AL an Aamco transmission technician tampering with my dash cam unplugging it from connector side and AV input inside my armrest, while trying to also dismantle. Makes me wonder if he tried to steal anything out of my car. Jeff, the service advisor was great, but this is a very scammy and unsure service. Seems as if they cant give straight forward responses. When Jeff asked the tech he responded it was obstruction of view but never took down the camera, only the wires were tampered with. So I went in with high hopes--the owner was very friendly but extremely unprofessional and was cursing up a storm. He told me we should bring our work vehicles to his shop because they "fix things right the first time" not like other shops. That is exactly what DIDNT happen with our work vehicle... First of all we had to leave our vehicle there for about 3 days for them to get to it although we had an appointment--we kept calling to check in on the status and they said they would call us back but never did...and they claimed our AC issue was just a small problem and nothing major and they fixed it as well as fixing our transmission. The next day our AC stopped working yet again and was never fixed correctly the first time--we took it to another shop and they said the entire system had to be replaced. I had my car diagnosed and was told it needed a new transmission. Diagnostic and putting back parts took over 3 weeks and every time I called, "M" or consultant was busy. There were other customers. Wasn't I a paying customer? I was also told mechanics cannot be rushed. For close to a month? At 1,100++ diagnostic fee, I cannot be attended to? On top of that, I wasn't given a description of diagnostic, was promised one, and ended up arguing with "M" and owner because there was no description of service. If you are a woman like me and who knows if being not "white" counts, take my advice - get things in black and white. If Maaco or other similar establishments can do it and at a faster pacing, so should they. By the way, my transmission repair quote was at 6K approximate and a new one, a couple thousands more. So much for trying to save when Nissan itself charges almost the same amount. read more

AAMCO replaced my CVT transmission of my 2012 Nissan Versa in 2017. They did an excellent job. However, I have lost the receipt which I now need for a Nissan lawsuit about a a faulty transmission. They told me my financing was for 24 months. Equal payments would pay off loan in 24 months. This was not true. It was 12 month and i got hit with all deferred interest. Dont let them deceive you. Make sure to read fine print cause they are not trustworthy people. read more

Recently I had issues with my 2017 Dodge Durango citadel where as my radiator was giving me issues amongst other things. I had the option to bring it to the Dodge dealer but opted to try AAMCO in White plains when I realized they are known for more than just transmission repair. From the time I dropped off the keys and throughout the whole ordeal...Jeff the owner was up front and transparent about what the issue(s) were and made suggestions of which made sense by being proactive addressing issues i had no idea about. I wish I could give Jeff 10 stars! He saved my Mini Cooper. A few months ago I hit an object with spikes on the 287 fwy and it completely damaged my transmission pan. I had the car towed to Mini Westchester and they replaced the transmission pan; however, my car was not fully repaired and was driving as if it was in the wrong gear. Mini Westchester said they took it on a 10 mile drive and found nothing else wrong. I took the car back to Mini Westchester days later; they said I needed a new transmission. I was in complete shock and also confused. Jeff was highly recommended through neighboring shops in the area. My mini was towed to Jeff's shop Aamco and he knew what the problem was right away. My valve body was replaced without a question. I'm from San Diego, California and did not know who to trust and luckly I was in great hands. My mini drives like a new car!!!! We contacted AAMCO after our car failed inspection and the inspection station quoted us $3,100 to rebuild the transmission. They guaranteed they would be a more affordable option and based upon that we brought them our car. A day and a half later they called us and told us that they could not diagnose our problem and wanted to charge us $850 to open up the transmission to diagnose it. Then two days later they called us back telling us they had to rebuild the transmission for $3,500 ($400 more than the quote they promised to beat). Due to the timing and expired inspection we reluctantly agreed. Then to add insult to injury, our entire drivers side of the car interior is smeared with engine grease - keys, door handle, visor, door surround. Don't trust them to do the right thing and don't trust them to treat your car with respect. read more

You definitely will get a fair shake from Jeff, the owner at this Aamco. I brought my wife's car in with an odd noise that I thought was from the transmission. I quickly learned that they actually do more than transmissions these days (I was remember their old TV ads from when I was a kid, back when they only did transmissions). Anyhow, Jeff had the car for a day, listened to the motor under a variety of conditions on the road and determined that the noise we were hearing was likely from early stage wear and tear on the differential - something that didn't really require an expensive repair just yet, especially considering that the car was 13 years old. He felt it could go a few more years before becoming a serious problem, by which time we'll probably be driving a different car. The grand total for Jeff's services was a whopping ZERO dollars! My wife was thrilled to hear that the car was still road-worthy and wouldn't be likely to break down on her, especially at that price. I plan to return with my car, if I should happen to need any work done. BTW: he's conveniently located within walking distance of an Enterprise Rent-A-Car, in case you need a loaner while you wait! read more

