Dr Ton and her staff are amazing. At first, I was skeptical to try a new dentist after having the same over 40 years unfortunately he decided to retire and I had to choose a new dentist. Last year I chose the new dentist in Irvine and unfortunately, I did not seem to welcomed or pleased with that office. They had a lot of billing issues and very disorganized . When I went to go see Dr. Ton she discovered the previous dentist had done a lot of things the wrong way and she immediately addressed it and started the proper restoration. She has been extremely professional the entire time and is very thorough and explaining every single step in the restoration process. Dr. Ton is very patient compassionate and thorough. I had hoped I wouldnt feel the need to write this review, because almost everyone at this office and Fullerton office are nice. Unfortunately, nice isnt enough. Last March or April I was told I needed an implant bridge, and now nearly 1 yr later, It's still not done. Not sure what happened but it appeared they had a whole new team here. Dr. Tom, a lady, is now the dentist in-charge. Bernice is the office manager at the front desk. The dental assistant is a novice, judging by the number of retakes for the x-Ray. I arrived at the appointed time. The new patient paperwork took 20 minutes. I waited 20 minutes in the dentist chair before the dental assistant showed up. The dental x-rays took another 30 minutes. I was glad I did not have any appointment in the afternoon or I would have to reschedule. At the end of examination I was told there are several issues that require attention. A few old fillings are cracked/damaged/infected. Instead of cleaning every 6 months, I should get my teeth cleaned every 3 months. So either my previous dentists didn't do their job or my teeth deteriorated significantly in the last 6 months. I opted to have a second opinion before taking any action. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I've had my Physician and Surgeon license for the Medical Board of California for 12 years so I've seen what makes a good doctor. The lack of effort and care this office has for their patients is unbelievable. Possibly the worst front desk lady I have ever come across in my life. She constantly tries to upsell you like this is a business instead of caring about you as a person. She will lie to you just to make your procedure more expensive. If you are getting any work done, do not trust the General Anesthesia Dentist. They will not do what you asked them to do instead take the shorter faster route so they can get done with your useless procedure and continue scrolling on TikTok until they have to deal with another patient they simply have no care for. Where do I start, First time there, hoping that they accept my insurance as my reliable dentist that I was going to, just stopped accepting my insurance. So I just want a simple cleaning, I'm not having any problems whatsoever. But.... did they listen to me? No. They immediately wanted to have me do a deep cleaning and they were going to take my blood pressure and so on. This is not what I asked for, they pushed forward. "Your blood pressure is too high." "No way. " "We can't do any work on you." I leave, I go and check with my Doctor. "Sure it's a little elevated, but overall, you're fine." Make another appointment, show up, and their toilet had exploded or something and the plumber did a half-ass job and the place stank. Get back in the chair. We still want to do the deep cleaning... How much? The office manager goes and checks, but during that time they are trying to take my blood pressure again and doing it wrong, telling me I can lay down, the cuff it too high, the velcro is twisted. Then the office manager pops back in and tells me it's going to be $400. No. They they start trying to sell me on crowns and other stuff. I thought, am I in a used car lot, they're trying to sell add ons? No. I'm out. Don't even think about charging me either. If I want, I can decline your blood pressure test. Just like how I'm going to decline ever using this dentist. You'd be better off doing your own teeth cleaning at home than to trust these people. read more

I think i previously wrote a review about this place being decent or good but i want to re write this because my last visit was disgusting. They use the same pair of gloves to touch everything. They were in my mouth putting the X-ray pieces in and then touching the computer mouse, and the X-ray machine and then coming back to adjust the X-ray piece again. Aside from being disgusting, they also couldnt do my cleaning correct, and i was in so much pain . I still dont understand why it hurt so bad this ONE time, or why my guns were bleeding . Theyve never bled this bad from a regular cleaning. Aside from my problems, theyre also charging my parents $$ for the regular cleanings when theyre supposed to be free with insurance. I had once a crown installed by Aava Dental in their Fullerton Office and I can tell that it was a great job, so, I decided to give another shot and chosen at this time Foothill Ranch office due to easier commute. Everyone from the front-desk to the Doctors is super friendly, the office is super clean and if you're looking for deep cleaning, ask for Miguel - I never had such a detailed and deep cleaning as he performed - He did magic. This was the worse customer experience! I made an appointment and had to wait an hour for a basic cleaning. They spent an hour taking x-rays which I can understand but attempted to up-sell me from teeth bleaching to hand massages during 1st my visit. Finally, I couldn't wait any longer and had to leave to get back to work and office manager advised me come back for cleaning. On my next visit, she told me my out of pocket fees which was the opposite of what she told me a week earlier. I ended up walking out of the office due to poor customer service and sadly, a big dental chain trying to make money off the little guys! Thanks for wasting 2 days! They closed down their foothill ranch location and moved here. My husbands insurance covers this place 100%, so I decided to give this new location a chance after 5 years of initially going to aava dental and having a horrible experience. Due to only needing a cleaning I figured I'd give them another chance. I was wrong, the teeth polish was horrible, X-rays took 45min since they were training and telling each other how they've never done this and how they should do it, while hurting my mouth and having to retake X-rays multiple times (not comforting or efficient at all). Then the dentist comes in and brutally picks at my teeth and tells me I have 6 cavities and need to have root canal totaling to $3k worth of work. I leave there in shock and decide to go to my normal dentist (LN DENTAL) and they checked for these six cavalries and root canal that I 'needed' and my LN DENTAL dentist found only a small cavity that with floss would go away. Ugh these people at aava dental just want to overbill the insurance and lie about cavities and root canals. Not cool. Beware!! Do not go here read more

