Remember, I'm giving four stars. If atmosphere matters to you, or you want to believe there's a super clean kitchen with lots of hand washing...this place is not for you. The interior looks like a post-apocalyptic Woolworth. Get over it. The food is fantastic and the people are very very friendly. The service is homely and not standard restaurant style. The décor is almost non-existent in the main dine-in area. The banquet hall was busy with a program so can't comment on that. But the food is of outstanding quality. We ordered Andhra Kara Dosa. This would be favorite of folks who love pure chili heat. Aachi's has a wide variety of North & South Indian cuisine and vegetarian & meat options. There's even fried rice and noodles which we didn't order because we wanted to try everything else. - Chicken 65: So amazingly good!!! Definitely has a spice kick to it so I had some yogurt and water at the ready. - Masala dosa: The dosa is huge!! They give you sambar and two different chutneys to dip the dosa in - my favorite by far was the coconut chutney which I asked for extra because it was so tasty! I probably would not get this again though just because the potato stuffing had a strong ginger taste. - Gobi 65: The vegetarian version of chicken 65 but with cauliflower. We also got the chicken 65 which was super crispy and flavorful. They have excellent dosa as well. I got the onion rava masala dosa which is one of the best dosas I have tried. They have a lot of varieties to choose from (bakery items, indian street eats etc). I had to go order for Thalapakattu chicken biryani, never heard it before but trusted the reviews and went for it. I must admit it is delicious and would def recommend. It is different compared to your regular biryani. I have also tried their regular chicken biryani which isn't the best in the area but not terrible either. The chicken pieces that come with biryani are well marinated and have masala to them. :) Overall my experience was good. read more

Butter chicken: this is my favorite here since it is the most flavorful of the 4 dishes tried. Chicken tikka masala: good and hearty, would get again. Chicken 65: take home version is not as good since it's not as crispy and fresh. It's still decent though and I would recommend it eating at the restaurant. Palak paneer: bland compared to the others. May need to eat this first before eating the stronger curries. Garlic naan: even as take out it was still good. Cannot go wrong with flat, thin, buttery naan. I love that the menu is so plentiful and organizes dishes according to vegetarian or non vegetarian, and regions of India. I look forward to trying this place again. On Fridays through Sundays, they have thalis (instead of buffets) for sale. The atmosphere is humble. The parking spaces are plentiful. Really good authentic South Indian food. Surely more options for the meat eaters! We ve had the thali numerous times and it doesn't fail to impress! The portion is huge. Their thallapakatu biryani is probably the best in the area. They have non traditional dishes like chicken chukka and it tastes pretty good. My wife had the gongura lamb and she loved it. This is not the place to order butter chicken and garlic naan. Do your research! Don't come in expecting a great ambience though. It is a casual place. Only reasons for 4 stars is few dishes in the thali have been a hit and a miss. Definetly worth a visit! read more

Aachi's mostly caters to a large take-out base of followers. But we found the dine-in enjoyable and very tasty. We had a delicious Vegetable Samosa with spicy mint sauce and tamarind chutney and a tasty spicy Chicken 65 (spicy tandori-like chicken) as appetizers. They mango lassi was good. We had the tasty Bagara Baigan (spicy eggplant curry dish) and a really good Chicken Tikka Masala tasted buttery and a touch smokey (both served with fluffy rice). The Garlic Naan was garlicky good, warm and soft. We also bought a slice of mango cake and chocolate cake (both more European-style) moist and tasty. The food was excellent. But cleanliness was lacking. The kitchen workers weren't clean, the kitchen was messy, and the seating area needs a good cleaning. What shocked me was the large piece of plastic wrap I pulled out of my mouth. Something was way too chewy. It was a long piece of plastic wrap (see photo). I showed the staff and asked them to check to see if it came from the kitchen. (I knew it did, but wanted him to confirm) He didn't come back to tell me so I asked again at checkout counter - he said it was the plastic wrap they use on the chicken. So, not only was I served a large piece of plastic but it had been in contact with raw chicken. When we finished I thought they would probably comp the meal (or at least my dish). They didn't. In fact, he tried to up sell me on desserts. Such a shame too, the meals tasted great but beware what else may be in your food. Apparently Aachi read my review and has made an attempt to make amends, maybe? A $1.41 refund showed up on my card this morning. No idea how they decided on such an odd, and small, amount read more

Aachi's is a new Indian restaurant in the Johns Creek area. It's tucked behind the Shell gas station at the corner if Jones Bridge and Abbots Bridge. Their food is very good with the perfect amount of spice. Those craving something spicy with a South Indian touch, definitely check out Aachi's! Updating my review on 1/8/17. Just had the Grand Sunday Lunch Buffet! They had many of the traditional South Indian staples including Aatu Kaal Soup (Goat's Feet Soup), Crab Curry and Ghee Roasted Chicken. Today we went for lunch here around 11:30AM. This place looked deserted! This place is more like a cafeteria- you order at the counter, pick up the drink from the fridge and wait for the food. We ordered mutton biryani, fish curry and goat curry. The curries come with basmati rice and the biryani comes with raita. The briyani was cooked with right amount of spice and was very good. The raita goes well with the biryani. The fish curry was our favorite. It was very flavorful and the fish so delicious. The best fish curry I tasted in recent times. The goat curry was also flavorful and mild. It had a bit of sweetness to it! Overall the service was good, food was excellent and price was moderate. we really had a great lunch. read more

Did not find anything wow about this place. Standard spicy South Indian style food. Service was good and food came fast. The paneer 65 was saucy and did not look or taste anything like 65. The Apollo fish was good but very spicy and also covered in a sauce. The shrimp curry was disappointing with only 5 or so shrimps and mostly all gravy. The green chicken was mint chutney with chicken pieces. The naan and rice was good. Overall nothing differentiating than other places. Very average. read more

I will keep this short. I am from out of town and visiting family in Greater Atlanta area. We were the only table when we went in. Ordered Quite a lot of food 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, parottas and paneer Biryani. Except for parotta nothing was even close to been decent. What was disappointing was nobody bothered to come and clean the table either. Btw, this is a self-serve restaurant - meaning go get your own glass, water, plates, napkins, knives and forks. Kids got cupcakes after dinner and they were so hard. Two of the kids complained of stomach pain after returning home. I am not familiar with quality of restaurants in this neighborhood but this place was subpar. This restaurant wouldn't stand a chance of survival if they served similar food from where I come. I highly recommend finding an other cuisine or restaurant instead for your next meal. read more

This review is for food we ordered on DoorDash, not for service or ambiance of the place. We've found our new favourite takeaway place! We have ordered from them 6+ times by now, and none of them disappoint. As a matter of fact, even when there was a slight error in our order, it was fixed at lightning speed and BY FAR exceeded our highest expectations! The variety of food on the menu is quite impressive, without being overwhelming - menu is well structured and categorized, so you can find what you want quickly. Great combo of cuisines from north and south, veg and non-veg. We had a couple of curries, curd rice, and an order of vadai. Everything was rather excellent when it arrived. Spice level was right, there was not a layer of oil on top of the curries (most Indian restaurants here have an insane amount of oil and grease). Food was flavourful, not too much colouring. It was packaged well (no utensils or napkins though). Overall, great experience, will definitely keep ordering from them again, and go through the whole menu! read more