Had a great experience with Jeff at Aamco White Plains. Before going to Jeff I endured 6 weeks of general incompetence at a local garage; then transmission shop; then dealership. My car wouldn't start- the garage told me I had a bum immobilizer and recommended a relay around it. Newly hotwired, the car started, but had new transmission issues. Subsequently, the transmission shop and dealer told me I needed to rebuild/replace the transmission. Then I went to Aamco in White Plains, and they explained the car not starting and the new transmission problem were related- a faulty neutral safety switch. I would give them more stars if I could. My Jeep broke down and it was towed to the dealer, the dealer diagnosed it and said I needed a new transmission. Since the car is 10 years old, and not even worth the exorbitant cost of the repair quote, I called Jeff at AAMCO for a second opinion. How do you stay in business with such a poor attitude? I called on Friday August 3rd, 2018 to see if some welding and tune up could be done on one of my delivery vans. I was told that they do not do welding but to bring it in on Monday August 6th so that they could take a look. I walked in and a young man addressed me and told me who to go talk to and I think this was the young man on the phone on Friday. That being said I go into the owners office and from the start I get a look like he just smelt fart or something. I told him about the exhaust weld and tune up and before I could finish he jumps in and says "we don't do welding here". I then asked about the tune up and he said "Yes we do that". It is now 5:00 pm and I tell him one of my workers is coming by with the van and I get "Well do you know when he is coming because we close soon". Once he said that I knew he was a terrible business man as I own my business and if there was a potential sale standing in front of me I would do my best to make him/her feel comfortable. I told him my guy would be by in 10 minutes and he was like "OK" ok what can I leave my car here or not. So I walked out with him assuming my guy would be by with the van, but I told my guy to forget it and we would go elsewhere as I do not want to give my hard earned money to somebody who wouldn't be appreciative. Very immature as a business owner and further proves my point. I could have said so much more but I didn't because I felt that was enough to get my point across but...since you decided to throw salt on my wound I'll be more than happy to tell more. So Jeff and I were having a conversation at the shop about repair shops and how he is so great when he says..." Ya know, some of these other shops will Nigger Rig your truck". At this point he realized he said something you probably shouldn't to someone of color but I laughed it off. I should have took that as a sign. A sure sign of unprofessionalism among OTHER things. If I could give Jeff and his shop six stars I would. When your car breaks down and you have it towed to a mechanic, you can't end up being luckier than I was. Unless, that is, you have it towed to Jeff and his crew at AAMCO of White Plains. Not being from the area, and having to get back on the road to leave town, I was at first dreading the possibility of a prolonged stay as my car sat in a mechanic's shop. Recognizing my situation, Jeff sprang to the rescue. My car was in the shop within minutes, diagnosed within an hour, and repaired and back on the road within the day. My car went from being on the brink of death to the road. As if that would have been enough, Jeff and his team were also incredibly kind. They gave me honest appraisals of what was wrong and worth or not worth doing--a rarity in a business generally more concerned with making money than keeping customers. You would be hard pressed to find an auto shop that cares more about its customers. I will make sure everyone I know in the West Chester knows about this unassuming shop. Jeff at Aamco completely took care of us. My daughter's Jeep was having transmission problems and someone in the car business recommended Jeff. We took it in, Jeff spent time speaking with my daughter to get an idea of the problem. Over the next few days, Jeff diagnosed the problem, called the Jeep dealership to figure out if the repair would be covered by the factory warranty if I brought it to them instead of Aamco (it would), then called me and recommended I take it to the dealership. Of course, he said he'd be happy to do the repairs himself, but... Transmission problems are not something to mess around with, so I was lucky to find such an honest business person. If I could leave 0 stars I would. JEFF is a scam artist. I am disgusted to say the least. He SOLD ME AN EIGHT YEAR OLD USED CAR UNDER FALSE PRETENSES. The car needed new airbags due to a recall so I had to take it to it's manufacturer which was fine. Jeff said he had fixed a leak in the car before we purchased it. I've ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A MONTH AND TWO WEEKS . The temp gauge light started lighting red & eventually the check engine light came on. I brought the car to it's manufacturer to figure out the problem as well as install new airbags, & I got a phone call with an extensive list of problems the car had. The SEVEN different issues the manufacturer listed to me on the phone ended up totaling to $3100 in total. That's MORE THAN HALF of what I paid for the car. Let me explain: a towing company towed my front wheel drive car on its front wheels resulting in a blown transmission, the worst the independent appraiser had ever seen. The road side assistance company my car insurance company used gave me the run around for over a month; meanwhile I was without a car for that entire time. Jeff guided me through how to put pressure on the road side assistance company to get them to move faster. His team did a terrific job of installing a refurbished transmission. read more
