the shower was incredulously detailed. The shower felt like the massage continued because of the amount of water and how hot the water could get. The next couple of days, I had never felt the way I felt in years. My first massage with Jesse was 90 minutes and half-way through I wished I had booked a longer session. My second was a 2 hour visit which indeed was what I needed. Suffering from arthritis throughout my body, there are several areas which give me continual pain and stiffness. Jesse was able to approach each of them and through is excellent technique he was able to ease the pain and correct the flow of energy our bodies need to be ambulatory.