I went to Aava dental thinking they were in network and kept getting larger estimates than anticipated only to find out the billing dentist was out of network- why wasn't I told? And I paid for a Porcelain crown and was told it was a 5 year warranty, when it cracked three years into it they said sorry what we meant was your insurance only covers once every 5 years. I'm told Extractions are done monthly. And in only two locations "far" and "further" away from my Fullerton location. So when you get an email at 6:30am to confirm appointment take time off work and pull your kid out of class to make the hour drive. Only to be told the doctor is not coming today and still manage to screw up a "co-pay". Oh and this appointment was rescheduled from last month because the doctor couldn't make it. I don't like posting negative reviews but "Aava dental " you earned this one. If you need extractions I recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

DO NOT COME HERE FOR TOOTH EXTRACTIONS / WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL. They didn't even give me the option of being sedated and it was the most horrifying experience of my life. All they did was numb my mouth so I was completely aware throughout the whole procedure. When I asked for something else as I was highly anxious, I was denied and then blamed by the doctor for making it "harder on myself and them". Well, there should be some sedation option as this was a complete nightmare. This is the worst pain I've ever been in in my life (and I've had multiple surgeries in the past) and all they prescribe is OTC Ibuprofen. The doctor who does extractions here was not compassionate at all. I was not asked if I was going to have a driver home (thankfully I did) and I was not warned that I would be drooling blood immediately after. That would've been incredibly unsafe if I had been the one driving home. Also I waited over a half hour with an appointment. Only giving two stars because of the kind assistants and front staff. read more

Be careful with Aava Dental Foothill Ranch/ Fullerton locations! Staff is disorganized and unprofessional- If you decide to switch from one location to another, they always have troubles with their systems. I Switched from Fullerton location to Foothill ranch and they had to take X-rays again and asked me what was the last treatment I got from the other facility (It seems very unprofessional to me!). Aava Dental is not keeping good records of its patients- I got an invoice a year later after I went to my first consultation. They were charging me a lot of money for bills that I had already paid. I kept calling them but It was difficult to find them. I spent a lot of time until they finally said that they made a mistake and haven't updated the records. If you have a busy life, THINK TWICE if you want to spend your time dealing with unprofessional staff. They charged me for broken appointments that I had rescheduled - They charged me a lot of money for "broken appointment". I rescheduled all of them, but someone neglected to update the system. Unfortunately there is no way to prove anything! They keep changing dentist & assistants all the time -- You have to catch up and recap what the previous doctors were doing, some doctors are nice but other ones are a little bit rude. It seems that doctors are seasonal!!! They are probably not using good materials because one of my filling was broken after 4 months. Again, keep a close eye on your invoice or statements, they probably lost the records and may charge you for something that you already paid. Customer Service: The staff was very personable and kind. They were also very accommodating to my schedule when I needed to come in for a last minute procedure. When you came in, they do this thing to relax you which is putting your hands in wax and letting them sit for a while like that and then peeling it. It leaves your hands feeling very soft. Procedures: Procedures have been smooth. The only time I had some pain when doing a wisdom teeth removal (due to an infection), they were very patient and kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing well. Dr. Tu and her dental assistants were very friendly, patient, and caring. I forgot their names but that's b/c I'm writing this review a month later (Sorry!) But everyone from their front desk personnel, to the two dental assistants that took care of me, and Dr. Tu were all amazing! They explained everything to me, conversed with me about life (lol!) I did dental cleaning and i think filling for my a couple cavities. I was there for 3 hours total. It wasn't too painful they always asked if I were okay. I needed to get in to see a dentist immediately after one of my teeth chipped. I recently changed dental insurances, and I found this place while looking for a new dentist. I was a new patient, but the dentist made time for me and I was able to make a same day appointment when I called! I found out when I arrived to the dentist that my insurance wouldn't be actice for a few more days.. But all of the staff were very friendly and the dentist was able to temporarily fix my chipped tooth until a better job could be done once my insurance was active...for FREE! I was happy with my last dentist, but it was a 30 minute drive so looked for something closer. I found Aava dental and have been going there for about a year now. I was skeptical when Dr. Tu recommended replacing some crowns, but it turns out she was right and there actually was decay underneath that would have been bad for me if I had not taken her advice. She is very picky about getting things right, so it takes a little longer but I think a little inconvenience to get your teeth right is a good investment. The staff there make you feel like one of the family. Michael is very good at his work and likes to talk a lot which makes me forget about the dental work that is going on. I've had a lot of dental work over the years, but for now I like Aava dental. read more

DO NOT USE AVAA DENTAL! Took my daughter for a wisdom teeth removal. After sediation, they said she had 6 cavities they could work on. Since she just had a checkup I thought this was a little unusual. I took her to another dentist for x-rays and an turns out she had no cavities. They have a process of getting you relaxed in the chair and then walk up with a clipboard to "Sell" you additional services in the middle of a procedure. My husband accompanied me for my appt and when i was already getting my exams done, they told me everything that was wrong that I thought i already knew. I was only there for a consultation but they were so kind and sweet and we were all talking for the 5 hours that we were there because i had a few services done. I have frequent migraines and i actually had one while I was in the office, but after dr laviniu removed my wisdom tooth which i had no idea was bothering me , my migraine simply went away that day and my migraines never simply go away not unless i get sleep. i would definitely recommend them to anyone i know!
